Rakitic should have left a long time ago if you ask me... Barca doesnt need him (too slow) and his stay doesnt help him personally either...

It is true that Barcelona doesn't want him. But if he doesn't take any matches on his feet then he cannot be sold neither to a bigger club nor with a good price.
Barcelona treats his instance so bad leading to a lose-lose situation both for the club and Rakitic.

^  For Atletico to win La Liga it would need to over perform and need Real and Barca to under perform for a good part of the season...  Kinda like what happened to Leicester at the EPL?  Cheesy  Extreme situation with Leicester tho but you know what I mean.

lol I remember that season. Consistency plus luck was the key for Leicester.

Atletico, while they are still strong contenders, will also need a little bit of luck to be crowned champions again.

28 Votes in the poll. Barcelona and Real Madrid are separated by just 1 vote (mine currently since I voted for Barca). I know La Liga is still a two way race but it's surprising to me that nobody has even voted for Atletico Madrid. They are always there competing with the usual top 2.

Atletico, at least for now, seems like the most stable team of the Spanish top three so, you know, maybe the irony will hit us all with Rojiblancos once again breaking the duopoly. That's what all the impartial fans want.

I totally agree with you.
There is so much discussion about Neymar and his transfer and the worst part is that every week the media indicates different players for an exchange transfer. Rakitic is one player and that's totally bad for his mentality.
I do not know how this players cope knowing their team is trying to ship them out to get a player in exchange, it really must be hard to swallow, but on a second thought, it all could be rumors and the players may be well aware of it.
Rakitic has been good for Barcelona since his arrival, not the sort of Xavi or Iniesta kind of player, but be has contributed his own quota to Barcelona's success since his arrival.
Barcelona seem to have big problems at the start of the league.
I do not think there is any cause for alarm as of yet, Barcelona would definitely get back right on track and compete for the title, but they must be careful not to drift too far away from those at the summit, else it might be difficult to close up the points between them.

Barcelona seem to have big problems at the start of the league.
Messi is very important to them but it seems that his absence is not the only reason for the poor results.
They spent a lot of energy and time on Neymar, angering many of their players, like Rakitic for example, and now they have a lot of disgruntled players and a bad team atmosphere.

I totally agree with you.

Yes, it's true that Barcelona started the league less well. Unlike Barcelona in general, they must rise again. Neymar transfers do not take place, so all Barcelona related parties can focus back on la Liga, they must rise and start with positive results.

The team has to guard against complacency. After eight laliga titles in eleven years, it's very easy to lose focus and take victories for granted.
Atletico Madrid are also strong contenders after their perfect start to the new season.

The season still has a long way to go and there would still be lots of changes at the top of the table

Barcelona struggles are normal and since the season has just started I would not panic, I’ll simply trust them to bring their differences out in the open and then as a team solve it. Messi’s absense is definitely hurting them, but once he’s back he’ll be able to rally everyone around him we just need to patient till then. Atletico Madrid have started brilliantly, and if they continue playing like this then they can definitely challenge Barcelona and Real Madrid for the La Liga title.

Atl Madrid is still the top of the standings with 9 points. There is no doubt for them, they always consistently play well. Unlike Barcelona and Real Madrid which are not optimal, sometimes they lose, sometimes they draw.f

I won't say Atl Madrid plays consistent, except by that terms you mean consistently struggling to win. Sure, in the end, they did win, but they got one or two goals first before they did their comeback.

If they continue to be like that for the rest of the season, I think who will win the league is still unpredictable as most of the top teams are now playing somewhat mediocre football.

Atletico lacks consistency and that is a big limiting factor when you are fighting for the Championship. When you fight for the Championship you need to be merciless when it comes to score goals and also the defense must be totally focused and concentrated. These qualities are only for Real and Barca until now that is why I think one these two teams will win the La Liga.

Yes, this is true as long as the stars Barcelona and Real are not participating in the games and negative results enjoyed by the two clubs, Will make Athletic at the top of the ranking.

Although Atletic wins all three games and occupies first place, they will face many challenges in the coming games.

Atl Madrid sometimes concede first but their goal is to win. So that's what they are now.

Yes, it seems Atletico's only goal is to win games.

Well, that's what I meant. However, every team wants to win and get 3 points. If you often lose, you certainly do not get points and far hopes to become champions of the league. Atl Madrid sometimes concede first but their goal is to win. So that's what they are now.

2:2 and Real dropped two points as well!
but what is it with Real?

That's what I think too. Are they not optimal in this official competition or have they lost their identity? When it comes to players, they are certainly very complete and even more. They should be better in the future.

More like injuries of some key players Asensio, Rodriquez, Isco and Hazard.  Modric is getting old, with Kroos also getting there.  They also sold that young midfield guy to Arsenal.

I think Zidane was operating under the assumption that they were for sure acquiring Pogba.  Lol.

Edit:  Ceballos!

I'm supposed to be happy that Real dropped points, but I'm not. There is simply no reason to be happy for me when Barca struggling a lot. I have very pesimistic expectations about this season.
Barca fan?
It's very clear the Barcelona is heavily depended on Messi and this is not very healthy for a team especially if it's a big team. Barcelona really needs a mindset that they can win against any team even when Messi is not there for them.

Still it's too early to predict but big team with big players, they will come back in time.

I wonder what is going to happen when Messi announces that he is going to retire,
Probably Barcelona would be fighting for the 3rd place with Valencia... They need to find his substitute as soon as possible.

I have already said, Barcelona should have thought about this long before Messi announced it.

About Atletico, at the moment they're looking best, but... All their 3 wins were so difficult - minimal wins against Leganes and Getafe, 3:2 win against might Eibar were they  were trailing 0:2. Offcourse it's typical Atletico of Simeone, but I doubt that they can win league with such style of football.
The most important thing is the victory, and that's what they got as they sit comfortably on the top of the table going some points clear of Barcelona and Madrid.
It's always good to start well and top your rivals at least before they get themselves in the right rhythm.

I'm happy for Athletico thus far, and this season I dub them to be real contenders for the title, it'll be nice for Simeone to lift the title one more time, he's doing a great job at Athletico Madrid.
