Even though they still have plenty of time to gain a few more points, Barcelona's performance is no longer like last season, so currently there is no clear certainty regarding Barcelona. Girona will show that they are capable of fighting teams that often win world championships, and it will be Girona's turn to win this season.

All this for Girona’s sake, they definitely deserved all the good praise they are receiving now. Girona have shown confidence in their self and it has given them an edge over other big teams in the La Liga that don’t expect much from them. I am not going to say that they are not worthy contenders of the La Liga title but they need to take things more serious if they will get the opportunity to do so. This won’t be the first time that underperforming or undervalued teams will come from no where and win the title, it happened to Leicester in the premier league, so it can still happen in this league too.

I think Girona has a big chance to finish this season in UCL zone. They already showed us that they could maintain their good performance against strong team like Barcelona. If they don't lose focus or experience severe injuries, no doubt Girona will stay in the top 4 or top 3 of La Liga. During this first half of the season, they play consistently until now. Girona are not playing in the Champions League, maybe next year if they can maintain their form. Barcelona lost to Girona because they failed to take advantage of many opportunities, while Girona won the match because they were able to defend better and take advantage of their opportunities. Moreover, Barcelona does not have a goalkeeper of the same quality as Stegen, so their defense and chances of conceding are much higher.

Barcelona is also not finished and Girona is not sure that they will be able to occupy the top position until the end of the season. The competition is better if no one team dominates, but you will not fail even if you have many achievements in the previous season. Correction again man Barcelona were knocked out of the Champions League by Antwerp, Girona only beat Barcelona in LaLiga away from home.

Girona are currently on an upward trend as they continue to win effectively and beat the big boys, they have managed to stay up to date and are two points clear of Real Madrid at the bottom of the table.
This week Girona will play Alaves at home and it's safe to say they can win.

Valencia vs Barcelona is a doubtful win for Barcelona.

Nothing has changed, the odds are still the same. We should not forget that Madrid experienced surprising points losses. They should not lose points while pursuing Girona. They no longer have this chance. Losing points is a problem for them. Spanish football this year is different, I've been watching quite interesting and boring matches all through. Barcelona will settle for lesser position this season, they're inconsistent in their performance and winning becomes very difficult for them to maintain this season. Girona and Real Madrid are the main contenders for the La Liga title this season and none of these elite clubs are ready to record losses in matches except they want to give up the title run and on a second thought, who want to give up on the title chase? Nobody I think.

I won't write off Barcelona so easily from winning the league this season. The truth is that Real Madrid, Girona and Barcelona all the the chance to win the league. Every club have a dip in form at any point every season. 7 points behinds the league leaders is not enough to write them off. Real Madrid and Girona will definitely lose points. For now the league is still very open for the three clubs to lay claim to the league. Xavi is a winner and I know he will work out his way.

Yeah it's actually surprising to see a mid table team doing so well to lead the table this season. If things goes like this then might be able to lead the table till the end and lift the trophy. Yes it's still very hard as they are just halfway through and have to maintain same level of consistency till the end. They are just leading the table with few points and don't have that much cushion in case they drop points. Madrid are the closest one and they are very good with consistency so if they make any mistake then they will pave the way for Madrid to overtake them on the table.
