Girona missed an opportunity to lift a trophy this season after their direct rival, Real Madrid, left the race early in round of 16 in Copa del Rey and after also Barcelona defeat by two goals to four against Athletic Bilbao. The first half was heavy on Girona and although scoring two goals in the second half and facing only ten players, Girona couldn't get the draw.

I think Bilbao will have a good chance in this trophy unless Atletico Madrid overtake them. I doubt Real Sociedad could maintain a good performance until the last game if ever they reached the final match. I don't think also that Mallorca could make another team leave this competition.

Yes that's right. This season's Laliga is more interesting than previous seasons because this season's Laliga has a team like Girona who is ready to compete with Real Madrid. If we look at previous seasons of LaLiga, the only competition was between Real Madrid and Barcelona and sometimes Atletico Madrid, but this season LaLiga is very different and this is very good. Not only in La Liga, other leagues too, in the EPL there is Aston Villa and in the Bundesliga there is Leverkusen who are ready to give a surprise. I think one day Xabi Alanso will coach a team in La Liga, namely Real Madrid.

Coming back to Girona, I found Girona to be amazing. Even though last season they were almost relegated, if I'm not mistaken this season they managed to compete with Real Madrid and even beat Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. I think they will remain consistent even if they don't win but can stay in the top four.

Oh yes, additional information, apart from being owned by Man City Football Group, Girona, the Guardiola family also invested in this club together with Pep's younger brother, Pere, who currently manages it. Michel, their coach is also a Real Madrid legend who is a member of La Quinta Del Buitre.

Yeah there are several reasons for Girona's defeat but whatever the reason I still can't believe Girona missed this game even though they are only a few steps away from reaching the final, maybe Mallorca's 3 goals in the first half surprised the Girona players so it has an impact on the player's mentality this kind of thing often happens in several leagues. Luckily I didn't watch this match, because if I had watched this match I probably would have bet on Girona, now Girona is more focused on competition in La Liga.

Real Madrid was eliminated first, then Girona and Barcelona on the same day, does this mean Atletico Madrid will be the rulers of this tournament? or will we see a surprise from the underdog team? Like Mallorca that surprised us. What is certain is that the Copa del Rey is less interesting without Real Madrid and Barcelona because these two teams are the ones we are most looking forward to.

Yes and while Girona was the far better team in this game, 3 goals was too much for them to catch up again during the game. I think Mallorca really shocked them and when it was 0-3 against them, Girona still didn't give up. I liked their performance and yet it would have been amazing if they had been able to turn the game around. Mallorca did nothing afterwards and I feel they kind of got lucky as well. Getting a 3-0 lead against a team like Girona is much more than they could have hoped for. Yet it is what it is and in the end it was as you said, they were running out of time. If they had a few more minutes, I think they could have made it. Too bad that Girona is out now.

The game between Mallorca and Girona ended in a surprising outcome because there's no way anyone expected Mallorca to win Girona after they have been doing so well in the La Liga and winning all their matches but I guess you are right they didn't take the match seriously maybe because they want to focus more on the La Liga where they are currently topping the league instead of losing concentration playing the copa de rey which can actually affect their performance.

After the previous match, the unexpected result comes between Mallorca and Girona, with the failure of Girona to continue to the next race. because Girona was defeated by Mallorca 3 - 2. Most of us may expect that Girona would be able to win the match if we look at the statistic on la Liga performance. But, the result is as unexpected. This result was also the similar with what happened to Barcelona.

This was exactly sad result for Barcelona. They have failed in Super Cap, they also failed in this Copa del Rey, and they may be also failed in the La Liga to get the top standing. Fortunately, they may be still included in the UCL qualification for the next season. But for this case, their failure in this Copa del Rey against Bilbao, against really made the ashamed at all. Moreover, they were actually leading at first, but then they were failed to maintain the defense and the condition was the opposite. Bilbao really could optimize their chance in the injury time, where most of the players have been weaker, but Bilbo really could utilize every single chance to attack again. The victory of Bilbao from Barcelona brings them to the semi-final. Awaiting for the last match between Atletico Madrid vs Sevilla that is still difficult to predict. Because sometimes, Sevilla also can give any big surprises in certain matches. So, Atletico Madrid must be aware of this and do their best at all if they want to get the victory, never underestimate Sevilla whatever the condition until the match is full time.


