The Lalliga season is almost over as Madrid have placed themselves in a more favourite spot to win the league. They are ontop of the table and are leading the table with some reasonable points, while Barcelona seat second on the table, and won't be winning anything this season, except they do well in the champions league and are able to lift the trophy, but I doubt that PSG will let allow them win.I also think Xavi Hernandez is more focused on the Champions league than the Lalliga now because he knows the Lalliga tittle race is already over.

Girona have very good chance to end in top four and I am not think Girona can finish the season at a third position but a fourth position is their ending position in my opinion. Girona will have to struggle to defend their third position against pressure from Atletico Madrid but with big gap against Athletic Club, Girona are able to win against the competitor at the fifth position.

A fourth position will be enough for Girona and they have 9 points as big advantage now. The match with Atletico Madrid is a next big match for Girona and if they can have a draw or win, they will have another good match to the finish day. Their target for the match will be at least a draw as if they lose it, Athletic Club can potentially reduce point difference to 6 points.

3 clubs from third to fifth positions in last five matches are very similar, only Girona is a little bit better with one more winning. Each of them have 2 defeats in last five matches.
I think Girona's current position is 3rd in the standings, by looking at a few more matches I think Girona will be able to occupy the top 4 of the Spanish league standings. With the point difference between Atletico Madrid reaching 7 points, at least in the next match we will remain focused on beating them so that the distance between them will increase. It's not easy to win this weekend's match, because Atletico Madrid will of course play attacking because they are also in the shadow of the competitors below them with a difference of only 2 points. If Atletico Madrid cannot win against Girona, of course Bilbao will be the main competitor to fight for the top 4 positions until the end of all matches.

There is a 7 point gap between Girona and Athletico Madrid, and they would still be fourth if they drop there, there is a 9 point difference between Athletic Club as well, so it wouldn't be really all that simple. We are talking about just 8 games left, expecting Girona to lose 9 more points than Athletic Club in the last 8 weeks would be a little weird.

I hope that people could find a way to make that work, I can't really see how that would be any different, but if that is what we are looking at then we should be considering the situation to be important. I personally believe that what we have right now would not be easy, and we do need the situation to be a little bit easy for Girona to end at UCL levels this season without a doubt.
Girona remaining 7 points left from Atletico Madrid and both team will meet on next match, if loss three points, Girona will drop behind 4 points left and crucial for Girona if another match Athletic Bilbao can secure three points against Villareal. Girona near future with dreaming participants in champion league next season and won't loss it exactly on fewest matches left. La Liga with 8 matches left all possibilities would be happen, actually Girona can secure five winning matches later enough to get one champion league ticket next season but to make more easy if can beat Atletico Madrid on next match and reduce one competitor team reach to fourth position place.

Only two difficult teams face by Girona on 8 matches left, large opportunity for qualifying to champion league because the rival team Athletic Bilbao and Atletico Madrid will meet on matchday 33. If one of them can secure three points will give more benefit for Girona if can win all matches left exactly.

I would also prefer to see Girona finally get a ticket to the Champions League. Because I think this team needs bigger competition. because I think there is no doubt about the potential that this club has. And I also like Míchel's coaching style. It's just that since the middle of the season I noticed that there was a slight difference in strategy that occurred at Girona which made Girona lose points in several matches. But I think Girona will still be able to stay at least in the top 4. Or even Girona will remain in their current ranking, namely 3rd place. The only condition is that Girona must remain consistent with their current abilities.

Next week, Girona will face Atletico Madrid again. As far as I remember, at the start of the season, Girona managed to beat Atletico Madrid. But maybe the situation now will be a little different. Because Atletico Madrid will have their turn as hosts in the upcoming match. And maybe Girona will really be tested with this match. But if Girona doesn't lose in this match then we will all be more confident that Girona will get a ticket to the Champions League in the end.

