Girona is the only one mediocre team in La Liga success has consistency performance until success qualifying to UEFA Champion League next season and has large opportunity for securing 2nd place finish season 2023/24. The victory against Barcelona last match helped Girona reach the first appearance for playing in Champion League next season and currently lead the 2nd place behind one point remaining from Barcelona.
After ensuring victory over Barcelona 4-2, I really think Girona can end this season as runners up in La Liga for the first time in history. Of course there are still 3 more matches after today's match against Alaves, but in my opinion these 3 matches are no longer tough for Girona.

Villarreal, Valencia and Granada might make Girona lose points for the rest of the season, but Girona's good performance really helps them to appear consistent in every match. Girona is classified as a successful team this season, they have a record to be proud of even though they did not win the title. Qualifying for the Champions League is the dream of many teams, while Girona can almost guarantee it.

If Girona wants to play well in the Champions League, they need to buy some new players in the team to make them perform well next season and compete with other clubs in the Champions League. I am just waiting for next season and see some new clubs performing in the competition. At the start of the season, when Girona is performing well, many people think that they will definitely win the league title, but Real Madrid stops them because they are the favourites in the league and k I think Real Madrid will sign several new players next season to make them better then before.

Yeah I agree with you because that is the only way for Girona to last longer on the champions League because if they fail to get more good players they will likely end up not going far, however one thing they need to consider is that unlike the leagues they have played champions League is far higher than every other leagues because it comprises of all the strongest teams from each of the various local league, so for them to go far they seriously need to step up their game more by getting more better players.

However they are currently playing with Deportivo Alaves and so far they have shown an encouraging efforts on the match by scoring at the fourth minutes of the match before Deportivo Alaves equalized on the twelve minutes but Girona has managed to score another goal before the end of the first half making it 2:1 against Deportivo Alaves and from the way the match is going their is a big chance for Girona to win the match.
Girona's ongoing match against Alaves The first half was so funny. Girona scored their first goal in 4 minutes, and I was expecting many goals from them in that first half, but it couldn't happen, and the Alaves equalized back in 12 minutes. But with the powerful performance of Girona, they try to put in much more intensity and add another goal before the end of the first half.

Honestly there's big chance for Girona to win this match, but they have to be very careful. Because the way they take Alaves guaranteed, they have to be stronger when they come back from the second half, so that will add much pressure on Alaves. If not for the pattern of the game that they really want to play with the Girona, they might equalize back again.

Ancelotti's troops in their next match in Laliga will face Granada. It seems that we will not be difficult to predict the result of this match because considering that Granada is a team that is currently in the relegation zone and I am sure Real Madrid will win against Granada. and I am sure that when the match takes place, Real Madrid will enjoy this match and the remaining matches at the end of this season because of course Real Madrid is safe and will be champions in Laliga this season.

but I admire Real Madrid because they don't want to celebrate their victory at Granada's headquarters because Granada is of course a relegated team and Real Madrid certainly doesn't want to celebrate moments of happiness over other in people's suffering. Honestly, I am amazed by Real Madrid and in conclusion, Real Madrid will celebrate its success and get a trophy when Real Madrid hosts Alaves. what do you all think about this?

Sport is inherently cruel, it is not a cooperative game where there can be several winners and when everyone can win. There are always winners and losers here, and I don't think any extraneous considerations will influence the outcome of this game. Real Madrid have already officially become the champions of La Liga, but I don’t think that this will stop them from winning against Granada, on the contrary, now they are in a great mood and I’m expecting a big victory for Real in this game.

Girona is having a good season and their football is getting better with every match. Of course, they have some shortcomings, but these are the shortcomings that big teams also have. We all know and appreciate the excitement Girona has brought to the league this season. I am also curious about their performance in the next matches.

In general, I can say that I feel more comfortable making predictions about what teams can do after the matches start. My predictions about the teams before the match started are not very accurate, but after watching the first 10 minutes of the match, I can make better predictions. In Girona matches, they usually show how eager they are in the first 10 minutes.

Currently, HT Alaves 1 vs 2 Girona
First half against Alaves, Girona lead over 1-2 and make their position has four points remaining from Barcelona will face Real Sociedad in this week, I think Girona will defend the winning game against Alaves to make the 2nd place position keep secure and get bigger opportunity finish under Real Madrid position.

