Definitely a PR move from the Casino to keep their frustrated player due to hack.  It is a nice move indeed, I commend Bitcasino.io in providing calming action towards their hacked player.   I bet OP had learned his lesson to always enable 2fa or any secondary layer of security to his account.  I hope every Casino will act the same way as Bitcasino in dealing with the same situation.
While I am all praise for them doing such an act but I would never want all the casinos to do the same because this might give birth to intentionally leaking out your coins via a VPN and then crying to them for getting free bets/spins.

I understand OP was genuinely hacked and a great gesture was shown by bitcasino to provide him free spins and doing so they also retained their gambler and he would now never gamble on any other casino, so yeah amazing of them to use this strategy but I think if every casino starts doing the same thing then people will become rather lazy and more hacks will be done some real while some to get free spins.
I doubt the casino will do the same PR move if the cases are more than 10 at the same week. The low amounts are just salt for promotion and the content of promo will be shared as we discuss this issues now. The anti-cheat systems work perfectly for detecting promo abusers and bonus hunters, so the same rules will be the elimination rules in the mentioned case.

Regardless of the issue, or if it's just a PR move or not, it's still great that Bitcasino made an action towards op's problem although it was really not their fault and they are not really liable about the hacking. Also, the way they responded and offer free spins to op is a good move.

And I guess, it's a lesson to op to set up 2fa. Better be careful next time to avoid this kind of scenario again. Even if it's disappointing for OP  that his account got hacked, he's still lucky with the immediate response he got from Bitcasino.

Is this a marketing strategy to earn back the trust of Bitcointalk users to Bitcasino ? because the OP is newbie and i dont buy a single word. Perhaps this is related to the other thread posted in this section about an issue Bitcasino not paying in full instead gave the user a small of amount of his winnings in installment.
I can also see a security flaw. First all, it's very bad for a gambling website to not set up 2FA it should be mandatory because scenario's like this could happen.

Indeed. bitcasino.io already had a bad image here in the forum and a newbie promoting and stating that its support help him with his fault is just ridiculous. If their system would be faulty and had a lot of security flaws, them rewarding the victims and those victims such as the OP is just a pure desperate action by the platform to gain back the forum users trusts. Also, if they were generous like that, I might be always tell them that I'm hacked or what, because that generosity isn't a good thing but rather a foolish move IMO.

Lesson learned for you then my friend. I hope it was not too expensive to learn, and good on the casinos to let you have some free spins on them. Like you said, they did not have to do it and yet they did. Happy customer, happy business,,, do not know why some people do not get this simple concept;)
A simple way to make a customer happy instead of disappointing the security system of the site because OP has been hacked.

This is I guess a simple move to have good PR and also a marketing strategy for them. Well, I hope Bitcasino will continue their generosity to their costumer even without knowing us or here in the community. Because as a good gambling business always start in gaining trust to the community.

Keep it up team Bitcasino, all trials shall be passed!

This is still an element of the business. The platform does not want you to leave and makes the only right decision - to compensate you for your small losses.
Especially considering that the fault is entirely on you, I would regard this as a reward for loyalty. And look at the result, you already thank them causing a standing ovation among the members of the forum.
My respect for such a service.

That's a good move for Bitcasino they understand the flight of their players who are undergoing this experienced and this is very hard for any gamblers, Bitcasino have proven that they are not only reputable but very understanding and considerate of their clients, I'm sure many gambling sites will follow their lead.

I think that any service should do this, turn unpleasant situations related to customers into a win-win situation. Indeed, even if at first glance it seems that the casino has lost, it will all be evenly won because the client won. I came across a lot of similar situations, both myself and reading reviews. Sometimes you are at a loss how this or that service treats its customers.

Congrats that you are backed to enjoy they platform and I think this is good feedback on their reputation and customer service because they made an immediate action and customer support because we cannot deny nowadays that there is a lot of platforms that have a slow response to their users also some of them required to have a token first before entertaining their customers.

Also if you are a gambler you must need to always make a 2FA on your account because there is a balance on it and we want to make sure all of our funds are safe.

Bitcasino has done a great job trying to make up for your losses despite them having nothing to do with your hacked account. Although I think they won't be doing this forever and to everyone.

I have curious questions though. How did Bitcasino know of your situation? How did you even retrieve your account?

the OP expressed his disappointment to bitcasino after losing $1k and his account getting hacked and losing more money because of it.(quote below for reference)

a bit upset with bitcasino..

i've lost at least $1000 to this casino over the past couple weeks.    Over the weekend, I get an email saying that they suspect suspicious activity with a login from a new device in sweden.  I didn't see this email.   later that day my account balance is drained to two separate bitcoin addresses.   it was about 15 mbtc.   also,  I didn't have 2fa set up (dumb, I know) .. but NOW google authenticator is setup by these scammers and i'm completely locked out of my account.