 

2 favourite teams have to eliminate from Copa Del tournament today because Girona who always be performing well in Laliga was unable to advances to the semifinal match and against Mallorca most people predict Girona can able to beat Mallorca especially before this match Mallorca performance is so poor but surprisingly today Mallorca has successfully to eliminate Girona with narrow scores and actually after Mallorca player Raillo got a red card Girona almost made epic comeback but Mallorca can able to managed their defense until this match ended

Barcelona also have failed to advances to the semifinal matches today and playing at Bilbao home ground Barcelona actually can leading the game until end of first half but Oihan Sancet can equalized the scores which make the match have to ended draw at the normal time and the match have to continue through an extra time but Bilbao can scores 2 more goals from Inaki Williams and Nico Williams so Barcelona have to to lost 4-2 in this match

Copa del Rey

It's the second half of extra time and Athletic club has earned a third goal through one of their Heroes, Iñaki Williams. It's his 4th goal in the Copa del Rey against Barcelona. This is the guy who traveled all the way from Africa after his Country exited the AFCON recently with all that fatigue to play against Barcelona. What a guy.

I don't see Barcelona going past Athletic Club tonight. They need a huge miracle.

This season is one of the best I have seen since I started watching  Lalliga football,before it was just two teams who were firece rivals to each other,and those teams are Barca and Real Madrid,they were always the two team who will sit first and second on the table,but when I have a flashback of those days,I still found out that they had the two best coaches in the world as at then,and they were Pep Guardiola and Jose Morinho,who was called the special one.But this season,Xabi Alonso took it upon himself to break the yoke,and with the way it is now,they might just be surprised how a new team just came and wants to win the tittle.

No one expected that Girona exit. I probably didn't see it myself. I actually thought it would be n easy win for Giron fpr Mallorca had other plans. I had so much confidence in Girona that despite the fact that they were trailing behind with 3 goals, I still thought they would do a second half comeback amd then Mallorca got a red card and I thought it was going to happen.

It's actually how funny a top team will lose to an underdog only for the underdog to goto the next round and lose.

The copa del Rey game does not mean anything to Girona, the energy they put  in the games was a different one unlike their games in laliga. Girona Girona performance against Mallorca was not poor but they were not lucky to win the game maybe because they didn't play with the winning mindset just like in laliga games. Girona is saving its energy for their games they will be playing in laliga,  I think the laliga title is all Girona is look for and this just their target, that is why they always put a different energy in their laliga games that Normally turns to be victory at the end. Girona performance this season have been really good but I won't be surprise that they lose against Mallorca in today's march

I think they played quite well but they were inconsistent in this match, in other words they fell behind early making it difficult for them to put strong pressure on Mallorca. Girona were three goals behind in the first half so that would have made the situation even more out of control but they were able to score 2 goals but unfortunately it didn't make the final result as they planned because they lost 3-2. But in my opinion they are not too focused on the Copa Del Rey where Michel team will focus their energy only on Laliga. However, statistically they dominated this match in terms of attacks and ball possession.

I hope that Girona players mentality will not be disturbed after being eliminated from the Copa Del Rey because they must remain concentrated to perform better in Laliga as they have shown in previous matches. Girona must focus each match well because the competition is getting hotter because Real Madrid will continue to pose a threat to take the top position in the standings. Apart from that, Michel rotation today had a bad impact on them because he didn't start Dovbyk from the first minute even though Dovbyk is a player who can make a lot of contributions on the front lines.

Weird game for sure but it happens sometimes. Returning from 3-0 is not easy at all. They tried but couldn't finish well. They shouldn't be upset though, this cup is just bonus. They should focus on the league as they are still going great there.
Real Sociedad and Mallorca go to semi finals. I believe these two won't win the cup, it will be either Atletico - Sevilla winner or Bilbao - Barca winner. It's still 2-2 so I'm not sure if Barca advance to next round.

Girona suffers disappointment; no good records will advance to important phases. The numbers do not match up between the two clubs; Girona gave their all to match the scores they deserved, but I believe they fell short. The amazing comeback was cut short because they ran out of time following a 3-2 setback. One of the most resilient games with suspenseful action, I watched Girona dominate and do their best to level the game, but the mistakes made in the first half could not be repaired; conceding three goals in the first half was unquestionably one of the major mistakes they should have circumvented.

I see this is the worst match this season by Girona. Of course I see this defeat as a result of the coach's mistake in applying strategies and tactics in the game because previously their tactics were not like this, especially in choosing the players they played.