I think Girona have been improving gradually over the years and the fact that their players have been playing together for long is another thing to their advantage. I don't expect expect to change anytime soon and that will mean that they would have transfoed from a low club to a top team. Of they eventually qualify for the Champions League next season in line with the expectations of their teaming supporters, that will be a big boost to their morale and team spirit. Indeed the future is looking so bright for them.

I like the project Girona is building. It's slow and it's steady. They're ready to take the long road and it will pay off if they keep at it. They need to build a team that would be a regular in Europe first before talking about building a team that will be a "top team". It doesn't have to be the Champions League alone, the Europa is a competition to build experience and confidence. Keep growing. Learn how to fight for a top 5 spot regularly, and know what it means. I don't believe any team just comes out and becomes a top team. The more they become popular, the more they attract good players and managers.

A major problem Girona is going to have is La Liga's financial restrictions and FFA. If they were in a league like the EPL, the league would even back them to sign players. Look at teams like West Ham, Newcastle, and Brighton signing big players to help them compete in Europe, this is something La Liga lacks and it's affecting the level of the league.
Hopefully, the next league management gets better than this one because the teams are suffocating and I wonder why the league isn't doing anything about this.

La Liga is not easy and very tough for mediocre teams. With the presence of Real Madrid and Barcelona, these average teams thinks they're capable of withstanding the pressure coming their path? It's funny how these teams fight really hard to accumulate points and when they've been the at the top, all of a sudden, they dropped and even returned back worse. Girona was expected to maintain the lead but they fall from the top and they're having complications to maintain their streak winnings. However I wouldn't blame them because they're average team and they have been doing everything to rise back up but it doesn't seem to be happening.

Girona's rise in the La Liga is really difficult not to notice. They were able to finish the last season in 10th place but now they have made a huge progress.  Smiley  They don't have a very impressive squad compared to the biggest teams of the league now actually but the team effort is amazing. Besides despite not having one of the best squads they have some good talents in the squad.

Probably Girona will lose some important players in the summer and this would be really bad for them if they qualify for the Champions League. But I guess they would make some decent transfers for the Champions League too.
Girona's success in this season is massive and everyone is impressed but whether they will be able to maintain it in a next season and more seasons in future will be important for their club.

Will they become another Sevilla in La Liga, rising from a small club to a big one and most successful representatives of La Liga in Europe?

Girona can aim at that big target but it will need many years and with their limited finance, they will have to avoid breaking their club's salary ceiling for star players. They need to continue to find young and unknown players, grow these players up and gain more success from them. If Girona falls to a trap of lifting their salary ceiling, their finance will be unsustainable and will have risk of bankruptcy in future.

Up to this moment many are still doubting Girona qualifying to champions league, i really respect how few people were happy to see a new change in Laliga seeing a non popular club stressing the strongest teams in Laliga and showing them how good they are and how far they can go with their consistent performance, but still few still doubt them, but if they are looking at it in the view of not maintaining it to the end, l will agree with them based on this is there first time of pushing so hard, but next time if they can do it again they will do better than this season because they could have gather more experience to make them stay at the top.

In fact, many of Laliga's bottom teams at the start of each season always manage to climb into the top three of the standings, but they are not as consistent as Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, so they are back in the middle position. In contrast to Girona, Girona this season has made a surprise in LaLiga because the progress they have had so far has been consistent and they are certain to advance to the Champions League next season.

This season many teams that face Girona will find it difficult to face them, they are very consistent in their game. Because they use a 5-3-2 pattern when they meet strong teams and also dare to play openly, that's what's interesting about Girona this season.

I doubt it, yeah, if in Ligue 1 there were Lens who were able to finish runners up behind Paris Saint-Germain last season. I see that Girona is not much the same as the other league teams that I mentioned, however their performance in this competition is partly because they don't have a tight schedule. In fact, Girona only participates in two competitions, namely La Liga and Copa del Rey. So, they only focus on domestic competitions, especially La Liga. That's why Michel's squad can progress quite consistently. because every week, it is almost certain that they only play 1 match. different from other teams that take part in several competitions, especially the La Liga Elite teams.

