That is what I've been talking. Instead of hiding, show what you do, so in case there are troubles, people can help you. I dont understand those who hide their gambling habit. Are they shy? Are they afraid what society will think about them? Gambling has received bad reputation for nothing, compared to other addictions. When people lose in gambling, other think negatively about gambler, like he is a looser. When people win, others also thing negatively about gambling, because they envy. I have never hidden fact that I gamble. From early childhood I have learned, that whenever I try to hide something I do, to lie, to cheat, it always ends bad.

If you are referring to the possibility of problems then yes hiding it will only make it difficult for us to seek help from others, but I think this is not a big problem because basically you can tell one of your closest people like a friend for example that you have a problem in gambling, it is not a problem to tell one person, and I am also like that, or I mean I hide but not to one of my closest friends. And obviously overall of course would advise anyone to better hide their gambling activities from the public eye except one of your friends, because I think it is a fact that gambling has a pretty bad point of view in the eyes of society due to the bad effects experienced by irresponsible addicts, so this can make people claim that you are someone who has a bad personality because you are involved in gambling if you publicize it to many people, and this can eliminate people's trust in you in any case.

On the other hand, we have to look at the context in which you need to hide something from people, because if it's for a good cause such as avoiding people claiming you're a bad person for being an irresponsible gambler then I think there's nothing wrong with that, and the other thing is that I understand that lying is bad behavior but hiding something doesn't necessarily mean you're lying.

Actually keeping your gambling secret depends on where you are. If gambling is legal in your country, of course keeping it a secret won't be a problem. However, if you live in a country that strictly prohibits gambling, such as an Islamic country, of course keeping gambling a secret is a must because if people find out you are gambling then you will be branded as a bad person or in other words, a gambler is a disgrace to the family because he has committed a sin.

However, in general, many people around the world keep their gambling games secret, whether they live in countries where gambling is legal or where gambling is prohibited. Because it must be acknowledged that gambling is not a good thing if it is not kept secret, because gambling is still considered a bad thing if you don't play responsibly. I myself prefer to keep my gambling activities private, just as I keep my bitcoin assets secret.
Once you do make yourself bypassing or violating countries laws specially if its prohibited then you are really that making yourself putting up such risks but in todays technology then it isnt really that too hard for you to consider bypass with these laws and do able to make yourself that cant be detected and this is why it is really that something not shocking that there would really be those people who would really be  that trying out to bypass and still play no matter what until they would really be busting up their ass.

Keeping your gambling habit as a secret? This would really be common and this is where we do always assume out that the community that we do live in
does really have that very bad view towards gambling and this is why they do really come up into this idea or approach on which it is really just that
a normal action that you would be making.

Indeed, everyone can do whatever they like, even though it may be against the law, but if they like it then they will probably still do it. and even though gambling is prohibited in their country, if they are addicted then it is very likely that they will do it secretly, because it is their hobby so they will definitely do it even though it is against the law. and even so, there are some of them who keep it a secret and there are also those who publish it.

Personally, in my opinion, it is best to keep the gambling we do as a secret, even though it is permitted in the country, but in my opinion it will only waste money and of course, in that way, there is a possibility that small, potentially big problems could arise. It is also better to keep the winnings obtained in gambling a secret, keep quiet and enjoy it in a good way, it is okay to treat a friend and tell them where the winnings came from, as long as our friend can fully understand, so that no conflict will occur.
I think that each of us has our way of thinking and our way of coping with things, those that they want to keep secret because they know that this will not lead to problems, in my case very particularly a few years ago the games of chance, casinos and betting were totally prohibited, and that had been going on for more than 20 years, after this the government removed that law that was really retrograde, of course where the government always receives a large money for allowing casinos to operate in the country , but at that time my way of playing was through online casinos, and that was something different , the experience is different from what you have in a physical casino, but basically things with their game systems are the same, The difference is that an online casino can be played from home comfortably or from a phone, PC or tablet.

For me these things are very important, because I consider that a country that prohibits games of chance the only way out is online casinos, if online casinos Start to prohibit those countries due to their regulatory resolutions thanks to the most countries power of the world is something that will never make sense to me.

I think it depends on each individual. If they are really ignorant people, maybe they will do what they like as long as it doesn't harm other people, they will still do it, but if you gamble in a public place, it can be seen from the country that allows or does not allow gambling, if in that country gambling is not allowed. but they gamble openly as you said, maybe they are ready for the risks related to the law, or maybe they are not afraid of what will happen next.

I would be embarrassed if other people knew about the gambling activities I was doing, even if it was a win. because in my country gambling is prohibited, but that is not an obstacle or barrier, the proof is that there are still many people who gamble online, some even do it while broadcasting live because they want to increase their income from the many people who watch it, and there have been no cases of arrests. fast with those who gamble by broadcasting live broadcasts. Everyone has different thoughts, therefore we can do whatever we want, but the note is that what we do should not harm other people. that's what you have to remember.

