Barcelona's match against Osasuna has 10 minutes left and it looks like this game will end in a goalless draw. Even though Barcelona had benefited greatly with one of Osasuna's players getting a red card in the first half, it seems that Xavi's squad can't do anything even to score 1 goal, they are having a hard time. On the other hand, Osasuna, who only played with 10 people, actually performed quite well with a very strong defense. Complete possession of the ball is on the Barcelona side with 76% and Osasuna with only 24% for now. But this domination doesn't seem to mean anything to Barcelona and let's wait to see if one of these teams can score a goal or not at the end of the match.
The match ended and only 1 goal was scored in this match and even then in the last 10 minutes.
It's quite interesting what Osasuna did in this match, they were very good at defending even though they played with 10 players in this match.
Too bad they had to concede a goal in the 85th minute otherwise it would have been better for them.
Barcelona took 3 points hard against 10 men in this game on the other hand Lewandowski failed to keep away from Benzema of course it would be great if Benzema came back close to scoring against Sociedad today.
If you were to look at Barcelona's statistics from the games they have already played, you would discover that they are not making a lot of an effort to score more than one goal in a match. They are a lot less anxious now because they aren't worrying about scoring many goals to win their remaining games. Since they already leading the LaLiga table by 14 points over Real Madrid. One goal is acceptable for them to keep the winning pace rolling for being the champions of the Laliga 2022/2023 season.
I don't think that was the point, they weren't planning to score more than one goal but they did struggle there.
The chances they created were many and indeed it shows that they keep trying it's just that the results in the last few matches were not as expected.
They still have difficulty in maintaining the productivity of their goals. On the other hand, this is actually not a problem for now because Madrid really doesn't really intend to chase and prioritize other things over La Liga.
actually real madrid's performance in their laliga is not too serious anymore after they failed in the race for the Laliga title, I agree with you that the place in the laliga that madrid is after is to be the leader of the standings and the champion at the end of the season and they don't care if they finish the season in 4th place if they lose again next week.
The second or fourth positions in the La Liga standings are actually not much different because they are still in the UCL zone, so that makes Real Madrid have the option to look after the core players who are being hit by injuries. I think the only pressure Real Madrid will feel in the near future apart from the UCL game is the Copa Del Rey final even though the opponent will be Osasuna.
Even though this is indeed no different, I think there is still prestige that must be maintained.
Madrid was last in third place in the 2018 season and of course it's been quite a while so they really don't want to let their position be overtaken again even though in this case the champion position already belongs to Barcelona but for position 2 they shouldn't give up that either.
Even though the results remain the same in terms of tickets to the Champions League, prestige remains the differentiator.
