The best method is actually practice. Internet makes it very easy to get in touch with native speakers if you can't speak face to face. Try to use special forums for language exchanges where learners look for someone to paractice. It enriches the best.
I love learning languages Spain
Learning a new language is very interesting and useful, but I think it's much better if you live in that country and constantly communicate with its residents in a foreign language. 
In my opinion to learn other language online Duolingo website is one the best methods.

I'm thinking either French or Spanish. I'm familiar with Spanish so it would definitely be easier. I know of some the apps and programs that people use but I want to know which one people like the best. I just want something that I don't have to devote hours a day too but something I can just pick up when I have free time. All opinions are appreciated. Just trying to get smarterer

You can listen to songs and watch movies you already know in a new language. You will be able to correlate the things easily.
Start from learning alphabets and number system and then try to make small sentences.
Taking in another dialect is exceptionally fascinating and valuable, however I believe it's vastly improved on the off chance that you live in that nation and always speak with its inhabitants in a remote dialect.
You can watch YouTube videos instead, as they are free. But if you really want to learn new languages, I suggest you try it in VR. Apparently it is a new way to learn a new language and it has been helping a number of people learn foreign languages quickly.
If you want to learn the language of a particular place I think you should study the place and relate yourself with the people.you will start learning qradually

I have many friends who speak different languages so, I started interacting with them in their native language.
If you have a big wish,I think there won’t be a problem for you to learn a new language. Watching YouTube and and taking to native will help a lot

I can learn a new language when my best friend from another area that is not the same language from the frequent me with him I accidentally understood a little language 
Learn the top 500 vocabulary, the grammar and how to conjugate properly. Then, depending of your goals, you should discover what area are you more interested in (speaking, reading...). I find writting a useful method, because that's when you struggle the most (it's better if it's then reviewed).
