The match between Mallorca and Bilbao was certainly an interesting one. It did finish as a draw. But in the end, it was really very interesting. Actually thought that Mallorca was going to win the match. Even though I knew it was going to be hard for them to hold on to the one goal lead that they have.
After all, Bilbao had huge control over the possession of the ball. It was certainly a little too late from Bilbao to actually appear on the scoreboard. But it was good to see that they were able to get 1 point from this match.
Now my question is, is there a realistic chance for Bilbao to finish in the top six?
It was really interesting. I also did think Mallorca would try and hold on to their one goal till the end. But it seems the pressure and the constant attacks made them cave in. It was definitely going to be hard for them to hold on to their one goal lead as Bilbao was in total control of the game and dominated the stats. Having more of the ball, it is only normal they would create a good chance that would lead to a goal and that was what they did.
It was a really late goal for Bilbao that enabled them to have a draw. But a draw is always better than a loss as a late goal is better than no goal. They didn’t relent and it was not until the final moments of the game that they had gotten an equalizing goal.
