Does anyone know the thermal load on antminer L3+? I need to work out the total thermal load for 8 L3+s. Really appreciated if someone could help. Thanks

Are you asking about exhaust CFM?

Yes, I think so! I'm just a little confused. I'm looking to buy a server cabinet to house these with a ducting kit/ exhaust system and each cabinet has different capacities for max thermal load. So I'm struggling to work out which one to get based on this. I know this is the expensive option, but I need it to look the part for when the landlord comes around to inspect! I'm nearly a complete dummy on this subject as I haven't used these before so any advice would be really helpful
The CFM or Cubic Feet Per Minute is the amount of air displacement or "airflow" each Miner moves through the body. The D3 is 250 CFM give or take 20-30 CFM. The "thermal load" I believe refers to the aggregate level of Heat that your total number of miners creates. I am not sure how you would measure that. You can take each unit's temperature with an infrared thermometer at the body but I don't know how you calculate the total thermal output with combined units.
Yes this is what I'm struggling to get my head around Huh

Guys can you make sense of this:

Why do I have such a huge negative number in the DiffA#?
I don't think its anything to worry about. DiffA#relates to the difficulty of the last accepted share.

Clueless!
Don't use UPS when you order from bitmain, my 6 L3+ have disappeared/been stolen by UPS in Oslo, Norway . I got my PSU.

You have options or are you sh*t out of luck?

Me neither, but I used DHL, and all went fine.
DHL are good especially with orders from china. What is happening regarding your missing L3+s? Are you getting a refund? I bought another brand new L3+ from ebay last week cheap. The sender used hermes, they are the worst, delivered to my next door neighbor who had just moved in. Luckily, he didn't scam me.

Well...I guess we will see in 7-10 days as I received email stating order was going to be shipped out on 10/31 and I would get tracking number on that day.  I ordered from the miningwarehouses site and they have at least been responsive to my email questions so far.  Normally within 6 hours or so-not bad with time difference and all.

I am hoping this works out because it would be nice to have a few racks of these running in my storage area in the attic.  Need to do some work on the venting but I am a contractor so it would be fun to put together.

Do you guys know if they would run cooler at 220v rather than 110v?  I know the amp draw is a little less (I think 4-5 amps at 220 and 6 or so at 110) but I'd have to run a 220 sub panel rather than 110 sub panel.  I like to over do things so I would just plan for it to be 150 amps total so I would have room to grow as...well, as my wife will let me, lol
L3+ = 3.63 amps on 220v. vs 7.27 110v.

Guys, I wouldnt order it ANYWHERE but official sources, 95% of miner selling websites are SCAM.
I even saw a comprehensive list of scam websites out there here on the forum, there are HUNDREDS of them. Scary. :/

They would have to steal these to make a profit.
Why would you sell at such a price ? Even on craigslist or whatever you get better price and can stay on the couch.

Searching around I found this website AFTER I ordered my 2 L3+s for 10/27 shipping.  Anyone have any feedback on them?  They say power supply is included in price?

https://cryptominershop.net/index.php?route=product/product&path=59&product_id=51 for $1699 and supposedly in stock.  I am looking to pick up a few more after test driving the ones I get in a few weeks.  Any feedback is appreciated.

or miningwarehouses web site?

Too good to be true, I know there are a lot of secondhand on chinese auction sites but, this smells like a scam. I can be totally wrong though.

Actually GMO claims that their 7nm SHA256 boards will produce 8TH@300W. Of course it's not going to happen tommorrow, more like 1.5 year from now.
I would have to see that to believe it. The S9 went to 13.5Th/s at 1300 w from the S7 doing 4.37 Th/s at 1300 watts at the wall. The progression curve is likely flattening at this juncture instead of steepening I would guess. Less Hashing gains with less power consumption efficiency. I could be wrong but if I am not that would truly be MIRACULOUS!!!
.....also...GMO has never even done this before right? Waaaay easier said than done!! Ask Innosilicon.....or Baikal.....or Panda.... or....well, you get the picture.

Its a 7nm chip so purely on gains from 16nm->7nm its easily believable. What the issue is with what they are doing is they are going the KNC route...large dies with crazy hash power per chip etc (remember neptune/titan?). This is definitely bound to be a disaster especially for a new company getting into mining. They haven't learned the lesson yet that large dies just don't work for mining.

Cant really blame them though trying to cash in. When Japan hit the scene next year this lot will be obsolete.

You cannot calculate the real % of efficiency by comparing the nm-shrink-percentage.
It is possible that the difference is not as dramatic as people speculate.
Absolutely! Not sure why the hysteria. I don't need a calculator to believe that 16nm to 7nm is significantly less impactful than 28nm to 16nm. Frankly this appears to be a rather unprecedented sweet spot in ASIC hardware history. I can foresee a scenario where you will be able to successfully run your 16nm units 2 years from now alongside the 7nm upgrades. Or.....swap out your 16nm units at a surprisingly healthy resale value compared to what you paid. Provided you did not succumb to the siren song of the reseller at 3-5 x manufacturer's release price.

That' a fair point. I don't know why people expect bitmain not to mass produce a good product and moan about difficulty levels, I'm not worried. Everyone's really in it for the money aren't they?

You'll be hardpressed to find someone who's buying the machines for their excellent aesthetics or their golden voice Wink
What do you mean? I bought mine as an expensive alternative to a tumble-dryer  Cheesy
