So did some of you suffer the same fate as me?
Sometimes you have to think that once a Legendary is achieved then merit are just a reward for each of your quality posts (no longer a requirement to rank up). I checked your post history and it's true that you have a habit of posting on gambling board but that doesn't make you 100% post something there. I was able to find some of your posts on several other boards including local board, beginners and help and etc. That's great because you don't just focus on one board, but sometimes some of your posts can still be missed by merit source or other users because the merit system is not moderated and people will judge what they deserve.

Don't worry, you'll also get the attention merit source deserve if your posts are what they want. Just do what you find useful.

You post mostly (https://ninjastic.space/user/id/537721) on the Gambling section. I don't know how those people merit, I've never written a letter in the Gambling section, but I'm sure that there are much less merit sources active there. This must be the main reason if we assume you're providing some quality content.
I think merit source do post on gambling threads, but are most posts on gambling threads merit worthy if compared to posts on boards that users highly receive merits.

From my experience...
Chipmixer is full of high quality posters of the top rank if ranking should be considered, this was theymos favourite while choosing merit source the last time (I guess), maybe probably more merit source are needed compared to good and active posters that applied.

Don't create another merit source application; show to the admins you know what's a high quality post. Actions speak louder than words.
Has ShowOff created merit source application before? I did not know if he had. This are the lists of recent merit source applications that I know and ShowOff is not among.

I admit that I have a good feeling on the forum especially about how I reached Legendary rank. I managed to get 524 merit so far and I was promoted to Legendary at the end of October 2021. I'm excited for that, and I've stated it in a few posts too.

However, I would also like to say that after Legendary was achieved, the amount of merit earned from November to now seems to have been greatly reduced. I've only received 24 merit since then until now although I also keep trying to post something useful. I don't know how many people ignore my post than it deserves, it doesn't matter to me. But I just want you to correct me about do I get more merit because I also believe that it can help other users? I currently have 0 sMerit, it makes it hard for me to appreciate other users' quality posts.

So did some of you suffer the same fate as me?

Yeah I will tell you why you are getting screwed.

1024 makes you look like an old legend that was given 1000 and shit posted his way to 1024.

So many simply skip over you.

When I saw your thread title I wondered if you were an old legend and thought I would not bother reading the thread.

However I did and I also bothered to post a likely explanation of the issue.

Also gave you 2 merits.

The grass is always greener on the other side. If you ask newbies they'll tell you that legendaries are getting all the merits even though they don't "need" them.

The only thing that really matters is whether good posts (regardless of who posted them) are getting merited and if you feel that's not the case - report them here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/self-moderated-report-unmerited-good-posts-to-merit-source-5093271

1. When one is striving to achieve a certain rank, he puts up some certain efforts to achieve such a rank. When that rank is achieved, there's a tendency of not maintaining momentum. Which I think is your case.

2. You are legendary fellow and older than me here, you should know too well that the merit system is working. There was when I was being so bothered if I don't have smerit to give to quality posts. I was even advised to bookmark them so that I can merit when I have smerit. But it never worked for me. At a time I stopped bothering about smerits when I knew there are merit sources doing the work well.

3. The distance between merit and gambling discuss posts is about 20kms.

4. If you want to increase your merits, stop relaxing as legendary, help answer newbie questions, engage in thread discussions and involve in sanitising the community.

I believe there has been talk before about legendary rank get more merits than other ranks. I suggest you look back at your recents posts, what has changed in your post history. Are you posting in boards that are visited by merit sources? Like BlackHatCoiner said, it is common knowledge that posts in gambling section do not get many merit neither do altcoin discussion.
Another reason might be cause you are a legendary member now your posts may not have as much merit as a newbie or junior member who made the same post because sometimes posts are rewarded for effort and not always quality. So a lower rank may be rewarded for putting effort into a long post that has no new information whereas a legendary will not get the same reaction as he is assumed to know more. It is not easy to have earned 1000+ merits that is enough to show your value. Any reduction in your merit count could be as a result of several factors: Merit sources focusing on newbies and those who need merit to rank up, merit sources not being active on the forum e.t.c

There are also sometimes I wish to give more than 1 smerits but I have to give 1 so that I will be able to distribution more smerits to quality and useful posts.
And this is what you should do. Whoever doesn't have enough sMerits (and want to become a source) should just show they recognize a notable post.

If you think you can offer your time to read quality posts and merit the posts, you can as well apply for merit source.
From my experience, you just need to do the above. Don't create another merit source application; show to the admins you know what's a high quality post. Actions speak louder than words.

Yes, but I do receive merits. There are sometimes I have 0 smerits left and there are sometimes I wish to merit but no smerits left. There are also sometimes I wish to give more than 1 smerits but I have to give 1 so that I will be able to distribution more smerits to quality and useful posts.

If you think you can offer your time to read quality posts and merit the posts, you can as well apply for merit source. You are an established member already.

I do not think it is wrong for who feels this way to apply for merit source if he is an established member.

But above all, merit system is still work perfectly.
