Indeed there were many internal problems but if you are a big club you should overcome them.
The most serious problem in Barcelona was the one with the coach - we saw in the past similar situations with players being disrespectful to coaches (such as the situation with Sarri and Chelsea) but big clubs have boards that can treat those situations successfully.

There are several accusations of financial mis-management at Barcelona. They have signed many players but are still relying on the older team. And most of them complaining about not getting paid. And all the Catalonian drama. There is clearly visible fracture on the team regarding locals and rest of Spain. And it was the same in it's history and is not going anywhere soon.
With Messi in team, they are still a balanced team but they need to plan it right to defeat their competitor Real Madrid.

Yes. But this season doesn't look like it's going to be any better, even with a new coach. Barcelona are really in a transition period now. They've shipped out a lot of players that they didn't want, making huge financial losses on them as well... but they've not really brought new players in to replace them. They really look like a shadow of themselves at present. You can't see them challenging this year. And there is still the question of just how committed to the cause their star player Messi is going to be, after he was effectively forced to stay against his will.

I think Suarez can make a difference in La Liga and with Atletico Madrid.May be they are not going to win La Liga this year but I think they are going to be top contenders for the title.Suarez is a goal machine and he has showed it in every team that he has played.Furthermore the internal problems of Barcelona can probably make Barcelona to make errors more than usual during this year in La Liga.

You are right. Suarez's effect isn't enough to win La Liga Trophy, he is not a superhero or something like that. Moreover, Suarez just played for Atletico for the first season, we shouldn't expect too much on this. Let's see what he can do in this first season, he still needs time to adapt to his new teammates. Anyway, winning a trophy is about the performance of all squads. I don't believe to win La Liga just rely on a single player. It is impossible for me!!

This season is a very good one, after many seasons for Atletico to win the La Liga trophy. Real Madrid's squad is ageing and is in end of their career. Barcelona has their unfixed troubles with defense system and now it will turn to be problems with their midfield area (Busquet has no longer been able to give them good game control ability).

Atletico spent their last season to rebuild their squad. Godin left, Griezman left, Joao Felix and some few others joined and got time to get familiar with La Liga. This season they have L. I agree with your idea. Actually, Simeone can try to change the formation to 4-4-2, with the strikers Suarez & Costa to play together as starters. I assume with this formation, Atletico will play more attacking. It should be worth to try, why don't to optimize the potential of those good strikers? Their defenders are strong enough, they just need to improve the front liners.

I would say that bigger problem that Barcelona have €488 million debt, it was announced today. €0.5 billion, Carl!

Debt is not surprising news. All of Bartolomeu's policies have led to such consequences. High salaries, dark schemes when buying players. I hope Barcelona will be able to get out of this crisis with dignity. But the consequences will hamper the development of the team for a long time.

Yeah, don't know why the hate myself. Sevilla's a good team and they have a good defence. Either side could have won it and it's a fair thing to say that both proved why both are in the running for the title.

I'm just wondering why other teams aren't taking advantage of the fact that both Barcelona and Real Madrid teams are not performing as they used to. Since that's the case, I was thinking teams like Athletico madrid or Sevilla would capitalize on it and win the title since it's been long both of them have won it. Instead, Sevilla is happy to trail Real Madrid and Atletico is fine with settling for draws.

The performance this season has been nothing to write home about from all top teams. I hope they improve so laliga becomes interesting to watch again.
