In my country some of the local traders are accepting Bitcoin as a payment mode, But it is amazing to hear that a international Food joint is also accepting BTC. Hope to see many more international brands accepting Bitcoin as a payment mode.

Using Bitpay is like using a Visa card Undecided
Bitpay will accept Bitcoin and convert it to USD then will pay the company, I want to see KFC acceptin Bitcoin directly to their Bitcoin wallet without using a third party service.

Its good initiative by KFC, Now even there small bucket of fried chicken will give more returns from last fiscal year

Fried chicken chain KFC Canada is accepting bitcoin – for a limited time and for a cryptocurrency-themed bucket of chicken, that is.

The limited-time marketing move sees the Canada-based chain advertising "The Bitcoin Bucket" complete with a Facebook-based live-tracker of the standing price for the product, which works out to roughly 20 Canadian dollars depending on the exchange rate with bitcoin.

That said, you can't exactly walk into a KFC location in Canada and pay with crypto at the cash register.

Instead, the company is accepting Bitcoin via BitPay as one of the options through an online check-out page. The Bitcoin Bucket will be delivered directly to the customer's address (the product also carries a $5 fee), according to the check-out process on its website.

KFC is trying to get involved or to get influenced by bitcoin. It must be a trial for them if they can accommodate more people through that way. This will be a great opportunity for them since many people use bitcoin nowadays. People tend to use it for buying foods such as this fast-food restaurant. Many companies will open their own soon once that the feedback of this is good and becoming popular. If they got a profit more than what they have in the normal serving, then it is good.

This seems to be the first sign that cryptocurrencies and blockchain will be the future of online payments. In the future, we will not need to carry a wallet or bank card anymore. Just a smartphone and payment application to pay for everything by cryptocurrencies.

It  brings more popularity to bitcoin and it help us to be more secure in different places just carry our bitcoin than bringing cash in our wallet while shopping or eating in fastfood.

Well, that's a great news. Can't imagine that we can have a bucket of chicken through bitcoin. That was just a news that they're sharing years ago and it amazes me that it is already implemented these days. I'm looking forward for a day wherein things that we all need would be payable with bitcoin.

I think that this is nonsense and that it is not necessary. Bitcoin was created in order to conduct large transactions with a relatively small commission. For transfers of a small amount of money, bitcoin is poorly suited, since the commission is very large relative to the amount of the transaction.

this is good news about bitcoin, where in real life bitcoin is now not only limited to exchange transactions, apprenticeship and digital currency investments only, but has been accepted as a legal means of payment to buy some goods and food in various shopping areas, not only in the market crypto, although apparently limited, KFC accepts payment with bitcoin for the fried chicken category, I think the future will open the gap for other companies as a new payment tool in various places of trade and services.

I really love to see bitcoin in action where some entities are accepting it as payment for their goods or services. Transaction may be fast and convenience is guaranteed on both ends but i just wonder how they will handle the payment if this entity will go offline.

I really love to know that they are now accepting bitcoin as payment. It will be a good news and will help for bitcoin's popularity. It will be a new beginning for a big convenient transactions that are waiting to all bitcoin users.

The biggest name in fried chicken has launched a crypto currency - themed “Bitcoin Bucket”. You can pay for it using the flagship of Bitcoins. As on one hand, the company is partnering with BitPay to accept bitcoin payments for the meal, but Luddites can still complete the purchase using fiat currency to avoid the rising transaction fees now associated with bitcoin payments. You can't exactly walk into a KFC location in Canada and pay with crypto at the cash register. Instead, the company is accepting Bitcoin via BitPay as one of the options through an online check-out page. The Bitcoin Bucket will be delivered directly to the customer's address (the product also carries a $5 fee), according to the check-out process on its website. Hence, KFC is not sharing the risk in the business of the price fluctuation in Bitcoin. Its been outsourced to BitPay. This is because accepting bitcoin in a business of fast moving food retail chain is a huge challenge because of the price fluctuations, which KFC is not sharing.

If KFC official post this on their shops people will gone crazy again because its the signs for the people to probe for a community whereas cashless society will occur its too convenient for us to not bring money and worry for nothing because nothing may be lost because all our assets is online and we can use it anywhere and anytime to provide our needs and wants at the same time.

This will not happen, and even if it does, who will use bitcoin to buy fried chicken? The fees are to high, so it's not viable. The only reason KFC is doing this, is to try to boost their stock prices, although as the article pointed out it had no effect. Not saying this is bad, but KFC is not doing bitcoin a favor, and is just trying to use the hype around it. Even though most people are aware of bitcoin by now, positive news are always good, and I would like a bitcoin bucket but I don't live in Canada, so I cant buy one.

So the title is
"KFC Canada Is Accepting Bitcoin for Fried Chicken"

But:
-it is not available in all stores
-is is just for limited time
-you can only order one special product
-they actually accept fiat not btc through bitpay
-it carries an extra 5$ fee
-you can only order it for delivery

Talking about advertesing

This is awesome for the movement! More companies, more people introduced to Bitcoin, more usage. It's a good start for now, in the future you'll have the giants like McDonalds and Subway join in. Fantastic to hear such things!

After KFC supports bitcoin, I think McDonald's will also support bitcoin, as these two businesses are mostly bitter rivals.

This is a very normal news and I am not particularly excited to see KFC Canada accepting bitcoin. Also they are not accepting bitcoin in practice. They are just using bitpay's payment gateway service which is very similar to visa or MasterCard payment gateway. While users will pay in bitcoin to bitpay and bitpay will transfer the dollar value to KFC. So practically KFC is not taking any business risk here. Because accepting bitcoin in a business of fast moving food retail chain is a huge challenge because of the price fluctuations, which KFC is not taking. So it is just a normal news and won't help bitcoin in any way. Just another very small adoption news without any impact.

The adoption and integration of blockchain technology by fast food chains like KFC and McDonald’s will drastically increase the awareness of millennials in bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, which have evolved into a major asset class.
