The main problem with this coin is that the published source code doesn't match the functionality of the newer Windows executable. Most likely the source was updated, and a new Windows client was compiled from that source, but the source changes were never committed to github.

It's possible the changes were a hard fork or perhaps an enforced version, because clients compiled from the source refuse to talk to the newer Windows clients.

So we're left with an orphaned Windows client - it can never be updated because we don't have current source. It also means that exchanges will not be able to compile a client that works with Windows clients.

It may be possible to reverse engineer the Windows client to figure out what changed (and why) but that's going to be a real headache. The other possibility is to move forward from the source that's available, but this will be a hard fork, so it will mean that anyone running a Windows client will probably need to resync from scratch.

really want to see this coin actually moving, i lost my lot of time mining it, while then i had chance to mine doge or litecoin those days.. i don't have any knowledge about coding other wise i might had done something with it. lets hope one day some one fix it.

Yes it took me a long time to mine one of these coins too but the reality is this coin is dead!!!

i will try to find my wallet
maybe if someone can run a node? i wish i could but i have no such time

We can give it a try

These alts are doing so good these days, a little push can help us

Lets make a telegram group and talk

thats true we should give it a try, i think i have saved some old wallets in my external HDD. i have few spare core2duo computers sitting in my garage, i can run nodes on that.

Its been dead for quite some time man!
We did tried to revive it once but it went back like that

Wanna give another try? We need a node

Too bad...

I'm the assistant of Devnullius and she is very upset to hear this.

Really? Why not ask Devnullius to set up a node then?  Smiley

From memory the "current" version of KSC exists only as a Windows executable; there's no source code with the newest changes available. That means it's going to be very difficult to move forward.

From memory they should change only some POS parameters, it shouldn't be difficult to put these parameters into the source code to make it the "current" version

Depends what the changes were between the last released source, and the newer Windows wallet executable.

If it was just basic bug fixes, a few extra checkpoints etc then it should be possible to use the older source as a reference, and redo the coin with newer source from another coin.

If it was a hard fork then it's going to be more complicated. Can't remember exactly, but I don't think I was ever able to successfully sync using the older version, so it's possible that newer Windows clients will refuse to communicate with older source based clients. [edit: my notes from last year say "client broken by hard fork, needs more current source"]

All that shouldn't be difficult. Without any change in parameters, older versions can't sync with the current version is a normal thing. It doesn't mean the current client was broken

---- >>> DEAD COIN

No source code could ever be found

ONLY thing remaining was : https://www.dropbox.com/s/eawkrn768odewyn/kashmircoin-update%20%282%29.exe?dl=0

The Wallet works [or I should say the Wallet "DID work"] but will not sync due to very little interest
