IMO. Barcelona's biggest problem this season is not just attack and defense, they lack defensive midfielders and for me that position is very important and sought after in the world of football today. I believe that offense is a bit more important lately because when your defense is good, but offense loses the ball quite often, defense can defend for so long, they can't be great. I mean last season they were scoring goals, or at least keeping the ball, and that meant that they weren't giving the defense all that much work, and when there was an attack, their defenders did the best they could and they were wonderful.

It is not the same as having 5 shots on your goal versus 10 shots, if you have just 5 shots, you may defend it, if you have 10 or 15, then one may go in. That's why it is more about midfield and offense, they need to do better to keep their possession and do not let the other team counter attack if they could. For that to happen I feel like they need to do a lot better with other positions, like for example Lewandowski is not doing that great at all, they could potentially sell him at the end of the season and find someone that could be quicker and more passing oriented to bring the whole team into the play.

Promoting players from the academy they have is one solution to make them have good players, it is difficult to get potential young players, but it is not impossible that there are players who can make a difference to them. now if you rely on players they have to buy first it is something that is difficult with their current finances, especially if you want quality players of course they have to spend more money.
Their source of income is limited and they have to adjust too, because if not maybe they will feel a worse crisis. They must immediately find a solution to the problems they currently feel.

But honestly, I don't see Barcelona or Atletico Madrid taking the top 2 spots. Barcelona's current state is very bad. Lewandowski is not in form, they are struggling with their forwards and defense. Atletico Madrid probably has a chance but it will be very low. As I have said, if Girona cannot keep up their winning consistency, Atletico Madrid will get a chance. A team whose performance I am surprised by this season is Sevilla. They are in the 15th spot while they used to play Europa League/ Champions League each season. Barcelona problem will not allow them to win this trophy again because, Girona has showcased some evidence that make people to believe that the trophy will not pass Girona and Real Madrid because they have the same points and their next game will determine if Real Madrid have the strength to lead the la Liga league table for long. Atletico Madrid did wonders in their last game to take over the 3rd position from Barcelona and, it really show how weak Barcelona are in this season because they were toping the la Liga league table through out last season to win the battle to lift the trophy that made many of their players became popular in the whole world.

It looks like it, but Girona haven't convinced me to win the league this season. But if PIF gives Girona money to spend on players, then maybe Girona will be stronger. But if Atletico, Barcelona are able to improve their performance, it will make it difficult for Girona to compete too. It's always difficult to predict, even earlier this season I didn't see Girona reaching the top 5.

I somewhat agree with you. It doesn't look like the Girona team is inexperienced. We are seeing good performances from them in every match. Especially against teams like Barcelona, the boys of Girona have played well. But winning the La Liga title is very difficult. Good performance has to be maintained from the beginning to the end of the season. And in the past years we have not seen any team other than Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid have been able to maintain the consistency of performance for such a long time. If Girona can play consistently well until the end of this season, it will certainly be a huge achievement for them. But personally I think it is very unlikely.

What xavi can do to improve the team? I meant he has been also using a lot of money to did some improvments but the formation keeps change and this is his problem with barcelona. Barcelona will not able to give him more money to buy the players.
I kinda feel that if xavi run out of solution caused by there will be a lot of players to have their contract running out at the end of season. Meanwhile, barcelona is still under the big debts that must be paid by the club. Im sure xavi is confusing to think about the best solution to save barcelona.
Selling a lot of players become the last option owned by him but this is absolutely destroying the performance from the current squad caused by some players must leave from barcelona soon. This is why i have been waiting for solution from xavi.
