ok guys, now there are 2 days left until the start of Serie A and I have already placed my first bets

Frosinone - Napoli 2 @ 1.38
Genoa - Fiorentina X @ 3.3
Inter - Monza 1 @ 1.39

total odds 6.33

given the odds I think it's quite feasible
I welcome advice and opinions  Wink

I voted for Inter to become the champions of the 2023/24 season. Because I also believe they have made big progress in the recent times. Bookies must be thinking the same that Inter are the biggest favourite @2.75. Napoli were given @4.00 odds right after them and Juventus follow them @4.33.

I understand the gap between Inter and Napoli because Napoli aren't a team that become champions quite often in the Serie A. This was their 3rd league title 2 of which were won in the 1986/87 and 1989/90 seasons. Although they still have almost the same squad they have changed their manager. Spalletti has left his place to Rudi Garcia. We don't know how things will go from now on yet.

I'm just surprised with the small difference between Napoli and Juventus in odds. Because Juventus aren't having good days honestly.

Napoli did the bullshit of sending Spalletti away, all new and they also lost a lot of pieces. As an enemy of Inter, I hope Milan win instead. But in fact at the moment it is the strongest team unfortunately. I hope not Tongue

@giammangiato I have voted for Roma because I feel that this will be Mourinho’s year and he’ll definitely help Roma win the league title. Furthermore I’m impressed by the player’s he’s bought and Sanches will have a point to prove and if he can rediscover his form then he’ll definitely help Roma in their chase for the top spot and that’s why I’m backing them to win the title.

I would very much hope that Mourinho would win the championship, for a couple of reasons. We would go to replicate a statistic that has been missing since 1970 where 5 different teams won the championship in previous years
Inter 1966
Juventus 1967
Milan 1968
Fiorentina 1969
Cagliari 1970.

If Roma, who are a contender for the title this year, were to win even if with little chance, in 2024 there would be 5 different teams that won a Scudetto in previous years

Juventus 2020
Inter 2021
Milan 2022
Napoli 2023
Roma 2024(?)

this is the maximum record established in Serie A on this type of statistic which is still unbeaten for more than 50 years, replicating it would already be a record, beating it would not only be difficult but beautiful

📣 Finally we are in the final stages, and the Napoli fans can be happy, Victor Osimhen and Napoli will bind until 2026, he will be the highest paid player in all of Serie A with 10m a year, and at his request he wanted the clause termination clause to be lowered to 150m so that he can link up with other clubs more easily. All that is missing now is the signature on the contract which will arrive shortly.

Judging from the transfer window I'll say Ac Milan stand a better chance than inter in winning the league trophy they brought in a good number of talented players across Europe including Samuel Chukwueze from villareal and Chelsea's Christian Pulisi, now we all know how these two players could  be when they're in  there best form and if they both adapt quickly to Ac Milan's style of play without sustaining any injury this season it would be a big boost for their team cause both players are very good coming from the flanks.
Would had picked Juventus as the favourite but I'm still yet to know if they'll be given a ban this season again concerning the situation of Lukaku moving to their team, but asides any ban Juventus would be very tough contenders and retain their title as the champions of Italy, well only time would tell if Rudi Garcia is equal to the task to recreating the winning mentality in his team like Spalletti did before he resigned.

Among the contenders for winning the Scudetto, in my opinion the team that has the most chances for the moment is Inter, but they have many unknowns, and also top-level players have left, the friendlies played by Inter so far have highlighted major gaps! we'll see. Milan has strengthened a lot, but has practically changed the whole midfield, currently I don't see them as the main contender for the Scudetto, but I could also be wrong and the rest of the championship will show us the true strength of Milan. Napoli starts as favorites but hasn't strengthened enough, moreover the change of coach can have a lot of impact both positively and negatively! I think it will be a good duel between Inter and Napoli

Yesterday evening I watched the Coppa Italia match between Cagliari and Palermo, which ended in extra time with Cagliari's victory with a goal in the 120th minute, result 2-1.

from what I've seen, even if Palermo plays in Serie B I think they will be a contender for the final victory of the Serie B championship, the City group is doing a really good job in Palermo. who knows maybe next year he could return to Serie A

For Cagliari, on the other hand, I see a very tortuous road in Serie A, they have to improve and quickly if they don't want to meet again among the relegated to Serie B.

