Do you mean that with 1250!psu have better result from 860 psu?

I wanted to compare the performance and efficiency between the two types of power supplies.

Seems the OCZ consumes more power than the corsair as it should considering the corsair 860i is platinum efficiency rated.

And one can see from the results that the corsair ax860i gives better performance, perhaps due to higher power efficiency.

I gauge performance by the total accepted shares.

Here are the results from 4 Jupiter systems running 24 hours on firmware V0.9.5 in an ambient room temp of 19°C with case cover on.

Note that I had to restart the test due to Jupiter3 restarting cgminer 6 hours into the first attempt. Since then I have replaced the intake fans on Jupiter3.
I have also included the power supply type I have been using on the Jupiters. I found that after 24 hours the Corsair AX860i(580watt) outperforms the efficiency of the OCZ1250(605watt) on Jupiter unit #1

From the results, your unit is operating within spec. What your ambient temp is?

Meh KFC is giving cgminer a bad name Sad
Maybe we should sue them for that.

It's an old version and their driver doesn't do the MH/s calculation correctly either as we saw when they did the big video boasting "It's more than 500GH/s" but it wasn't more than 500GH/s Tongue

Could someone please summarize their findings with the last firmware versions? Something like these data points:

- Firmware version
-  Power consumption
-  Hashrate
-  Temp
- Errors, etc/

I updated from 0.95 to 0.96 and I'm sad to say that I regret it.

Firmware 0.95
512 Gh/s (538 Gh/s avg on Eligius)
41-55 °C
5% HW errors

Firmware 0.96
476 - 518 Gh/s
41-55 °C
4-12% HW errors

Strange how 0.96 seems very unstable for me compared to 0.95. At first after I updated the hashrate was immediately down and had 10% HW errors. So I did a hard reset and after a reboot things seemed fine again with 4% HW errors and 518 Gh/s avg on cgminer, a tiny improvement over 0.95. Then after I restarted cgminer the hashrate started to suck again with a lot of errors. I tried rebooting but it seems to only get worse with 12% HW errors now and only 476 Gh/s avg. I guess I will go back to 0.95 and hopefully get the old stability back even though 5% errors still seems a bit too high. Sad

A little update: after running my Jupiter for 12 hours on 0.96 (on Bitminter) things seem to have gotten a little bit better. HW errors went down to 5% again slowly and now seems stable, hashrate is at 505.9 Gh/s avg on cgminer and WU is at 7446/m. Still not satisfied but at least I know you have to leave it running for a while first to see the results of a new firmware. Hopefully I can tweak things to get it hashing a bit faster towards 550Gh/s avg with 8k+ WU figures and 1-3% HW errors like I see the good Jupiters perform.

so according to the numbers, this means that I have like a 20% error rate, and thats why on the pool server I show THE TRUE HASH RATE OF 210GH/s.....correct me if I am wrong, but I think this is how this reads....

Kano, any thing that can be done to correct this.....is it firmware to hardware, hardware to software.....I notice on .96 that when a block is found, the miner regains speed quicker...would like to see the 20% errors go away, then maybe the pool server will truly see 250GH/s.

Just got my KNC today, seems like its running at 522 GH/s or so (with 0.96 firmware) according the web interface. It hasn't been running long enough for me to get accurate stats from the pool I'm using. I'll measure power consumption when I bring it home tonight.

I'm surprised on how quiet it is. It is so much quieter than my Avalon and BFL singles.

The web interface says its hot (52, 56.5, 58, and 49 are the temps) but the heatsinks are not even warm.

It arrived with three fans off and sliding around inside the case. Taking off the case was a PITA because I didn't the special screwdriver needed.

it'll never be endorsed by KNC but if you take the heatsink fans and sit them on the crossbar you'll get better flow over the board & chips and 5-7C lower

I'll post a pic when I get a chance

Any chance you can get a more perpendicular angle from the side of the fan/heatsink. I want to see how far you have that set.

Just to be clear, these are unclipped right?

Thanks for the photo/info
if this works, a little velcro will make them stay....

so after 30hrs or so, here is where I am at with my Saturn on .95 firmware....should I update it to .96

miner_knc   233.65 GH/s   5534080 (99.82%)   7936 / 31616 / 2176

temps are 47 slot 1, and 40.5c slot 5

did you atleast do the enable cores ??   one thing .96 does that I see is it will hash a little slower than .95 but much less HW errors thus less cores going off which equals better output, but if you have cores that are always down might get more out of ,95 or .94 with auto restart script since usually those firmwares will let your miner drift to lower and lower avg

DPoS, if you notice in my stats, I have less than a 1% error rate, so I don't want to mess that up, but feel like 230GH/s for a Saturn is lower than what others are showing for their Saturns. phoenix1969 has 3 saturns churning at 275GH/s each...I would like at least 250, but not sure if its attainable. I have done nothing to the miner, not even enabling ssh, other than plug it in and run it....suggestions, ideas, and comments fully accepted, thanks ahead of time.
how are you seeing 1%?   The HW error rate is the real killer.  You can see that either by viewing cgminer or running bertmods acis_status.pl / get status page

you'll see either something good:
Device Hardware%=3.2182

or crappy:
Device Hardware%=14.1518

one of your boards will show something like this if you checkl:

Temperature sensor: 36.0 C
Die ID    Cores ON Cores OFF %
0   36   12    75
1   48   0    100
2   48   0    100
3   48   0    100

DPoS, I thought the pool server stats were the ones that counted.....anyhow, do you or anyone else know of a thread were it gives specific instructions on accessing the Saturn via ssh for a total newb....I know I can figure it out by doing tons of research, but hopefully someone has condensed all the instructions???
