The two top La Liga teams in the previous week suffered the same defeat. But in yesterday's match Real Madrid and Barcelona won again over their opponents. Sometimes it's funny to see the competition between these two teams getting the same results in the last 2 matches.
With this result there is no significant change in the standings and the opportunity to win La Liga this season is still entirely in Barcelona's hands. I think both teams need to be more consistent in the next matches because maintaining a position is much more difficult this season considering that many unexpected things have happened.
I don't expect Barcelona to drop many points the rest of the season even though I'm a Real Madrid fan.
I know it looks ridiculous to hope for, but sometimes there are opportunities that can actually be exploited so that the point gap in the competition between these two teams is not too wide. If Real Madrid lead the standings with a high difference in points compared to Barcelona last season, then this season is the opposite. Barcelona left us with 11 points, but I believe we can reduce this gap even lower.
After the season has entered its final stage and the competition for the title and Champions League zone seems less tight anymore, then another interesting focus is on the team that will be relegated at the end of the season. There are at least 5 teams that are still struggling to survive in La Liga next season, and these five have points that are not much different.
Yes I think the La Liga title race is over and 99% belongs to Barcelona. However, in my opinion, some of the results of the match did not have a major effect on El Barca's position at the top of the standings. With a large enough point difference with its competitors, it certainly makes the remaining matches of the season no longer interesting to enjoy.
For this season Barcelona will be La Liga champions, but I really hope Real Madrid is obliged to win the Copa del Rey title. I certainly really hope these two teams meet again in the Spanish Super Cup.
