KnCMiner's batch numbering is confusing, however it is what it is. Can we -1 on all the batch numbers here to match? So the first batch (the customer appreciation batch) becomes batch 0, and the following batches will match with KnCMiner numbering.

Have any of the people with a Neptune on order looked into the viability of the 20nm ASIC and how likely it is to offer any advantage over 28nm technology?

I ask because this article raises serious questions over the benifits of 20nm tech:
http://www.altera.co.uk/technology/system-design/articles/2012/20nm-systems-era.html

NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang publicly questioned the economic viability of the whole 20 nm node, saying that its cost per transistor might never drop below that of 28 nm.

KnC has broadly delivered so far, but the question is - is it even possible to fab a 20nm chip that is any better than a 28nm ASIC in terms of hash power/cost?

Never heard of them, and my advice is to keep away.

The only place to buy KNC equipment is direct from them, as you saw they are currently sold out but some people are cancelling orders so they may make more units available at some point.

Hi there,

I really want to order one of these but dont know where i can do it?  I tried on the Knc website and it says none available.

Found another website where you can pre order them for $10,300.  http://asicmart.com/product/kncminer-neptune-asic-miner-3000-ghs/

Im scared to order one from them incase it's a scam tho.

Please remove my order. Refunded. Fuck knc.

Removed. I'm not as confident as I was, but it's not about the specs or delivery schedule so much as I always knew about that and nothing has really changed. The main problem is that hashing power is required now not in x months. The decision not to release more jupiters has left no choice but to buy elsewhere, and whilst currently that hardware isn't good enough to cancel my order for, there could be something soon.  It's made more difficult by having such an early order so currently just waiting it out, still plenty of time to make that decision.

I'm curious why you went for a refund instead of trying to sell, would have thought you'd have got a nice premium for such an early one.

better is to mark refunded orders to count them!

It may have been better to mark them refunded, but I've already deleted quite a few either through messages in the thread or by PM so it's no longer going to be accurate, and the main reason for the list is to track delivery schedule so will carry on removing them I think.

Add my orders as the following:
