Damn forgot about the game and I messed it.

Why Atletico sucks so much this year? They were on our Champion's league group and they don't impress at all.

I mean they lost key players but they got Joao and other decent players, Idk why they didn't' spend all the money tbh, they have 60m on the bank.

Atletico Madrid are now 13 pts behind the leaders, and they could potentially drop to 7th but only if Valencia and Real Sociedad win their games. Reminder: Simeone is the highest paid manager in Europe LOL  Grin
ATM is a good team and Simeone is one of the best managers, it is true they have problems to win lately but Real Madrid game today wasn't very easy too.
Valencia and Real Sociedad games this weekend are way easier than ATM so yeah its rank may drop to 7 likely

@toma you really think Barca will drop out in the next Copa round?
Why yes, i do think they're gonna get KO'd..haven't you seen Barca in away games? They've been awful, and against Athletic at San Mamés? Odds are totally against Barcelona.

I hope Real Madrid will win this game because I bet that Real Madrid will win this game

Btw, not a single comment about the Madrid Derby tomorrow. smh  Undecided Atletico have been pretty underwhelming lately, but over the last few years they've always managed to put up a good fight at the Bernabeu. I'm expecting a draw.

Don't talk about that word "Draw". I hope Real Madrid will win this game because I bet that Real Madrid will win this game

current result:

Real Madrid - Atletico Madrid ( 0 - 0 )

The game is in the 40 minutes

This year, Real Madrid is gonna win the league as Barcelona seem to moved their focused only on Champions League. Real - ATL Madrid 0-0 first 20 minutes so far and Real is playing better so I wouldn't be surprised if Real scores until the break. Any predictions for Valencia please ? I know that Valencia likes to have good and bad periods on the same time so if they had 3 winning games they will lose the next 2 and make a draw....

Don't support anyone but today I'll hope for Atletico to somehow overcome an inform Real. They actually have a pretty impressive track record compared to anyone else outside the top 2 for the past 2 seasons, so I'm counting on them to help peg back the current league leaders! @toma you really think Barca will drop out in the next Copa round?

Copa del Rey quarter-finals draw was held earlier today:

Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad
Athletic Bilbao vs Barcelona
Granada vs Valencia
Mirandés vs Villareal

Teams in bold are the ones I think will advance to semi finals.

Barca is most unlucky in Copa. Athletic is always tough oponent at San Mames, especially considering how we play away this season.
Villarreal maybe is the most lucky, but Mirandes is dangerous, they beat Sevilla 3:1 yesterday.
About Madrid derby - Atletico is awful in recent weeks, but I'm not sure that really matters when it comes to derby. It's impressive thing that they haven't lost at Bernabeu for 6 years.

I'm expecting Real Madrid to come out top as usual. Athletico Madrid performances have not been up to par this season. They're currently placed at 5th position, 10 points away from title leaders – Real Madrid. At best, Athletico Madrid would only get a point from that game as real Madrid is trying to get far away from Barcelona's grip.

I wouldn't change much, except that I expect Barcelona to advance against Athletic Bilbao, they're tough opponents of but, over the course of two legs, the team with the greater depth in their squad would have an advantage.
I expect Real Sociedad to be a tougher opponent for Real Madrid than Athletic Bilbao would be for Barcelona.

Btw, not a single comment about the Madrid Derby
I could go one further by predicting a goalless draw, Madrid has been more prolific in front of goal, but the atmosphere of the derby would make both teams cautious and hence a very tight game.

There is a huge difference between "Messi didn't played so they had hard time" when Messi played and they scored 5, and also saying "if Messi didn't played they would have hard time", because the first one doesn't make ANY sense at all, the second one can be understandable.

Barcelona played games without Messi before, dude has been playing for 100 years now (or feels like it) so I am pretty sure he missed a ton of games combined and Barcelona had to play without him as well, he just is a great player that you can never replace, he could have been in any team in the world and when he retires that team would have hard time finding someone.

Best case to do in those situations is to improve as a team instead of trying to find one player that will be as good as Messi, that might at least ease the pain, their defense is already top notch but I would change the whole attacking line if Messi ever leaves and get much better world star people instead.