What do you think about it? I'd love to read your opinions

The Serie A games haven't started yet, but speaking of probable teams that could become champions this season, I think that this task will be a very difficult mission, because the Italian teams seem to have stopped in time, it's not like in the past when there were big names in the world of soccer, such as luis figo, ronaldinho, ronaldo, cristiano ronaldo, last season inter only reached the champions league final thanks to luck, if we look at inter or any other team in the serie A that is in the champions league and we ask ourselves if any of these teams would really have conditions to reach the final and be champions of the european champions league i would say that all italian teams do not have conditions

about who will be the Italian champion this season I would say that it is also difficult to predict, in this part any of the teams can be champion, because all of them are not very strong, so the team that is more lucky will win. Juventus has not made any big signings for this season, just brought in Manuel Locatelli, Moise Kean, Timothy Weah, Arkadiusz Milik, Facundo González. in all, juventus did not spend more than 80 million euros on signings, that is a very low amount, that is, juventus is not investing to have a strong squad that would fight for the title. looking at napoli, they didn't lose many of their good players, but they lost a very important part of the team, which was their coach who retired and that will make a lot of difference this season, i believe that with that putting napoli as a candidate for the title again would not be something I would bet on

Inter also lost their goalkeeper, they didn't buy Lukaku who saved Inter in the last few games and I didn't see Inter making big signings, honestly I don't see them getting far in the champions league, but they could win the series A luckily. looking at milan they made some signings, but they are not big signings in my opinion, honestly I don't understand what is happening with the big teams in italy, so the milan squad is almost the same as last season, so i expect the same thing from them . about Roma, they didn't make any big signings, but they sold some players, I also hope they do the same thing as last season. to have a good performance you need to change what is not well, and what is not well is the weak cast and that has not changed anything. so i expect the same thing from them

by now the Italian championship no longer has the appeal it once had, in Serie A it has now become a starting point and no longer an arrival point for the most promising players! even the distribution of television agreements is significantly lower than in many other leagues, just to give an example, the bottom classified in the premier league earns as much for television rights as the winner of series A! from here it is very clear that the English championship cannot have direct competitors, and if someone wants to invest by buying a football club they will bet on any English team because they generate the most profits ever.

It will be increasingly difficult for Italian teams to compete in the Champions League but I would like to correct you, Inter didn't find themselves in the final by luck alone, they still beat their opponents, and in the final I don't think they disfigured against a very great Manchester City, who to get to the final he had to create a team worth more than 900 million, almost triple what inter is worth, I could understand how lucky you mean for the draws, I'd agree with you! facing Benfica is not the same as facing PSG

Today there are 4 Coppa Italia matches scheduled

  • Frosinone - Pisa
  • Udinese - Catanzaro
  • Genoa - Modena
  • Bologna - Cesena

Frosinone - Pisa has already started and leads Frosinone 1-0 as I'm writing
However, the match that I think will be worth watching is Genoa - Modena, a match where we could see the new signing of Genoa Retegui in action and see how he behaves in the Italian league

First let's measure the odds of Juve getting another points deduction  Grin

Enough though, they were excessively harsh with Juventus
I mean, it was also excluded from the Cup, it seems to me that it was exaggerated for a moment
It is true that I am a Juventus fan, but in all honesty they really went too far

hey bro, i think it was just humor! don't get nervous Wink I think Juventus paid for the mistakes they made, as it should be! if it had been another team you could have been humorous too

Samardzic and Balogun are also other transfer targets for Inter currently.

However I don't know if there is really a big need for a central midfielder right now unless they are about to sell at least one of the current midfielders. Because there are 6 central midfielders in the squad already. They are just making the number too high which can cause big problems about playing time. I hope Inzaghi has a plan about this situation.

I fully agree with what you said, Inter already have many players in midfield and Samardzic would only be one more player for the rotations that Simone Inzaghi will be able to do, this purchase is certainly dictated by the fact that they want to sell Stefano Sensi because very discontinuous in performance and is subject to continuous injuries, although he considers Sensi an excellent midfielder, his fragility does not allow you to count on him, especially when you have to compete for the Championship, the Italian Cup and the Champions League.

Balogun would be a really nice replacement for Lukaku. He has been quite productive in the recent times as a young striker. Maybe we can see a similar coherence between him and Martinez to the Lukaku - Martinez duo in the past. But I think this wouldn't be a permanent deal. He would be loaned to Inter by Arsenal.