I laughed a little at this discussion, because what you said is a reality that may be difficult for Barcelona fans to accept. Real Madrid was left by Cristiano Ronaldo and currently they're still the greatest team in the domestic league and European competitions, in contrast to Barcelona which after Messi left the team, the team became like a mediocre team that had difficulty competing in Europe.
Actually, this is very normal because they are rivals in La Liga. Barcelona fans will definitely not accept the fact that Real Madrid can still show that they are the best team currently available, and if that happens to Barcelona then Real Madrid fans will do the same thing.
Indeed, after being abandoned by the players who brought them to the golden age (one of which was Messi), until now Barcelona is still having difficulty getting back on their feet. However, this is not only because the players have left, but there are other reasons, such as Barcelona's finances which are still unstable at the moment.
Financial condition is an important factor for a team, because if their finances are good then it will make it easier for them to move freely to make the team even stronger.

It's true, Barcelona has slumped in recent seasons not only because several key players, namely Lionel Messi, Neymar & Luis Suarez, have been left behind, but also because the club's fundamental condition isn't good. Currently Barcelona is in 3rd place in the La Liga standings, below Girona who's in 2nd place with a distance of 1 point. Both teams have played the same number of games, do you think Barcelona can be in 2nd place at the end of the season?

I don't know. If think if you lose a whole generation that has dominated world football within 5-6 years, it's hard to see how a club would instantly fully recover from that. Real Madrid has done a better job, it is as simple as that. They have risked more with their transfers and got players like Bellingham and Vinicius Junior on board. Barcelona has some great talents, but when you compare both teams to me it seems that Real Madrid is more grown up despite having so many young players. Barcelona gets Lewandowski and Real Madrid gets a number 5 called Bellingham and the guy scores more goals in a season than Lewandowski does. Overall Lewandowksi has a few more scorer points, but still in my opinion Real Madrid is making the superior decisions.

Now the next transfer is being discussed, Mbappe. This type of player would never choose to go to Barcelona at the moment. But he would have 10 years ago when Barcelona was world class.
Real Madrid and Barcelona have dominated Spanish football for at more than the last two decade and that's because of how they've managed to assemble the best legs in the Spanish league over the years but recently, Barcelona have not been able to match the number of quality players at Real Madrid because they've been having some financial crises that's majorly limited their spendings in the transfer market and they've also struggled to raise big players from the club's academy which we know is their major source of getting quality players over the years.
Assessing the current difference between the two teams, it's absolutely obvious that the Spanish La Liga champions are clearly better than Barcelona and for Barcelona to be able to assemble a group of players that'll be strong enough to challenge Real Madrid in the nearest future, I think it'll take the club many more than three more transfer windows. Real Madrid is undisputedly the best Spanish team at the moment and I don't think there's anyone that's gonna stop in the next two seasons from being the best
You're right, Barcelona are lagging a lot this season due to the player crisis. Barcelona would have dominated La Liga if they had been able to acquire skilled players from the start of this season. But unfortunately this was not possible at the start of the season due to Barcelona's financial crisis. However, the current situation in Barcelona is much better. If Barcelona can continue with their consistency then good things can be expected for Barcelona.
Yes you are right for Barcelona lagging behind this season in all competitions, but they should not be bothered about any financial  crisis because they already have people like lewandowski, Lamine Yamal, Gudogan, João Cancelo, Christensen and the rest playing in thier starting eleven. Already we are seeing good performance from the team and players, not exactly the best of them but we do expect a better results next season far much better than this season because I believe they must have mixed too well to understand themselves better in the field.

Girona came prepared this season, they mean it to play in the Champions League and they are almost about to achieve their aim even though they will want to win the Laliga title; they lost to Madrid because they don’t have squad depth that’s why injuries and fatigue affected them before they started to recover.

Barcelona of this season is an average team, they are losing some important matches they are not supposed to lose and they are at the same time not consistent which is why Girona is trying finish ahead of them in the Lalig this season.
This season has been a successful season for Girona by finishing in Champions League zone. They may fail to stay in title race a little longer, but handing a ticket to play Champions league is an achievement for a club of Girona's calibre. Even though they have been so good this season, they will have to have massive improvements next season considering they will play in Champions League which is a top competition that they have never played in before after a long time.

