should i need merit for rank up my account or i can do another method to rank up my account? Huh
To reach Jr. Member rank, you don't need to get Merit, it's enough to have 30 activity. But for all higher ranks you need to get specific amount of Merit alongside with activity. And there are no alternative ways to rank up. If there would be - then what's the point of Merit system?

I as a noobie would like to know as well how to get merit and move up in ranks!

Please help
All you have to do is write something, that might be interesting and useful for other users. Unfortunately most of the newbies are not good at crypto, so maybe you should write about something youre good in. This might bring you some merits if youre lucky

Its all about where you post and what you post, if you post a useful information that is well researched or answers a lingering question well the you will get merits, just don't expect to be writing anything anywhere and get merited

There are many threads regarding merits on the forum already, but few of them talk about which I consider being the most important point: Do not get obsessed with merits.
For you can write a great thread and it can be lost in between all the topics in here. There are too many people here in the forum, and new threads are wroten each minute. That's because the best move is to relax, to do your best and to not wait for merits everytime you think you have written a great text 'cause maybe it isn't regarded as you hope and you can feel frustrated.
Another advice should be: choose well where to post. If you are always posting in the altcoin section it is going to be difficult to earn merits. I think the best way is to post in many sections, always by reading before posting about the topic in discussion. I think the "press" one is a really good section to post because there is always hot discussion about whatś going on with the crypto world on the press.
Inform yourself. Of course. Before even writing a single word, learn about, read a lot, and think about what is your own opinion, take a minute to build an idea, reflex about the topic... For good topics need a previous meditation.
The last advice: never beg for merits. We all are tired of people begging for merits on the Newbie and the Meta board. Begging is not the way, you all should learn it as soon as possible, for the only think you are going to achieve by begging is to be put on "ignored" by many users.

So, in short, those are my bits of advice. I have many more, but all of them has been told here, so read before posting, read every answer. Read, read, read...

Finally, I have found an answer I can relate to. I particularly enjoyed the point about where you post (Posting in altcoins section instead of News). I personally do not obsess over Merits as I believe they'll come in due time. Thanks once again for this.

I might add...
- Explore the forum. Do not stay just on the brightness boards, but go to the deep ones, you will discover much useful information in places like Marketplace, for instance. Also, they are less crowded, so your texts maybe will receive more attention!!
- Use your own language board, as well. If you are not a native-English-speaker (like myself), then use your language as much as possible while learning English in order to improve your skills and being able to write properly (to me it is a work in progress).

There are many similar topics like this one, I will just give you a little tip because I already give my answer to this question many times.

Here's a new tip review this link, it consist of all recent merit sends in the forum.
Then review those merited post and ask your self why this post get merit, of course exclude to your research those merited post that dont really deserve a merit.

Here in the section I saw a few topics in which users with a high rank distribute sMerit for the best of your messages
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0.
Look and you will find several such topics. Basically, you will choose from all your posts the top 5 in your opinion and give links to them.
Whose messages to the creator of the topic like, that's what he gives sMerit