If Girona wants the Copa del Rey trophy, they must leave early in the first round with full force. So in the first half they had to deflate the opponent's defense and score a goal of at least 1 or 2 goals then play with changes in players. What happened in this match was the opposite playing with the coating players after conceding three new goals they made a change of players. The mistake of lowering the player's line up made Girona in the first round of the team's disaster. This defeat must be a lesson for Girona and this painful defeat must be quickly forgotten so as not to affect their performance in LaLiga.

No one thought today’s match would be that tough for Girona to have zero goals until after the first half. It was such a disgracing moment for Girona today because there are just a small team that will growing with a nice performance, which makes many people interested in the team making it in this season or even winning the trophy. But to be sincere, today’s game was not funny seeing that the team that is almost the last in the table to win Girona, although it is a game.

Girona need to work on their performance more because having three consecutive goals, even though there is a penalty, is still such an extraordinary performance from Mallorca and a poor performance from Girona, even though they also scored, but they were not about to equalise in the match, which is just a sign of failure.


Too much belief has already been put on Girona in today’s game, which ends up disappointing many people. No one expected this performance from them, and to me, this is a great challenge for Girona to tighten their belt. If not, the difficulties they faced today might continue if they don’t get more serious in their games.

Mallorca tried their best in today's match, even though Girona had more corner kick opportunities than them, and we know that Girona is stronger than them, so Mallorca were able to defeat Girona, which is a good performance for the team. I will say kudos to Abdón Prats, who scored the last two goals before halftime. It was such a nice performance from him.

But man what an unbelievable game was this? I think this was one of the most spectacular games I have seen in a long time. Everything was there, insane twists, red cards, penalties and a high pressure game by Girona for the whole 90 minutes and extra time. But this is a day that Girona would like to forget for sure. They didn't do too many things wrong, but couldn't turn their chances into lots of goals. Girona dominated in all statistics and yet they are now left with empty hands and the first title is gone.

What a sad day for girona,I think the coach  was looking down on mallorca without knowing that mallorca is very tough most times.if you take a look at there wining possibility you will get to know that girona won 5 times and as well 5 for mallorca with 4 draws,haven't know this then I come to realized that this match is not gonna be easy for girona today because there history tells me that mallorca is very tough when it comes to the time of meeting with girona because sometimes history matters a lot mostly  in teams of football.

I also have this strong feeling that girona is gonna drop one day,because they have been playing unbeaten for a very long time,no team was able to defeat them instead they draw the match,unlike there previous meeting because of the red card conceived by one of the player, so in that case they where in short of one yet there opponent still find it difficult to win instead they ended 0:0.

However,my major concern is about those gamblers, I know pretty well that they most have played girona to win,and as well most person can also choose to double chance girona hoping that girona is gonna win or draw,to be in the savers side you just predict that the both team will score that's goal goal or better still you give them over 1.5.

Well mallorca did what i never imagine, there performance today was awesome victory to mallorca.

Well you could say that it was unexpected because we all must have felt that Girona could finish today's match easily considering their performance in La Liga this season is very good and the road in the Copa del Rey is also fairly smooth but the reality is that we actually lost that great expectation because Girona was unable to finish this match with a victory.

Mallorca's defence is very strong and their counter-attacks are really good and we should appreciate them in this regard so this victory is a deserved result for them because their struggle to get a win from Girona was really very tiring and they even had to be willing to lose 1 player who was sent off.
Girona also in the second half was actually more patient and more able to control their attacks so they managed to reduce the gap even though it was not too meaningful because the 3 goals scored in the first half were very difficult for Girona to catch up with Mallorca's defensive scheme which was very tight.

That is why football is unpredictable look how Girona are performing this season you won't believe Mallorca can defeat them in the Copa del Rey, they have lost the trophy let see if they can get the laliga title since they have lost the Copa del Rey they will just focus on the league now and do all there best to get the title, I think Barcelona are getting back to there formal performance they are playing well now and since Real Madrid and Girona are disqualified from Barcelona has hope against Athletico Madrid because Xavi knows how to play them when they meet. Barcelona has optimism against Athletico Madrid because Xavi understands how to play them if they meet in the final. If Barcelona does their best to defeat Athletic Club, I believe they will win the title. Barcelona are playing Darw with Athletic Club and I believe the match will go to extra time since both teams struggle to score goals.