The first step is that they need to keep their important players to stay, because after their performances this season, big clubs will make some approaches to sign their players. This is common to happen to a team that has a very good season. And then they will need to make some signings to strengthen their squad depth, because playing in Champions League is a tough task which will need to keep the players stay fit by rotational policy.

Although maintaining the same performance in many different seasons is not impossible for all teams, but Girona will probably never be the same as this season nor do they make significant improvements. They must be willing to spend a lot of budget to increase the depth of the squad, of course important players also need to be retained, including making loan players permanent.

Sávio, Pablo Torre, Yan Couto and Eric García are some of the loan players who have made a big contribution to Girona's game this season. Three of them seem highly expected to stay with Girona next season, but Torre doesn't seem too good. Sávio, Yan Couto and Eric García are Girona's three mainstays this season, so of course they must look to make them permanent to smooth out their game plan and ultimate targets next season.

Becoming Girona will definitely be quite a dilemma because they actually need fresh funds while their players are at the peak of their performance and also while the transfer fee is still very expensive. That could make Girona stronger financially in the future and if they doubt they can't achieve the same as this season then they must be able to keep their key players.

I think there are times when a team like Girona can't refuse a big offer so they inevitably have to release their key players to other clubs. But if Girona's scouting team can find a good striker like Dovbyk then this problem can be resolved well. Besides, I believe they can manage all this well without having to lose anything that should be theirs.

What happened to Girona is the same as what happened to Leicester City several years ago. One of the challenges for a mediocre team that can surprisingly exceed expectations is that many clubs are trying to get their key players. Girona will try to keep key players but the temptation of big clubs with high salaries and the opportunity to have a good career is something that cannot be resisted. Of course Girona will get big profits in the transfer window but they must be able to find a replacement player like Dovbyk. Apart from that, they can use the money to strengthen the team by looking for potential midfielders and defenders.

I don't doubt Girona and I also believe that one day there will be a new team that can successfully compete with the top teams, but logically, Girona mentality is still a little unstable, while Barcelona is the team that can always get the best ranking in La Liga and also the point difference is still very thin.
with a difference of 1 point and still 4 matches remaining, I'm not sure Girona can maintain their position while Barcelona can still shift Girona position back.
we'll see if what I say will come true, but I'm sure whatever happens, a team that has experience will have a greater chance of remaining in the runner up position.
La Liga is definitely a competitive league and for the fact that against all odds, Girona being an uprising team, have proven to stay in the top spot, it only means that there's definitely good fighting and resilient spirits in the teams there. The last weeks of the season games seems to be a walk over for Girona as they've in the first legs played to their best and have mastered rightly their strategies and the opposing team approaches, and so they've got better experience to countering the moves that'll be made.

Of all seasons, asides the top teams like Atletico, Barcelona and Real Madrid, there's little or no heated contests to stay on top amongst average teams. Although their performances this season have been impressive but just as Villarreal who managed to get reasonable in the European contests and even Sevilla as well, this season, Sevilla is nowhere to be found in their usual league standings.

The league is coming to an end and it’s already crowned it's champions to be Real Madrid especially after such remarkable season. Well Girona and Barcelona are the closest contenders but they weren't able to gather enough points to be able to challenge Real Madrid. The La Liga is pretty competitive but I think it revolves majorly around Real Madrid and Barcelona as other clubs tend not to be able to perform better than these 2 clubs. Well this all balls down to investment in football and if that’s done we’ll be able to see major competitions in the league.

The remaining four matches in Laliga will probably be less interesting for some of the teams in Laliga because whatever the result will not affect what the team will achieve, Real Madrid has already confirmed the title, and Almeria and Granada will be relegated, so Granada vs Real Madrid match will not get much attention and this seems like an opportunity for Real Madrid's young players to play because Ancelotti has the opportunity to rest several key players to stay fit and free from injury in the Champions League final, but even so, Granada will still find it difficult to get points, and by only getting one point there is only one team left that will be relegated, because it is no longer possible for Granada to shift Mallorca's position in 17th position.

