These factors has made a number of gamblers to keep their gambling habit a secret doing all they could not to let friends and family know they gamble. And it does seem like they ain't proud of what they're doing.
But why continue in what you're not proud of by keeping it secret cause maybe you're worried about what people may say, how their thoughts about your person might change. Or how you might loose ties with someone you hold dear to. And many other reasons that follows.
Those that keep their gambling habit a secret is it that they're not proud of what they are doing?.
The number one reason that make some people hide their gambling habit might be because of what religious society think and the eye in which they watch people. You see, religion especially the Muslim condemn gambling, it's a sin and anyone doing it is doing against the will of Allah and as such, any Muslim gambler found doing it is doing Haram. However, because of the habit, they always flind a way to play but most of the time keep it a secret so that others don't judge their actions in other to have peace of mind and being call out especially in public gatherings.
In addition, I can't speak for the public but I can speak for myself that I keep my gambling private, not because I fear what people would say or some kind of public validation but I just need my privacy, what I play is my responsibility, when u lose I shoulder it and when I win, I rejoice alone except with my pals and there are many of them that don't go into gambling while I do it when I'm free, it's a free world and we get to enjoy what we love to do, it's not a crime to keep things off the public.
Moreover, it's safe to keep gambling on the low so that people don't profile you as a rich person, there are times people might have the believe that you have money on you especially when you win games and show it to the public, they can threaten you, they can rob you and they can even attack you if they are jealous about your progress. I think gambling should be s private things, I have seen it ruin relationships and family, no point of making it public unless you're addicted and need help.
