Has anyone received their order of L3+ Miners yet?  Anyone from the April Batch? or even a shipping confirmation from the May batch?

I think the tactic will be to take this 1BTC on which you can buy L3+ and buy right now several THs on Hashnest (so it will mine you some BTCs). And sell it sometime around June and buy L3+

At least I'm doing like this

I have been very tempted to purchase on of these but hate preorder.  I got caught up in a preorder several years ago and got my money back.  Was one of the lucky ones.  So many diff changes between now and July 30th.  I was fairly serious when they had a May batch but now that it is basically an August batch (you can say July 20-30th but who are we kidding this will be August.

Clueless!
Damn I order to Bitmain 2x L3+ at 1644$ each the 2017-04-24. And now its at 1299$ wtf Huh  Shocked

yeah....as in my above post....damn hard to compete with the only real mnfg of scrypt pow equip, ie: bitmain

for every 4 they make ..they probably are keeping 3 for their own use in the data halls

and again .....IF the price was the go up 4x....and such looked good for us to buy...they COULD just keep them

again for 4-6 weeks and mine the puppies with a 'ahem' firmware error excuse

I see NO angle where I can buy on these guys

catch 22

If I think LTC is gonna double or triple on seg witness and lighting implementation....and buy some product..if price does

double or triple..it is POSSIBLE that bitmain will simply HOLD the product and mine it for 4-6 weeks and then ship it .with me

holding the bag on my $$$ loan to them to do so. These are PRE-ORDER machines....they may have been good in the past

in shipping product...BUT....watch the price of LTC go up 3x or 4x and damn, I bet that ends quick (bitmain: rinse/wash/repeat) Sad

So it was hard enough 'guessing' on ROI on an equip purchase without 'freaking out' over the fact IF IT IS TOO DAMN GOOD

like on the 4x increase of LTC from $4.15 to $15 bucks...THEY CAN JUST MINE YOUR FRIGGING PAID FOR MACHINES AT THEIR LEISURE.

I see NO angle on how to trust them enough to get a miner

catch 22

to get a miner I have to be pretty damn sure of ROI

but

if ROI is assured .the folks making the miner can take it and mine it themselves first

stuck Smiley

Anyone want to beat me up  on this logic, feel free....but again see no angle on this without bitmain getting some competiors ..IF I

want to continue to get miners at a profit for LTC and/or scrypt pow coins.

Feel free anyone to show this 'mouse' a way out of this to at least a 'bit' of cheese Smiley

I'm stumped

Anyone placing an order for the $1300 july 20-30 shipment?

Even if I wanted to place more orders for July 20-30 for bitmain products..what is to stop them from the same scam as before...
I pre-order the product.....price of LTC goes to 25 to 30 bucks...they suddenly have 'firmware issues' mine it for a month driving
difficulty up by say 60% then send it.

seems to be what is the new norm from the last time

hard enough getting asic equip and trying to figure out if you can ROI or not...now if it looks really good (4.15-15 ltc) you don't
dare get the equip thru a pre-order because ....bitamin (or others) will develop (gasp) firmware issues and it becomes 2 months
late at the same price before you get it

the rules on the playground were hard enough before this change...now I just 2nd guess myself

but er..NO not getting any birmain products....if it makes sense to do so because after seg witness and lighting get turned on in
a couple weeks...it makes even more sense for them to pull the equip on the above song and dance and keep it

True, doesn't change the end result though... let's call it a typo Smiley
Yeah, just wanted to clear it since I see it misunderstood from time to time.

Scrypt blows SHA256 out of the water... the top 29 coins are all scrypt! BTC comes in at rank 30. Yes I know that this will likely change as the global hashrate and difficulty increases, but on paper it looks like mining scrypt may be fare more profitable.

Have I made an incorrect calculation?

Not that it's incorrect but you may be underestimating the bold part. Bitcoin difficulty could be reaching a plateau where it doesn't grow faster than single-digit percentages, whereas Litecoin (not to mention other mostly tiny Scrypt coins) can double or triple in a matter of weeks, depending on how many L3+ Bitmain can produce - and it looks like they can produce a lot, given the recent price drop. Higher reward does not come without higher risk, especially if you take into account other factors such as exchange rates and equipment resale values.

One small mistake, which happens from time to time. It is hash per second, not hertz. Two quite different things.

For example: Antminer S9, hash rate 13 Th/s
Antminer L3+, hash rate 504 Mh/s

I did a quick quote on coinwarz:

SHA-256 Bitmain S9
13000 ghz (13Thz)
1350 watts
15c per kw

vs

SCRYPT Bitmain L3+
504000 kHz (504Mhz)
800 watts
15c per kw

The results are pretty interesting... based on the prices we're paying here in Australia for power (it's actually .20c per hour taking into account that the calculator is in US dollars)

Bitcoin FTW!
Keep in mind those can be very inaccurate.  I would try prohashing or another pool that will estimate actual earnings on their pool.
That also changes from time to time so it doesn't really help much; there's no good way to accurately estimate long term profits, all calculators should be regarded as tools for estimation and by no means are they exact. It's just one of the complexities and risks of mining.

1) Does the L3+ mine coins other than LiteCoin? A generic scrypt miner?

Yes, any Scrypt based coin

2) If I have a 10mhz miner atm mining at the moment, returning about 0.0005btc per day, an L3+ at over 500Mhz should theoretically do 50 times that? 0.025btc per day? (assuming the status quo)

Mhz does not equal profit or speed of the hashrate.

Hashrate = return based upon difficulty.

Google LTC Hashrate calculator, plug in your hash rate to see what return you might see but expect that number to fall as global hashrate increases, difficulty increases.

Antminer L3+, 504MH/s
The most powerful Litecoin miner. Shipping: 20-30 July
1299 USD
https://shop.bitmain.com/productDetail.htm?pid=000201704270330299161GIIoSKl067B
Congratulations to all former July buyers for about 1800 USD...
...and Litecoin Rate goes to south also.

Last batch was $1800 USD and its now 1300 USD? I'd want a refund if I was them . . .

For people that bought and did wire transfer what is their CNAPS?

Maybe no one ordered at $1800, so they closed it and reopened a week later for $1300 -- it never said "out of stock" like it usually does, the $1800 ad just disappeared

FYI, Bitmain has responded with firmware updates fixing what they describe as a bug.
