I'm supposed to be happy that Real dropped points, but I'm not. There is simply no reason to be happy for me when Barca struggling a lot. I have very pesimistic expectations about this season.
About Atletico, at the moment they're looking best, but... All their 3 wins were so difficult - minimal wins against Leganes and Getafe, 3:2 win against might Eibar were they  were trailing 0:2. Offcourse it's typical Atletico of Simeone, but I doubt that they can win league with such style of football.
The most important thing is the victory, and that's what they got as they sit comfortably on the top of the table going some points clear of Barcelona and Madrid.
It's always good to start well and top your rivals at least before they get themselves in the right rhythm.

I'm happy for Athletico thus far, and this season I dub them to be real contenders for the title, it'll be nice for Simeone to lift the title one more time, he's doing a great job at Athletico Madrid.

Barca fan?
It's very clear the Barcelona is heavily depended on Messi and this is not very healthy for a team especially if it's a big team. Barcelona really needs a mindset that they can win against any team even when Messi is not there for them.

Still it's too early to predict but big team with big players, they will come back in time.

I wonder what is going to happen when Messi announces that he is going to retire,
Probably Barcelona would be fighting for the 3rd place with Valencia... They need to find his substitute as soon as possible.

Well, who knows if they keep winning like that lol. It doesn't matter if you can continue winning if you play not as good as Barca or Real. Points are what matters.

But yeah, their defense needs to be improved. It's tiring for the players if they have to continue trailing from behind in every match.

to be fair, Atletico doesn't have many fans outside of spain and probably some south american countries like Argentina and uruguay, so it's predictable that people don't root for them. Funnt thing is, they're the only ones who have had a prefect start (9pts out of 3 games) and have showed us the bst football out of the top teams.

Still early, though, but I believe they're the top contender to win the league this season. Real Madrid are a coin flip, and Barca are pretty bad with Valverde. I'll even go as far as to say that Atletico are among the top3 contenders to win the Champions League this season  Cool

I predicted Atletico will be winter champion before league started (there is post somewhere in this topic) and stated that it is only matter if will they be able to fend of Barca and/or Real in the second part of the season when I believe those teams will hit higher gears.

I also put money on all three of their wins and plan to continue doing the same in the near future. Granted, they cut the last game a bit too close to the finish line for my liking.

if we look at this poll then no one predicts that Atletico Madrid will be able to win the 2019/20 La Liga.. poor them  Cheesy

Just noticed the pool and it's surprising to see team like Barcelona is not ahead. Barcelona does not have the past glory then had anymore? I understand they are heavily depends on Messi but there are other good players as well who can win match for them.
Frenkie de Jong and Ousmane Dembele were deliberately prepared to reduce Barca's dependence on Messi,  so I don't think Messi is the reason why Barca was not chosen by many people.

Messi is getting old and while he is one of the greatest soccer player in history he cannot fight against life.Age is a limiting factor and no one can escape it,sure you can extend your lifespan of your carrier but that is it.

Messi has played all his career at Barca so I think he should close it there,he is still one of the key players of Barca but Barca should not rely only on Messi.

2:2 and Real dropped two points as well!
but what is it with Real?

That's what I think too. Are they not optimal in this official competition or have they lost their identity? When it comes to players, they are certainly very complete and even more. They should be better in the future.

So big mistakes from Real. They would have the opportunity to get advantage over Barcelona.
Especially now, that Messi is not playing in the game would be a great benefit for Real. But, they keep dropping points.

but what is it with Real?
I think it's the lack of togetherness in their team, Madrid no longer play with the unity we've come to know them with, since the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo, Madrid play like a team in sixes and sevens, they not only lost their key maskman, they also lost the winning mentality he brought.

I think Madrid team need to put all their big egos aside, and work together as one or else, performances would continue to be poor.

31st Aug 2019 Barcelona loses 2 points , 1st September 2019 Real Madrid says, Hold my beer  Grin
With this kind of lackluster performance Real Madrid will go trophyless again if they are not careful. This should be the time for them to capitalize on Barcelona's recent poor string of results

It's 85 minutes and Villareal is Leading by 2 goals to 1. The best i expect Real Madrid to pull of is a draw.

Even though the game ended in a draw, I don't think Real Madrid has what it takes to win the La Liga this season, I may be getting ahead of myself by saying this knowing full well how an injury crisis is plaguing the whole team as of this moment but their performance isn't good to write home about, I hope for their sake that Hazard return from injury soon and help with their bad performance.

Both Real and Barca is not doing well. We figured Barca's problem is they are heavily depended on Messi but what is it with Real?

It's time for another winner baby.
There are still 35 rounds left so this is too early to tell anything about the season winner but one thing seems clear here that this season is not going to be a boring one that one team will dominate over others.

I guess it's time for another club to win the league!

Atletico Madrid looks great. Hopefully, they can keep their performance and get lots of points while those two are struggling.

It's time for another winner baby.

Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic was again not involved in the Barcelona match. Signal Rakitic immediately leave from Barcelona?

Rakitic only sat on the bench when Barca were held by Osasuna 2-2 in the Spanish League match at El Sadar on Saturday (8/31/2019). Thus, Rakitic has only played for 45 minutes since the start of the 2019/2020 season.
The only chance of playing was given by Rakitic in the opening week when Barca were defeated Athletic Bilbao 0-1. Then in the second week, Rakitic occupied the bench. As a result, Rakitic's current situation is linked to the summer transfer market, which will soon close on September 2.

Good post mate - I am pretty sure that Rakitic will leave the club... and personally, I support this.

So Barcelona dropped points again... this time against Osasuna. Even with the acquisition of Griezmann, Barcelona didn't seem to have that fear factor they usually have when Messi is on pitch.
In fact, despite Barcelona having three-quarters of possession. Osasuna did try to pull of some shots towards Barca's goal too.

With the exception of ball possession, it seems that Osasuna dominated every aspect of the game and i should saw that they were very unlucky to have ended the game with a point, Barcelona would be hoping that Messi returns from the sidelines very soon and not get injured for a while.