I send a note to [email protected].  they finally get back to me after a couple days saying they don't find anything suspicious.

So..

1)  I would like them to refund my money..  --- i know this is reaching and understand that this probably won't happen..  BUT if they did, i'm sure i'd lose it and more eventually, so they would win.. but whatever. . I understand they're not responsible for me not having my account locked down correctly.  BUT a gent can ask, right?  :-)

2) I would like them to unlock my account so I can play..

i mean they send me an email suspecting suspicious activity,  then they say they don't see any suspicious activity?     I love this casino..  it's just a shame..

thanks for letting me vent.

This sounds a one of a kind response from a gambling site.

A casino seeing nothing suspicious after initially seeing a suspicious activity, unlocking an account which has already a 2FA set up for it, and then providing a sort of a compensation for the stolen funds.

I'm sure they also asked wecanbothwin some proof that he actually owned the account?

I just want to give a shout out to Bitcasino.io

a couple weeks ago, my account was hacked.  It was my own fault, I didn't have 2fa set up.     I've now fixed that issue, my account is secure (i hope).    In that ordeal, the hackers withdrew around 11mbtc.  Not a huge amount, but still.    was not thrilled about it.

Bitcasino just sent me a note that they are going to give me some free spins for the amount that was taken from my account.     Did they have to do that? no.    Of course i'm happy about this, but I also feel this was the correct move as they have proven themselves to be more than trustworthy and will continue to play there.  And I'm sure they know they'll get much more than that from me.  :-)

Best,
wecanbothwin
Good to hear that you already taste the generosity of Bitcasino.io and congratulation, there are cases like yours that has not been awarded in the past and now that This casino site offers free spins no wonder many following victim of hacks will taste their help also.

I haven't used bitcasino platform but this is an amazing thing they did. Realizing that the fault was from you is a good sign that you are humble, next time never fail to set up your 2FA as it gives a higher security level. Happy free spin for your little hacked mbtc, bitcasino did well.

Hi guys,

It would be a bit of an overkill with PR moves if we arranged this one. After hard work on LAngels case we've got plenty of positive feedback and the negativity this case gave to us at first glance has turned into positivity and it has strengthened the trust towards our brand in this community, which we're truly thankful Smiley

Cheers,

yeah, it felt like a PR move from your side even though it is not. I think the OP just felt the need to support you because of the scam attempt and drama LAngels caused. he probably expressing his gratitude for compensating(which I think not many gambling casinos do and I applaud you for that) what he lost when his account got hacked was probably the best way to support you.

Kudos to their team, I think they handled your concerns very well, getting your account back and giving you free credits to play in lieu of the BTC that was stolen from you. I hope that this will serve as a lesson to you to always secure your account.

Casino supports should be this accomodating when attending to their user's needs. This will reflect the gambling platform as a whole, how they handle queries and problems their users are having.

Great, congratulations to you. I suppose you were convinced that you were right with the choice of online casinos.  Cheesy I think this is a great example laid out in the right place at the right time.

A lot of crypto casinos are advertised here, which means they have something to think about when looking at the above situation. A great example of rewarding loyalty, it’s a pity the amount is small, there could be a very interesting precedent.
I don't think the amount would change anything because the casino did not meant to recover money lost to the gambler but they just wanted to make sure their customer does not feel upset because of what happened and they greeted him with spins so that he can forget about the hack mvoing forward while if can we win back some lost money via free spins it is always a great bonus.

I mean if even he lost 1 bitcoin that would have not changed anything since they would still offer some free spins and they are not liable to provide any bonus but that is truly an amazing display of customer satisfaction from their team and I can tell you from my experience not all the casinos have the heart to do it.

Agree with this! This is a way of handling out frustrated user/customer for them to retain and wont really turn their backs.I can say this was a good move and as said that not all casinos

would really consider out such step on giving out free spins even if a certain user do experience hack or loss of funds. This might be a simple step or move but it is effective on

easing out  stress and rage which will result on totally leaving out their platform. They do really know on what they've been doing.

bitcasino.io is a scam. they closed there old account because they were red trusted tons. They have a long histoty of stealing funds, scammy tatcics, kyc fraud, and many many other suspect things with over 100 scam accuastions going back years, i would  not trust them with 50 cents far less 11 mbtc they lie and will use every trick to scam you
You should post the links then, it's important to inform the members who will trust this gambling platform because of that move. If it's a bad actor in reality you should aware people properly.
