Such an unfair decision for Valverde.
He won twice the La Liga title and has kept Barcelona on a competitive level this season as well. Always, the manager is blamed about the bad results of a team even if it is not his fault.

Valverde was bullied out of barcelona, perhaps because he doesnt talk much.
His made poor decisions like any other coach, but he has done a fantastic job.

he lost neymar and got dembele.,
lost xavi and got vidal

i cant really blame the valverde, lets see what the new coach does

Valverde did the best he could at that moment, he became a hero of the match and deserves many more minutes.
Sometimes such a move in that situation would mean winning the team that got the red card as we saw, the players were encouraged and confident, and Valverde contributed the most.

Valverde had spent out his time in Barcelona in my opinion and the club needed a change in style and management. His 2.5 years at Barcelona looks good on paper with the trophies won and matches unbeaten, but the philosophy was fizzling out and the club was struggling to dominate games, too this with humiliating exits from the UCL two seasons running.
And yes, the manager is to blame in situations like this especially with the amount of talent in the current squad.

Actually Valverde isnt too bad to continue to be a coach at Barcelona. It is just that Barcelona might not let them again fail to get the UCL title this season. Their fear is very clear because two years in a row they clearly failed to get the most out of the championship.

I think Barcelona really want to win the UCL and Laliga titles this season and even they are targeting threeble winner for one full season. But as a fan, I have few doubts about their new coach. Not something fantastic, but lets we see, hopefully the club has shown the right coach for their players.

Perhaps because his philosophy was not in line with Barcelona's expectations and also with his defeat at supercopa by Atletico Madrid, it made Valverde coaches have to accept this pressure, because many barcelona fans no longer wanted Valverde to be Barcelona's coach and wanted to find a new candidate to return to club glory Barca.
Valverde is indeed a little pragmatic in compiling his game scheme. But he gave the title La Liga 2 consecutive seasons for Barcelona. Now playing well though not necessarily able to continue to win. Indeed, it needs a balance on all fronts because football is increasingly competitive. Maybe the Barcelona owners are somewhat hesitant about Valverde's trip in the champions league. Because of Barca's main target, I'm sure they are after the champions league. I just saw messi's parting post on Instagram. He wishes Valrverde the best in the future wherever he trains.

^  The United board prolly realized they needed a rebuild all along.  It's not the manager, it's...  Ed Woodward!  Lmao.  He needs to be taken away from club player transfers and anything that has anything to do with the squad.

Valverde sacked and Quique Serin in. Ernesto did his best with Barcelona but he was not the right man for the job.
Setién was successful at Real Betis, remarkably taking lots of points from the top teams in the league. He has the Barcelona policy of attacking football and strivingg to keep as much of the possession as possible.

Valverde's sack was long overdue but it's yet early in the season and Barcelona are not far behind in the different competitions, and are indeed still leading the laliga table. Setién would have a new challenge managing a dressing room filled with lots of world class players. I'm optimistic for the future.
As a Manchester United fan I am still wondering why Solksjaer is still at his post when the team is playing so poorly and they are so inconsistent but Barcelona should know one thing that Messi isn't going to last forever and no player even Neymar isn't going to play like the way he does. So that high expectations that they have for every manager since Messi was in his prime should definitely stop.

Quique Setien appointed as a temporary manager as it seems xavi will be ready to accept the job in the summer.
fun fact that Quique Setien's real betis is the only team that can beat barcelona at the camp nou since 2018 , the score was 3-4.

i bet everybody have no idea who the f is he lol
his coaching history does not really impressive unless for that beating barcelona t the camp nou.
in data and facts Quique Setien has faced 7 times with Barcelona, 6 defeats with 1 victory, even though during Quiati Setien's trainer he has never won any titles.
there is a possibility he became a coach of Barcelona just because of 1 win at Camp Nou? I like seeing the same case in Takumi Minamino when he scored a goal against Liverpool, and finally, he became a Liverpool player.
that is why i say it is as a fun fact, not a serious appointment consideration.

he also former player of atletico madrid and racing santander played as a central midfielder , pretty productive with 95 goals out of 518 appearences.
i am sure he is not more than just a caretaker while waiting better option to come.

