That decision of Bartomeu was long overdue. He should have made it months ago when the whole Barcagate story where made public. Finally he is gone. Now it will be interesting if this will bring some new development in the whole Messi story. Maybe now that Bartomeu is gone he'll decide to stay at Barca till the end of his career?

Josep Maria Bartomeu has resigned as Barcelona president on Tuesday, rather than await a fans' vote of confidence on his future at the club, sources told ESPN.

The rest of the board of directors have stepped down alongside Bartomeu, and an election will be scheduled within the next 90 days to appoint a new president.

Lol That escalated quicklier than I originally thought.

I knew something serious was going to happen. Either the president or Messi. One of them had to go.

In my opinion, Real Madrid will bet on Laliga this year. There are more chances to defend the title than it is to take the Champions League; Barcelona is as weak as ever and other rivals are showing volatility.

Don't rush... It is still early on the championship.
Barcelona is volatile right now but who knows if Real Madrid is going to be more volatile than Barcelona in March.
We are in the very beginning and you cannot conclude on the title winner. Also, Barcelona can make crucial signings on the January window transfer and reform the whole team...

Such a contradiction: twenty-two guys can sweat, run, hug each other, breath in front of others while millions will be locked up in their houses.
This is a farce, really.

One little question,

If I'm not wrong, Spain will go into lockdown tonight. How will it affect the Liga? In a first moment, it seems that displacements will be allowed for work, so players will be able to travel and play, but what happens if in a few weeks/months the measures toughen? Will the Liga be suspended?

And on the other hand, the stadiums are empty, how long do you think some teams can stand with the subsequent decrease of income?

Football activities wouldn't be stopped like the other time, players are being tested on a daily basis to ascertain the  level of symptoms they might be showing towards Covid-19, when a particular player is tested positive he would be taken into isolation similar to the cases of Mane and Ronaldo. I think in a case where match tickets are not been sold for revenue to be generated by clubs, the TV right would be sold higher to be able to cover up.
indeed there are some players who have contracted Covid but they can be healthy again in just a matter of days because I believe they are athletes who have adequate nutritional intake and have a very strong metabolism so they will quickly recover from it, and so far I see there are still many games going on. because it is impossible if it is postponed for longer, the match will still be carried out even though there are no spectators who see the stadium directly but they viewers can see it live on several Streaming TV channels without having to order tickets, because if you use ticket purchases to stream it will be seen complicated.

Well, well, well, Barcelona lose their opening game. I didn’t see that coming! Obviously it won’t cause too much of a massive problem in their efforts to be champions again but they must bounce back in their next game.
Barcelona rely too much on Messi as their attacker, the results are like now, I think Barcelona lacks creativity in midfield because the flow of the ball to Messi was almost non-existent during the El Clasico match yesterday. After releasing Ivan Rakitic to Sevilla the Barcelona midfield has not looked good even though De Jong is there, Pjanic has also not been able to contribute to Barcelona's midfield. The body balance of the Barcelona attacker is also very weak, this can be seen from Ansu Fati, whose posture is very small and cannot get past the defense of Sergio Ramos and Varane, Koeman must dare to find a good and strong attacker if he wants to stay longer at Barcelona.

It is the important period and a biggest test for the loyalty and love of Messi for Barcelona.
Agree with you. Now, it depends on him how he responds to this loyalty test. Barcelona will be the only club for him during his professional career. Or he tried to move to another club before he decides to retire from football career. Personally, I really support him to stay and make Barcelona be the only club for him till retiring. Then, people will admire Messi not only for his achievement or special style in playing but also for his loyalty to the club. It will be a perfect ending, right?
It is what we are talking about loyalty and I agree with your opinion too. Messi should stay to be an ever-lasting legendary player of the club. One more Champions League, one more Ballon D'or won't make Messi become a greater player. However, his mood is important and it is challenging to play when he does not feel happy with a ball on the field. Complicated but it is all up to Messi, how he feels and how he decides.

But it is very unfortunate if they decide to get rid of tiki-taka totally. AFAIK, tiki-taka is Barcelona special style in playing football. If they totally move to another one, they are likely to lose their identity. IMO, the solution is to improve classic tiki-taka to a modern form of tiki-taka. It will be interesting if they can be successful to show a new style of tiki-taka.
Barcelona tried to change, tried to get rid of tiki-taka but they actually did not. Their tactics in latest seasons is a mix of tiki-taka and some other tactics. It is why they failed and slipped to the downhill. Their transfer strategies and contracts are terrible.