Gambling in a country where it is illegal, or when a person is underaged is one thing. The other thing is when gambling is legal, you are free to do it whenever or wherever you want. In general you do nothing bad. But, some people still want to keep it in secret. I would understand if you win millions and want to hide that fact from family or dont want to pay taxes. But there are people who gamble, lets say once a month. They place $10, while they earn several thousands monthly. And they hide fact of gambling. Why do they do that?

Indeed, everyone can do whatever they like, even though it may be against the law, but if they like it then they will probably still do it. and even though gambling is prohibited in their country, if they are addicted then it is very likely that they will do it secretly, because it is their hobby so they will definitely do it even though it is against the law. and even so, there are some of them who keep it a secret and there are also those who publish it.

What negative sides? That people gamble, lose, try to play back or become addicted? I was always wondering why people hide fact of gambling and use word addiction to describe its negative effect, and on the other hand people unintentionally promote alcohol addiction with always drinking everywhere; during BDays, sports events, anytime they celebrate something, on weekends and etc. And do it on public. So we hide gambling because of addiction, but we drink on public and show examples of addiction. All those stories when people misbehave when drunk, and people hide the fact that they gamble. That BS.

Yeah, it's unfair how gambling addicts are treated in relation to their counterparts like the alcohol addicts. They hardly get any stigma sticked on them like gamblers are being treated. However, it's common amongst societies that alcohol subsides given time compared to other addictions, and the person recovers after sleeping. But they fail to understand that all addiction is wrong. No need picking sides on which one has the most effect on the person. Gamblers suffer severe addiction due to this, the stigma on them is high and nobody is ready to listen. Those who take alcohol sometimes are being laughed at and the problem is forgotten. The gambler receives a frowning face from people around him. It's just the ancient tradition beliefs that gambling is bad.

People harness the believe and don't care a bit over the pains an addict undergoes. On the other hand, regardless of the treatment an addict foresees he'd get from his loved one, hiding his habit wouldn't help or solve a thing. He needs to open up when feeling any gambling challenge. A closed mouth is a closed destiny they say, if no one knows about the gambler's pains, he'll languish in the trouble for a longer period. Also comparing the treatment alcohol addicts gets to gambling addicts can't change their perspective. It's better the gambling addicts find a means of staying clear from the suffering. Instead of hiding from people, they can share the trouble with a loved one, whom they think will be of help.

If they have the way to share it from other people better doing so, instead of keeping that suffering which most of the time bring them to much deeper side of addiction, it's an own will decision to make things lighter, if you want to cure yourself you need to work and seek for help, it's no longer controllable if your addiction already in the high level, only matter for you is how to please your gambling and nothing else that encircling inside you, just keep pushing and keep playing around, it's unfair treatment but it' becuase of what you are jus showing, but if you start bring things out and start seeking for help.

People who still cares for you will be there, it's something that needed to begin from you and there should be that self-willingness and determination to quit your way from this situation.

What about people who go to offline casinos then? They seems to care little about privacy, as security cameras are all around. Or people who place bets using mobile while being on the sports event. They dont hide mobile screens, and with enough luck, anyone could observe what they do. Providers knows every time someone enters a gambling page.

When people try to keep their gambling habit as a secret, I think they do it because they are afraid of shy to give honest answer how much they have won or lost if they are asked. Otherwise I see no reason why to keep it in a secret. If someone asks me if I gamble, I would tell yes. If I find out or know that someone gambles, my attitude wont change a bit towards him. It is his business and adult can do everything he wants.

Those that keep their gambling habit a secret is it that they're not proud of what they are doing?.

Why do we associate gambling with pride? I think we can't pride ourselves because we are gamblers. Everyone knows that gambling is a person's choice when they grow up and it is their own choice. This is the same as you choosing to drink alcohol. Gambling can make you addicted. And alcohol can make you very drunk and you will do things that violate the law. So when you decide to gamble, it means you are responsible for yourself. I personally don't like it when many people know I gamble, even when I win the jackpot. I think not everyone will have the responsibility of gambling like me.

Every gambler wants to maintain privacy while gambling. He tries not to let anyone else know about his gambling. There are many reasons for this. In public I have seen many people who do not like gambling but when I come to know about their gambling they open up to me about concealment of gambling for various reasons. I initially shared my gambling with everyone but it had a huge negative impact on my gambling life. I learned from there and tried to keep gambling matters under wraps as much as I could. Online gambling platforms have been able to keep such secrets from gamblers. If gambling can be conducted without knowing anyone I think it is better to do so. After all, if there is a big problem due to different information, then it is not bad to inform a specific person.
Privatization of gambling is very important because gambling is known as a bad addiction and cannot be accepted as a good thing in society and family because gambling destroys people's financial condition. So gambling should always be done as fun and this matter should always be kept secret so that no one knows about your gambling.  You will never be blamed by your family and you will be known as an innocent person in the eyes of the society.
While some individuals consider gambling to be a source of enjoyment, others believe it may become an addiction with disastrous repercussions. And you are correct that gambling is stigmatized in some societies. However, I'm curious if the confidentiality you're referring to has any drawbacks. According to some specialists, keeping gambling secrets can lead to feelings of shame and isolation, aggravating the problem.