3 lost 4 draw 12 win this season with valverde as a coach.
what could setien gives in the rest of 19 league la liga matches?
he should not have worse stats or the coach switch seems useless.
the selection of coach is a bit strange in my opinion, XAVI was initially a warm conversation to be the next coach but he refused.
I don't care about statistics when he is a player, but I need to look at his coaching statistics. Quique Setien was even fired by a real betis and it would be impossible if this was only an alternative to getting better, because he was given a contract until 2022.

This is very shocking news. Barcelona fired their coach even though they are still competing in La Liga and the champions league. Is this purely due to the defeat against Atletico Madrid in the Spanish super Coppa semifinals? I doubt it a little ... I think Barca fired Valverde more because the game system that is carried out by Valverde is not in accordance with the philosophy of the Barcelona club itself

I have watched lot of games of Betis when Setien managed them. He achieved 6th place in the league, but in next season something went fundamentally wrong with the team. They also didn't had good forward then.
But Setien is perfect manager for Barca style. But the main problem that he have even less experience in top teams than Valverde. Betis was biggest club in his career so far. Before he managed just Las Palmas and some lower division teams. He might be perfect choice for average team, but I hope that he won't fail in Barcelona.

While Real Madrid is celebrating after won the Spanish super cup then Barcelona has got another bad news for the rest of this season, It's must be a huge blow that Suarez will not able to play rest of the season, It's not the first one, Already three players have gone under the injury so it's not a good sign for themselves. Another important thing is that a lot of Barcelona are demanding that Xabi should be replaced with Valverde as a head coach, I don't think that would bring a good momentum for them because Xabi is not good in Qatar with Al Saad Club, So they should rely on Valverde instead of Xabi.

Allegri is free too  Grin, Why none wants him  Grin.

Well refusing Barca even if not the start of the season is not a good choice IMHO, can be the best opportunity of life as a coach.

Yeah, this one I never understood. I felt so sure he only said no because someone else in EPL already booked him but then they came and went, how many teams have already sacked coaches and got others. Allegri can't spend more than this season without a job otherwise no big club will want him haha.

Then again, Barca needs someone a bit more progressive, and I don't mean Allegri isn't;) Just not a man for this decade.

I was wondering recently who could be a better choice for Barcelona's coach than Valverde. Do you know what's the answer?

I feel like putting up interim head coach for the season is not really viable for now, I mean if it was the last 3-4 weeks that could have happened but there is still the whole second leg going on, people do not like to be really in charge of Barcelona right now because they are doing well for now and they can still get fired, that is how tough of a job we are talking about.

Definitely, if Xavi comes right now and wins the league he would be still allowed for next year and that would be a superb increase in his managerial life (from Gatar team to Barcelona all because he was their player ) however getting fired from Barcelona is also a very bad move as well so I doubt they will want something like that. Pochettino looks like the best case until the end of the season honestly.

Interesting fact that Valverde is first sacked Barca manager since Van Gaal who was sacked in 2003. It's common thing nowadays.
I'm guessing that's why the Barcelona board have stuck with valverde this long, despite the fans calling for his dismissal for a long time now, the team was moving backwards under valverde, Barcelona don't play their usual style with him in charge, they do not quite like to sack coaches, and at least not even mid season, but right now, nothing but this will do.

Whoever the new manager is, he'll be under a little pressure, he has to try and bring back what the fans have been missing for a while now, he has to get it right, Barcelona cannot start the business of hiring and firing coaches.

As long as barcelona under valverde does not contribute well to barcelona and does not play the old style that barcelona has played for many years, if this fan pours valverde quickly then I pitu it is better because with the new coach barcelona will find his true self left behind then and now begins to move with a new game with messi and his friends.

Seems that announcement about Valverde will be published today or tomorrow. And it's already known who will replace him. It's Quiqe Setien, former manager of Betis. He will manage team until the end of season.
Interesting choice. Setien perfectly fits for original Barca style, but he don't have experience in top clubs.

I am sure that those who will be chosen as the barcelona coach will return the game to the way they used to be, the fast-paced style has to come back because that is Barcelona's main advantage.
In fact, Barcelona are all talented players, but coaches who determine the correct direction of statistics in order to get back to winning again.