I'm not sure Girona can do the same thing next season as this season, especially if Michael's team takes part in the Champions League competition. Most likely, Girona will be like other teams. experienced an increase in performance, then suddenly experienced a decline in the following season. There are several examples of teams in Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga last season, in the following season their performance fell apart. something similar could happen to Girona, especially if they don't deepen their squad to become more competitive to compete, let alone become a top team. We'll see after this competition, and whether Girona gets a ticket to the Champions League. if so, I wouldn't be surprised if their performance plummets next summer.

Currently with a significant increase in performance for Girona, I actually don't think there is a guarantee that players and coaches can all stay for next season because after all, surely with their current performance stealing the attention there will definitely be some players who will eventually be looked at by clubs that could be bigger.

If Girona was able to play more than 27th match from beginning of the season without a loss and they started to fumble just when the season was a about to be over, then I think the players the coach was exploring were tired at the end and because he didn't have much alternatives to switch to, he continues to use the ones he had and because they were exhausted, there is noyhing much for them, they failed to deliver as usual and this is more reason more players are needed to be deployed to Girona especially as they will be going to Champions League next season.

They also look weak in the standing, they had so much opportunity to wider their gap points away from Barcelona but it seems as Barcelona lose their match, so do they. It now look like they are fixed by Barcelona performance. It's will be better they move as soon as possible before Atletico comes and over take them and I'm very sure that would be sad.

Currently Saviola has become their sister club Manchester City and it is not impossible for other players to do the same.
Currently Dovbyk is still very prominent and it is not impossible that after the transfer opens there will be several interested in this player and other players so for the future it should depend on Girona themselves whether they can still maintain the condition of the players and their chemistry or not because if their players leave then I think there is no guarantee they will still have the same performance as now.

On the 11th of April, they are going to play in the Champions League match against PSG. and,
On 14 April they are going to play against Cadiz.

They will have to manage the squad properly so that they will be able to win both of the matches. Because there is no option for them to lose or even draw either of them. I think Barcelona is going to concentrate on the Champions League matches right now. Because Cadiz should be an easy opponent for them. So Barcelona should concentrate on the match on 11th April against PSG. Rotate some players and go against Cadiz with moderate strength and on 17 April play the second leg against PSG with the best squad again. I think that should be the plan for Barcelona right now.
The 3-day break I think is a situation that is not too bad because if you look at the schedule of other clubs in this case who are still in the Champions League like Madrid they also have the same break when they face Manchester City in the Champions League and Mallorca 3 days later in La Liga.

A big club must already know that a break like this can definitely happen where when the schedule is tight then inevitably they must be able to minimize so that the players are not too shortened and this should not be a difficult matter for a big club like Barcelona because this is not the first time they have done it.

It's just that the disadvantage at the moment may be that for Barcelona some of their players are still injured which makes their stock of players thinner which makes this difficult but seeing their opponent is Cadiz I don't think it needs to be worried as long as Xavi can improve the productivity of his attackers' goals then it's not a problem but if their game is the same as against Las Palmas then it will definitely be troublesome.

#Ousmane Dembele expecting ‘great match’ between Barcelona and PSG
Dembele said:
“Yes! It’s wonderful to play in Barcelona and Spain again. I think it will be a great football match,” he told UEFA.
“I would say that I learned a lot [at Barca], on and off the field, thanks to my coaches, but also to the great friends I made there. I don’t know everyone, but I know a lot of people. I learned a lot there.”

If Girona can win in the next three matches, Girona still has a chance to regain second place from Barcelona because Barcelona will face tough opponents in the next three matches. This means that Barcelona also has to win in the next three matches to be able to maintain its position in second place because one of the tough matches for Barcelona will be against Real Madrid. Meanwhile, for Girona, their tough opponent will be against Atletico Madrid in the near future, so that is the match that Girona must win before their next two matches.