Of course, Real Madrid also has the Champions League to think about and Real Madrid has already been able to win the La Liga. I think Real Madrid is going to lose this match. Granada is in the relegation zone right now. And I don’t think there is any way for them to actually avoid the relegation. And I do not expect a team like that to actually beat Real Madrid, regardless of the situation. And even though Real Madrid is not interested in La Liga matches at all, I think they are still not going to lose the matches that are left. At least not all of them. Because the Champions League match is quite some time away. The Champions League match is going to be played on second June. Sorry, Real Madrid definitely has more than enough time.
It is very likely that Madrid will continue to try to get maximum points at home to Granada, or at least they will target a draw, and Madrid will definitely refuse to lose to a mediocre team like Granada. Ancelotti certainly doesn't want to increase their number of defeats this season, it would be a disgrace if they lost to Gradana, I think by fielding second tier players Madrid will still be able to appear dominant.

It's true, teams in the degradation zone will usually play more aggressively, they can act unexpectedly, and they can create surprises. But on paper, Granada chances of beating Madrid are quite low, it takes a lot of luck for Gradana to secure full points. Ancelotti will certainly rest a number of his mainstay players, and will give more time to the second tier players.

The remaining matches in the future are no longer important, because they no longer affect anything in the hunt for trophies, but to maintain the players mentality and self confidence, winning will remain a priority. Apart from that, for Granada, they need a miracle to survive in La Liga next season, apart from Madrid they also have to face Girona in the last match, and that has the potential to sink them in the red zone.

Maybe Girona can finish second in the table this season. Because Barcelona's performance is very irregular now. And a few days ago, Barcelona lost 4-2 against Girona. Barcelona's overall performance is very poor right now. Therefore, Girona has a higher chance of occupying the second place in the table than Barcelona.
It is very possible that Girona can finish in the 2nd place. There are 4 remaining matches, no big matches anymore. Girona will play against Alaves, Villareal, Valencia, and Granada. In theory, those are just average teams, Girona won't have a problem to defeat them. If Girona can maintain their good performance like they were playing against Barcelona, I no doubt that Girona will finish as the runner-up this season. They are in the 2nd place now, they just need to keep winning until the end of the season.

But I doubt if Girona can continue such performance next season. Girona have performed well in almost every match in the opening matches of this season. Both offense and defense were strong. But gradually we saw the deterioration of the performance of the team. Girona's management will definitely need to make some important changes within the squad if they want to do well next season.
For the next season, we don't need to discuss it now. However, I believe Girona can keep the good performance if their key players still stay in Girona. But if many of their key players move to other teams, Girona must be difficult to perform well like this season. Anyway, I also think Girona coach probably improves their squad with some new players. They seem need another good striker, Cristhian Stuani has been too old and often get injured. Girona also need new defenders to strengthen their defense line. For the midfielders, I think they don't need new players in this position.

We know that Real Madrid's next matches in La Liga are only regular matches as they have already secured the La Liga title. The La Liga title is pretty much assured for them as well as they defeated Bayan Munich in the last match to qualify for the Champions League final and now they have no more pressure. Real Madrid may be relieved now that they have overcome two of their biggest hurdles in the Champions League competition, and Real Madrid have the ability to win against PSG or Dortmund in the final. Last season we said Manchester City is the most successful team this season we will say Real Madrid is the most successful team.

In the end, everyone will admit Girona's impressive performance this season by ranking second in the La Liga table. Because how Girona beat Barcelona at home has become quite clear evidence that Girona this season has been better than last season and can even outperform Barcelona, which is also a team that is always taken into account in La Liga every season. However, this season everything almost changed when Girona was able to appear so impressive and has often been in a good ranking from the start until now.

Girona are really going to the Champions League. This reminds me of Malaga's similar journey in the past.  Smiley  They did a pretty good job in that year as well. I'm curious about whether we would see Girona also doing a good work. They really have talented players in the squad and they have a good manager as well. However I don't feel like this squad will stay the same.

I mean some great performers in the team would absolutely get offers this summer. Girona should build a decent squad for the Champions League if they don't want a bad journey. The format is also changing so maybe they can turn it into advantage somehow.  Smiley

Hell Yes! This has also got to be their best season in La Liga Competition ever since they was promoted to the La Liga Competition. When every other top dogs should have competed with Real Madrid they fumbled, only Girona made the La Liga Competition during the first half of the season interesting to watch as well a competitive one for Real Madrid.

Seeing them qualifying for the Champions League Competition should be a boost for these underdogs that anything can be achieved if they work hard to get it. When I look at Girona, they always remind me of Leicester City in the Premier League Competition. It's just so hurting to see they didn't get to win nothing after a successful season.