These restrictions won't affect La Liga because they are already playing in empty stadiums. I think it's very unlikely that football will be stopped again as it was stoppedin spring.
Playing without spectators is big hit for clubs, but it's better than not to play at all. I think La Liga clubs will survive it somehow, they get big revenue from TV. But for lower divisions clubs matchday income from sold tickets is main source of money, so these times is very difficult for them.

Their tactics, tiki-taka is outdated and they are not able to upgrade it.

I have said before and I will say it again, Barcelona is not the Barcelona we remember, they are playing very young kids and that is a great idea for the future of Barcelona as well and I was happy to see them on the pitch today, but Madrid is not in a rebuilding phase, they are decent and they continue to dominate the league whereas Barcelona is trying to get a whole new team nowadays, they almost lost Messi this off-season as well and only reason why that didn't happen was the fact in the contract and that was it.

So long story short if you do not see barça at top 3 this year, do not be shocked I know it is rarely ever the deal but that is going to happen this year, that is at least what I am predicting. I said Madrid would won and wagered heavily and quite happy with the result.

I agree with you that Barcelona, which currently plays too many young players, and different from Barcelona, which we are familiar with
many star players. So Barcelona deserves to lose against Real Madrid, although it is hard for me to admit that your prediction is likely to
come true. Barcelona may not be in the top 3 this season, I hope Barcelona can bring in 1-2 experienced players. Or maximizing some of
the senior players in their current squad, by giving them more opportunities to play.

Barcelona needs at least one striker, one central defender and one defensive midfielder. Unfortunately, Pique needs to be changed. and Busquets too. These players are unlikely to show their best performance. And there is no replacement for them.

What is going on with LaLiga as we barely see goals and one man show and even El Classico felt like he had no juice in order to satisfy the fans and ratings for that game speaks for themselves. If ATL Madrid and Real Madrid will dominate this year and battle for the tittle, I see no reason for Messi not to leave Barcelona as UCL seems a forbidden dream in 2020-21.
A Madrid did their rebuild project last season. I meant they went ahead of Barcelona and Real Madrid. They have better team and better preparation for this season.

I thought Koeman would sort out a broken team like Barcelona. Barcelona will get back their old reputation. Koeman is a good coach. Everyone is very optimistic about him.
Hope he will be able to give the Barcelona team back the previous respect.

Who knows? Only Messi and God know about it.
But in my opinion, if he leaves the team while the team is really needed him, it is not a wise decision. I know it is his right to leave or stay, but he is the captain now. The captain has the responsibility to keep the team in good condition and motivate all players to struggle all out till the end of the season. So, it is not the right time to think about leaving or staying in Barcelona, now it is the time to show dedication and hard effort to the club.
I dunno. It is the important period and a biggest test for the loyalty and love of Messi for Barcelona. He has grown with them, has a debut with them, won dozen of titles with them (as a team and as a player) and become a legendary in the club. But things have been worse since the last season of Enrique. No one can say what Messi is really feeling and thinking about and what is his plan after all for the drama.

The only thing I can say Messi has his biggest test so far and he must go through it by himself, stay or leave, it is a one-way decision. I fully respect him when he decided to stay at the club and does not want to bring Barcelona to the court.

What is going on with LaLiga as we barely see goals and one man show and even El Classico felt like he had no juice in order to satisfy the fans and ratings for that game speaks for themselves. Will Messi leave the club after this season,

Regarding the bad performance of Barcelona, guys why all of you blame the coach or strikers or even young players? IMO, it is not about them. The problem: they have no good midfielders as Xavi or Iniesta anymore. Those midfielders who can deliver accurate passings, control the game, and push the opponent's players to stay in their area. In the last season, Barcelona has Ivan Rakitić, but unfortunately he already leaves the club.

Though that was a controversial penalty but Madrid will take it. Was it a penalty?
It was a controversial one.
Ramos made 2 faults that wasn't counted against Lenglet because he continued to play like nothing happened and referees didn't see it. Then Lenglet pulled Ramos's shirt which was an obvious obstruction, however Ramos love dramatising the situation a bit and acted like he was in the pool.
Anyway it is Barcelona fault for not scoring, so crying about the VAR being always against them will not fix their problemS!