Barcelona got another win on home but again their play style didn't surprise me.
I expected more goals from them and it is obvious that if Messi is missing from the line up, then the team finds a lot of difficulties even when playing with weaker team such as Osasuna or Leganes.

How many more goals did you want? 10 or 20?

Barcelona scored 5, conceded none. Maintained 74% possession. Had 9 shots on target. Both central defenders were superb, especially Lenglet. Semedo was class-apart yesterday. 4 different players scored goals. I agree to some extent that team is extra-dependent on Messi to create chances but that isn't much concern for now. Yesterday's game was perfect performance from Barca. 10/10.

That can happen for other reasons as well and not only because Messi is not playing.Barcelona don’t have to scratch to full power against lower and weaker teams. They conserve power for bigger events and are happy with the win even if it is a narrow win.

Naida Messi DID play. Should not pay attention to what Naida says, he never responds to messages and always posts a bit weirdly.

And I have no idea what you guys are on about. Messi played. Scored twice and one assist, and Barca had a huge and easy win. They weren't conserving an power at all. Were we watching the same game even?

We are talking in theory,if Messi misses a game was saying Naida and I replied to him on the suppose that Messi was not to play.

We are used to see Barcelona score more than that against weaker teams,at least I am so maybe we have different point of views regarding the analyze of the game.

I don't want Barcelona to be far behind Real Madrid, Barca still put forward its main players even though Suarez is injured, still Barca's game can still be overcome.

Don't worry because it seems that destiny is in favor of barcelona:

Barcelona - Levante ( 02/02/2020 )

Barcelona - Betis ( 09/02/2020 )

It will be two very easy games that Barcelona will win  Grin

Believe me. I have seen Barca at Mestalla last week. Nothing's safe with this team at this moment. You can expect practically anything from the club that has been in a crisis and now is in the process of rebuilding and returning good vibes. It's still a long way from home for Barcelona.

I think that it was very wrong to sack Valverde.
The problem was not the manager but the fact that the team has become kind of old. (Pretty similar to Real Madrid, during the last seasons). They need to bring young talents and build the team on them, not keep relying on Messi and Suarez.

The thing is nobody accepts that the squad is ageing and instead everyone prefers to blame ex coach valverde whenever Barcelona loses.

I think the squad will indeed perform against low blockers, the challenge though is when they face high pressers or squads that demands the ball conservatively like Valencia did to them

A good win and a morale lifting performance I will say

^  Careful now...  These 'easy games' are where big clubs make fatal mistakes.  Look at Man City at the EPL.  And Barca isn't exactly invincible this season too.  They've had their share of unexpected losses with the reverse fixture vs Levante being one of them.

I don’t know what’s wrong with Barca this season, they’re not at the sort of level you become accustomed to seeing them at. A few of their main players are past their peak so maybe it’s that. They need a big rebuild.

But we can't deny the fact that they haven't lost a single game at home since 13th November 2018, yes, 14 months unbeaten at home! So maybe the problem is not in team or coach but the mentality of players only. Maybe some kind of phobia have developed when they play outside Camp Nou. Or maybe they have bad away tactics like only attack on counters if not playing at Camp Nou. Or maybe Barca players desperately need fans shouting in support. It can be anything but problem is turning serious.

They have to strictly start following same tactical play both at home and away matches. Also Setien has to develop some gameplan to convert possession into chances. Passing balls hundred times in triangle at half way line doesn't win match, midfielders have to pass balls through defensive line so that front 3 can finish. Also, Griezmann needs to adapt to team as soon as possible. It almost become unbearable to see him standing clueless in off-side position when Messi building attacks.

There’s no doubt that Barcelona have a strong record while playing at home but in recent times they have not been performing well, and I would blame their ex coach Valverde for this as his tactics have ruined the winning mentality that Barcelona once possessed. It’s pertinent to note that Seiten will take a long time to rebuild the players mentality, as it’s not easy to take over a team in the mid season and then suddenly turn them into champions again.