For the fans, Balogun would certainly be an excellent addition to the Nerazzurri team, but unfortunately Inter are struggling financially and the price asked by Arsenal is out of reach for Inter. I too would see an excellent attacking couple Lautaro-Balogun but it seems that Marotta is negotiating for players who are more economically accessible to Inter's finances

Yesterday Inter officially concluded the deal for Emil Audero who will join the neroazzuri on a temporary basis and with an obligation to buy.
While Filip Stankovic will instead take the opposite route and join Sampdoria in Serie B to gain experience, a second sin! Stankovic seemed very promising to me.
Now we await the official purchase of Samardzic and then Inter will concentrate their efforts on a striker, Taremi, Arnautovic are on the list but Bologna are asking a lot, and Martial from Manchester UTD.

For Juventus it seems that he is working to terminate the contract with his captain Leonardo Bonucci, news that is leaving the Juventus fans speechless.
These are the latest transfer market news from Serie A

Juventus won't wing anything in the next years because they are once again in a dirty situation and I don't see this club to get into surface anytime soon.

What I do want instead , is to see Lazio becoming Serie A champions as it's been to long since they won it and if Napoli did it , I'm sure Lazio can find a way and a solid project to get them there.

I think you're right, an uncertain future lies ahead for Juventus and it will be difficult to return to being the Juventus they were a few years ago, unfortunately for them mistakes made in bad faith are paid for and also at a high price.

Lazio, as you rightly said, hasn't won the Serie A championship for many years, 2001 I think? I don't remember exactly... but currently it doesn't have a team capable of competing for the final victory! I want to be wrong but it is highly difficult! even the bookmakers quote it at 15 on the final victory. who knows! maybe we will see a new happy ending.
What makes you think that Lazio could win the Scudetto?

According to recent media news, it seems that the negotiation that should bring Romelu Lukaku to Juventus and Dusan Vlahovic to Chelsea is still in a stalemate, in order to deprive Juventus of the strong striker, Juventus are also asking for a balance of 40 million in addition to Lukaku but Chelsea it doesn't go beyond 25 million + Lukaku.

I think it will be difficult for this deal to be made at these figures, as it would mean a capital loss for Juventus

Yeah, I also believe that the deal will not go through because Chelsea are not happy with the offer made in exchange for Lukaku. This Lukaku issue has become very serious because neither Juventus nor any other team are interested in trading for him, and because Chelsea already have a number of young players who are capable of performing well this season, I think that they should sell Lukaku at any cost because they also do not need to have him back on the team. Because of his performance for Inter Milan, I think that if Chelsea needs Lukaku, they won't want to trade him for another player; instead, they'll want to use him as their season's leading striker.

I've heard a rumour that Juventus supporters shouted at their stadium yesterday after the team's game that they did not want Romelu Lukaku to join them because he is a traitor. I think Juventus should consider this situation before signing Lukaku to the team because if the supporters of a team dislike a player, there is a problem. In order to be able to sign Lukaku, Juventus should ask their fans and also communicate to them in a reasonable way that would calm them down. If they get Lukaku and the fans do not want him, they will lose a lot of fans.

Unfortunately this whole situation was created by Lukaku himself! last year during the coopa italia semifinal match between inter and juventus, lukaku quarreled with many juventus players and accused them heavily, he also responded to the insults of the juventini fans, then swore eternal love to inter! but when inter reached an agreement with chelsea for his permanent transfer, lukaku disappeared into thin air only to discover that he had reached an agreement with juventus. That's why Inter consider him a traitor. Now most likely the agreement between juventus and chelsea will not be done because the parties are distant between supply and demand and I think the last resort for lukaku is to move to Arabia and end his career there

in any case, I cast my prediction
In my opinion this year the best candidate to win is Inter
he didn't upset the team, he didn't change the coach
so for me it is the most solid team among other things second in the Champions League

Inter are certainly a strong team, but they have also changed too many players to be labeled as the number one contender for the title.

Onana, Handanovic, Skriniar, Brozovic, Dzeko, Lukaku, Gagliardini and D'ambrosio are gone
Virtually all owners and department heads

the new signings instead are Sommer, Audero, Bisseck, Cuadrado, Frattesi, Samardzic, Thuram, Di Gennaro.

All good players and Frattesi and Cuadrado stand out but the technical gap between those who have been sold and those who have been bought is very different.

Talking ahead of course is easy! We'll see during the championship if Inter will win the Scudetto or not
