No, original thread was started a year ago and has been abandoned. The official team only uses their outlets to distribute info about LBRY and don't mess with bitcointalk so I decided to just do it myself.
I try to help out the best I can but I'm not a LBRY employee, just a member of the community.

Where the project is now , who knows if they will ever NEED an official thread, Slack is as busy as ever, new users jumping in everyday, learning to publish on the platform. Testing, tweaking, with new features added with each build (pretty much everyday).

Is there a web app for this? Or will there be one in the future? I would hate downloading another blockchain. What if I only would like to watch the videos or share the videos I have? If I am just an ordinary person on the internet a web app would be very useful just like how Steemit did with their platform. There are many people outside of the cryptosphere that is using it because the barrier for entry is low.
You don't store the blockchain on your computer. I'm pretty sure it uses an Electrum style system where you don't have to store the whole blockchain already.
The install gives you all the required dependency files to run the software and wallet system.

Yes its real. But content which you publish with LBRY must be unique.

Unofficial, they don't have an official bitcointalk thread. Just one that was hosted by icocountdown. I wanted to make sure the OP is able to be edited so when info and stuff roll out I can update it since icocountdown decided to leave. Just community support that's all
