Girona's performance was more impressive than Athletico Madrid's, because I believe Athletico Madrid can compete with Girona and defeat them, but they fail to do so. I believe Girona is more confident that they can win the La Liga trophy this season, because they defeated Barcelona and even Athletico Madrid, which means they will try their hardest to defeat Real Madrid in the second leg, but it will not be an easy task because Real Madrid are in great form. Real Madrid or Girona will not want to lose any point now, because anyone that mistakenly drop point he will be difficult for him to win the league.

No team has ever won a title for beating Atletico Madrid or Barcelona. I can't remember that the La Liga trophy was handed over when a game ended for a team with a win against any of these two aforementioned teams.
