See below for formula used within the code.  X is the # of days.

http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=plot+floor((floor(sqrt(x*144+%2B+1)+-+1)%2F2)*-1+%2B+500,+x+%3D+0+to+7300

in 100 days, it will be at 440.

damn too slow, the interest may shift on something else and lbry might be forgotten

should have been faster until 250, and then slow like that until 50 or so

"too slow" based on your assessment...I'm sure this was all very well thought out.  The hashrate is rapidly increasing, which means more miners are finally realizing the potential of LBRY.  I especially liked the slow mining start (something zCASH will be doing) and the ramp up - it evens the playing field and allows everyone who is interested to get in on the project.

I believe in LBRY long term - there are no competitors coming even close to what their vision is, they have a working product, a very professional and dedicated dev team and I'm sure sooner or later they will get some big name content producers in who will realize the value of such a platform.  Take Redbull for instance - they are sharing via Amazon and other media providers - how much do you think those content hosting sites are taking in terms of profits?  With LBRY, Redbull would get the vast majority of streaming/download profits, and those who download the content and help share it would get rewarded as well.

he's speaking from an investor's pov. atm it's only miners profiting from this and therefore drive the price down every time it tries to pump. tell me something: how important are miners if there are no users? no wide usage means no potential investors. no new buyers means the price will go lower and lower because of the profitable mining. constant price drops makes it less lucrative for potential content creators. this will go on and on unless devs deliver a groundbreaking product with mass adoption potential.

Hey no sweat, just figuring out how the whole thing is working:
bGPbXN96QazP5ZHdeZoDrruShxfrcYRYSm

I dont understand how will I get microtransactions from this file. Just leave it there in My files > Downloaded will do the trick?

Yup, but I am checking to see if any ports need to be open.  What I did was download everything off the front page - and then eventually when others come in and download the content, you too will get part of the per MB fee.  Since I was an early user, I've made back everything I've downloaded so far.  So as long as the platform grows and more people download, the same should be possible - but it just may take longer.  Just sent the coins, give it a couple min.

Here is something I'm sharing on LBRY that I haven't been able to find on torrents or usenet server yet: lbry://redbullfourthphase - Travis Rice's new snowboarding flick.  Did a screen capture during the live broadcast last night! If you are using windows, just search Fourth Phase, the URLs don't redirect (or copy/past into your browser window).

Can you explain a bit more, do I need an lbry app to get this from u?
Putting lbry://redbullfourthphase in browser just did a google search.

You need to have LBRY windows or Unix wallet in order to download this.  In windows, once you have LBC running, you would go to http://localhost:5279/?show=redbullfourthphase in your browser - URL support is coming in the future for Windows.  Current price is 5LBC (~50 cents). If you download and then someone else later does too, you'll get a small chunk if you help host the file.

I've installed the wallet and started to download, but aside from 5LBC it is pulling some more LBC like 0.3LBC every minute or so, while the file is downloading. What is that for?
In total after download completed it took 12.7 LBC from my wallet.

that's something I actually asked recently on the slack.  I noticed that it says 5LBC (est) next to the downloads, so I think depending on the file size, it may pull more - still waiting for a response.  This is something that needs to be looked at by the dev team - I'm sure its fixable. Sorry, I didn't realize this sooner.  Hopefully we get some more hits on this file, so you'll start to see some micropayments when others download.

Give my your LBC addresss (go to receiving tab in wallet, and I'll send the other 7LBC back to you).

Got a response: it’s key fee + 0.005LBC/megabyte.  I've let them know they should update their estimates for the files based on this and to let the publisher know that's the case as well.  News to me!

So is this like YouTube? Or do I have to download a wallet to watch a video?

It downloads the physical files to your desktop PC.  This is like a decentralized version of youtube where most of the profits go to the content creator/publisher as opposed to the service (youtube).