Oh Malaga! But ever since they got relegated, they have struggled to find themselves back to the top. La Liga² has been such a difficult one for them. Likewise me, I barely get wins when I bet from that division. Lol.

as @abhiseshakana said, in other words, Barcelona seemed to have no enthusiasm anymore after finishing the UCL match with a defeat because it seemed like they had no hope in La Liga and UCL.
so it is very likely that Barcelona thought that they would appear as is rather than having to chase runners up which is a bit difficult when they have to compete with Girona who have more perfect players.
I still believe in what I said if Barcelona is still able to maintain the runner up position, sometimes I also worry if Barcelona will really give up the runner up position to give it to Girona.

regarding Girona future in the next season, actually it all depends on how Girona management manages its players and if Girona keeps reliable players and only sells unproductive players, it is possible that Girona performance will remain fine, but if Girona thinks about money and choosing to sell several quality players, it looks like Girona will lose their performance like this season.

Barcelona is on the third position right now and things are looking to get more and more harder for Barcelona as the days goes on.  The problem that was created by the ex-Barachan president Bartameu is still proving to be really hard for Barcelona to actually overcome. he was spending money by saying one thing that at that time Barcelona was earning more money than any other club in the world.

So he was spending money that the Barcelona club didn’t even have the hope that they would make that money back. But we all know what happened after that. Barcelona is still recovering from the situation that was created. And the recovery is going to take time. Thankfully Xavi is going to stay in Barcelona. And that is good for Barcelona because I do not think any other coach which Barcelona could have gotten would have been able to bring in better results or was actually going to be patient. Barcelona will still look to finish in the second position in this season. But now it is looking a lot harder. And Barcelona is definitely not going to achieve that if they keep making mistakes like they have been making in the defense recently.

I do believe that Girona is doing quite well and they may have something different for the remainder of the season cooking as well. I am not saying that it is going to be simple or anything like that, but it does look like we are going to end up with something not so difficult to master neither.

I believe that the best thing we could do right now would be just making sure that we are dealing with something that could benefit everyone, if we could just bet on Girona to win all of their games. Sure there could be some game/s that they may fail to win, but I think that may not happen and they may end up winning all the games they will play. This is of course just a guess for me and I think it's quite obvious that we are going to end up with a good result eventually.

At least, for today match against Alaves it is still possible for Girona to win because ofcourse, I think this will be a very goodmoment for Girona to win. Because anyway, the next two matchesGirona will play against Villarreal and Valencia, although Villarreal and Valencia position in the La Liga standing are not as good as Girona but still, that Villarreal and Valencia are not weak teams at all. Therefore, the matches against Alaves and also Granada at the end of this season are a great opportunity for Girona to keep gaining three points ofcourse, to keep competing withBarcelona to compete to finish as runnerup.

Girona will undoubtedly qualify for the Champions League next season, and I am confident they will perform admirably, but they will not win the Champions League because even Leverkusen, who are in good form this season, will undoubtedly lose in the Champions League because they have better clubs in the competition that are stronger than them. Let us see how the Champions League plays out next season. Since Madrid has won the league, they will not want to risk any of his players this weekend because they have a difficult match in the Champions League, so he will rest his players in the league game and focus on the final against Dortmund.

I think Girona players now do not think about the Champions League, because there is still a season in La Liga and Girona need to win all their matches to get ahead of Barcelona in the table and I think this is the main goal now, because no one knows who Girona will sell or buy. Maybe Girona can keep their leaders and buy good players and then the chances for next season will increase, but a lot will depend on the results of the next transfer window.

Now Alaves will host Girona and both clubs have 3 wins in a row and today for some team this winning streak will be broken.

We'll have to see how Girona goes through the transfer market this summer, it looks like Atletico are serious about getting Dovbyk and I think this could be decisive for Girona as to how much they can hold on to their squad. If they can keep all the key players and strengthen the team, they can count on repeating the results they achieved this season, if they sell off players in the desire to make a good profit, then the result will be appropriate.
Okay, Girona's time for signing new players will be interesting. Having Dovbyk is a big deal on the one hand. That guy had a big season! If Atletico makes a good offer, though, a sale isnt the worst thing that could happen. Its tempting to cash out, but I like steady growth a lot. Put those funds back into young, hungry players to build for the future. You know thats real success, right? In the end, let us see what they do. Girona has the ability to make a lot of noise if they do this right