So we hide gambling because of addiction, but we drink on public and show examples of addiction. All those stories when people misbehave when drunk, and people hide the fact that they gamble. That BS.

Most of the time people prefer to keep their gambling habits a secret because when they talk to everyone or even talk to just one person and that person plays and loses everything, they blame the person who told them about the games. and in our society, when people are hateful and blame others, they can commit barbaric crimes. How many times have you seen or heard that person stole money from her either because the neighbor lied to her, or because she thought the neighbor was jealous of her? I believe you must have heard a story like this before.

Now imagine that you tell your neighbors that you place sports bets and earn money, then your neighbors become interested in this subject and ask you where they can create an account, how they can deposit money and how they can place sports bets, they ask you how much money you earn and you, in complete innocence, say that you have been making a profit of 1000$ per month, and there are months when the value is higher, you are not aware of the financial condition of your neighbors, you do not know that they have debts and that they live with little money and that is why Furthermore, their accounts are very tight, that's why they are asking you all these questions because their intention is to take the little money intended to pay bills and gamble.

so they can earn a lot per month and thus be able to pay all their bills, you don't know what they think. You think they're going to use everything you told them to have fun. happens that they gamble and lose everything, the first thing they will think is that you deceived them and you did it on purpose for them to lose everything because you are jealous of them and they will come after you and use violence to punish you and they will hurt you and not No matter what you tell them, they won't listen, because it's easier for their conscience to blame you than for them to assume that everything was their fault.

We live in a society where people have different views about something and these views could be drawn based on different constituent like personal sentiment, religion, ideology and experience. And speaking of gamble there are those that view it as an irresponsible activity to embark on and whoever is into it is tag as irresponsible guy, for some it beyond being irresponsible but a sin something that is evil,  while some others out of an ugly experience of a loved one that got ruined by it due to extreme addiction.

These factors has made a number of gamblers to keep their gambling habit a secret doing all they could not to let friends and family  know they gamble. And it does seem like they ain't proud of what they're doing.

But why continue in what you're not proud of by keeping it secret cause maybe you're worried about what people may say, how their thoughts about your person might change. Or how you might loose ties with someone you hold dear to. And many other reasons that follows.

Those that keep their gambling habit a secret is it that they're not proud of what they are doing?.

Keeping gambling habit as a secret is not bad at all and there are two reasons why people do this.

1. To avoid discouragement from people around them.

2. They care about what others says about gamblers.

In some countries, gamblers are big sinners, the way people stare at gamblers is like that of someone who is lost in his own dream, and it can be a stamp for you when you are sighted at a casino nearby.

I won't ever discourage anyone not to gamble, but I will tell them about the cruelty of becoming a gambling addict, so that they will be cautious when proceeding, the truth is you can never know what will work for anyone, just because you hate gambling don't mean it won't favor someone else, this is why I don't discourage people.

I want to add this one more reason I see why others prefer to hide their gambling activities is to avoid bad luck or the so-called evil eye 🧿 there are other people who when they know what is happening to you, they can controlled it in their mind and there is a big chance that your plans will not come true or in the case of gambling, you may lose and bad luck happen to you because there is another person who knows what you are doing, and that person is possibly against on what you're doing. That's one of the superstitious beliefs here in our country, many things are avoided in order not to lose in gambling and first things first is - don't let other people know.

I think one of the reasons why someone keeps their gambling a secret is because of the environment in which they live. In some places gambling has many negative sides so that people tend to judge someone who gambles. We also know that not all gambling places are legal, there are still many countries that consider gambling to be illegal. So for that reason someone will keep their gambling habits a secret and perhaps only open it to those who like to gamble too.
Actually, this depends on the person and in my opinion whether it is a secret or not is not a problem as long as they can still gamble within very reasonable rules and limits. Even if they keep it a secret, I'm sure there is a fundamental reason why they do that, apart from what I said above, it could also be due to family factors that don't allow family members to get to know gambling. However, whether it is a secret or not, what is clear is that once again I just advise you to always gamble according to the rules and only use money you are ready to lose.

Those that keep their gambling habit a secret is it that they're not proud of what they are doing?.
I personally don't owe anyone a duty to let them know what I'm doing or not doing in this context. What difference does it even make in the first place? Will they support me financially in gambling or they will wish me well? Will there wish even translate to the outcome of the game?

Apart from my partner that I practically discus most of my life issues with, I'm a reserved person and unless its necessary, I don't even share my work outing with a regular person and gambling is totally out of the equation.