Basically, of course Girona will still make their best efforts to maintain theirposition in the top four but I guess, sometimes even though the team has made good efforts too but bad results can still occur any time. Therefore, although greatefforts have been made but if at the same time they are in badluck, then ofcourse defeat is also difficult to avoid. But anyway, about Girona next match against Atletico and although Girona lost but still, the fact is that Girona still has a better point advantage compared to Atletico. So yes, even though if Girona lost by Atletico, but of course Girona will still remain in third place and I think Girona is still fairly safe to still finish in the top four.
The situation faced by Girona is slightly in their favor, especially as they will be safe in the Champions League zone thanks to their consistency at the start of the season. Losing against ATM will not threaten their position, the Mihcel fleet will still have a difference of 4 points later. However, ATM may not necessarily be able to beat Girona, even though they are favorites because they act as hosts.

In fact, in the remaining matches ahead, Girona also has another tough opponent, namely Barcelona, Michel must try to at least achieve a draw in this important match. In the first half of the season, Girona was able to beat ATM and Barcelona, which broke all predictions that thought they would lose points when facing big clubs.

On the other hand, Girona presence this season has made La Liga more interesting. When Barcelona and ATM experienced an unstable season, Girona appeared entertaining by trying to put pressure on Madrid. So I think they deserve appreciation, their hard work has paid off, the result is a ticket to the Champions League.

It is impossible for Girona to let themselves lose and waste opportunities in the next three matches, they will definitely use their best strength to continue to win in every upcoming match. I am very confident that Girona will remain in the top three of the standings. I think the next match, when they play Atletico Madrid, must at least end in a draw so that Girona's points are not chased by Athletic Club. Míchel is already considering the strategy that should be used for the match on April 13th.
In the next three matches that Girona will face, they will be against Atletico Madrid, Las Palmas and Cadiz. Of course, among these three clubs, the toughest will be against Atletico Madrid because Girona will be competing away, a good result that Girona can achieve is winning, but if they are unable to Yes, at least get a draw so that Girona doesn't lose important points in the remaining matches this season. Meanwhile, Barcelona's three matches are against Cadiz, Madrid and Valencia, but Barcelona has two busier schedules competing in the UCL against PSG and this could affect Barcelona, so Girona must take advantage of this moment if Barcelona suffers a defeat, especially against Real Madrid.

The deciding match for both of them to take second place might be when they meet on the field and that will happen soon in May if one of them wins then the difference in points between them will widen and determine who will be second place.

Everyone was impressed, but at the same time I was disappointed because, after the way they had worked hard, they were even topping the table and everyone was like, is this real Madrid or Girona? They just gave people false hope. That is football for you, it is bad to trust some clubs too much or expect such disappointment from them. and with the experience they have gathered, they will do better, next season, this season is already for Madrid. What pained me the most was how Barcelona passed them and led them by two points. It was not a bad performance from them but they would have focused more and become more consistent, and then they could even have had more chances of winning La Liga in the future, Ever since Sevilla became strong, they are still trying and someday Girona will get to that point in La Liga. Other small clubs might supprass them if they don't get serious.

By the way congratulations to Athletic Bilbao on their Copa del Rey victory. I totally forgot about the game while following big games in the Premier League in the meantime.  Grin

I was expecting Athletic Bilbao to win easier than this honestly. Mallorca made them quite big difficulties as it seems. However I believe Athletic Bilbao really deserved this title anyway. This season they are playing at a much higher level. They are trying to take the last spot for the Champions League from Atletico Madrid in the La Liga on one hand you know. I don't feel like they will be successful on that though but let's see whether they can defeat Simeone in the competition.  Smiley

1-1(Regular)
4-2(penalties)

The Athletic club had a lot of chances to score more goals in this match early on. And also in regular time. So if somehow they were unable to actually win this match it would have been very sad for them. But luckily they were able to win and they were pretty lucky. because honestly, penalties can go either way. It was actually surprising the amount of chances that the athletic club had missed in this match. They had actually scored more than once but those were ruled offside by the VAR. So they have been able to win the Copa Del Rey competition.

Now I think they are going to concentrate on getting ahead of Atlético Madrid and finishing in the fourth position of the table in La Liga.
