I want to ask the community here, do you trust Libra anymore ?

There are people who never trusted Libra project, I`m one of them. There is more then one reason, first of all is that
I don`t like FaceBook, they have been accused and convicted for selling private data`s more then once. Second reason
is more important, they plan to be stable coin, so what we investors in crypto-currencies have from that? That coin
will not rise, or have potential future, it will be there for using, you can buy it and spend it like any other currency
with stable value.
Libra will serve the purpose, it will introduce people with real crypto-currencies. It`s only good thing from entire
Libra project.

The backlash the Libra is facing from the regulating authorities all over the world makes me doubt whether this project is even going forward. Facebook which has been involved in privacy breach before, can't be trusted when it comes to taking care of transactions and money. Paypal has already come out of the association and others might follow soon. Even if it sees the light of the day I doubt Libra will be the king in crypto space.

That's quite impossible, new and old cryptocurrency king is Bitcoin. European countries Germany and France already rejected Libra coin, this is the bad effect. European countries rejected Libra because it could be a threat to a stable EU economy.

Until February 2020 I bet more than 30% of them will retire giving a hard time for Libra to gather the necessary funds. PayPal already retired from the Libra program and in the coming days due to the regulation problems some of them will follow PayPal decision.

I want to ask the community here, do you trust Libra anymore ? Because for sure it cannot be the King of crypto , those are just dreams ant nothing else as no one could over take bitcoin no matter how hard they try. Just because they have some big companies names that are willing to invest into Libra this won't put the currency into top 1 ...or even top 10 so just stop dreaming.

Gonna have a hard time getting to be the new crypto king..if it cannot even get approval to exist as a centralized coin.

Just saying. Also, I read Paypal and some others are pulling out and some other major backers.

I guess it has turned into too much of a political cluster.

Lol, wall-said. To be a new crypto king not so easy, if you're centralized, it's harder. I did not see this thread before. But i must say that it's very heartbreaking for the starter.

PayPal already pulled out and Mastercard and Visa considering to resile. I don't think Libra can achieve its goals in the short-term and the long-term. Mark Zuckerberg is simply fraud, and nobody should believe him, even if he created a blockchain startup.

There had been only one crypto king and there will be only one crypto king, Bitcoin.

I know that Facebook announced Libra and its a very big project with many established partnership. But its not what we want. Libra will not follow the basic fundamental of crypto currency that is decentralization. Libra is a fully centralized crypto.
of course, the focus of Libra will be the use of coins for their platforms. there are interesting things where large companies are behind libra. they have the great ability to make libra into a very large coin. even though it is only a centralized crypto, libra will focus on achievement and function.

i believe, even a huge company behind this libra will not make libra replacing bitcoin as the king of crypto
but, the impact will be good for crypto world especially for bitcoin, because a lot people will learn more about cryptocurrency because of libra

Well, with great joy do we welcome Facebook Libra to the crypto space and I will be glad to use it, if it will serve the functions that I desire. However, I still regard bitcoin to be the king and it will continue to be the king of all crypt I currencies. We truly need more projects that have useful use cases and notb the sh*t coins that are in their numerous numbers.

I hope this won't setback the development of Libra. Libra's development is already in uncertainty as the US congress has not been decisive in it. It would be good for everyone including US and Facebook to come into an understanding and launch Libra as a freely transferable and exchangeable crypto. If they are not able to take a decision soon, they would be left behind by other countries and companies.

Libra could have been a good boost to the crypto adoption around the world but the future of itself seems unpredictable.
One of the reasons for Libra having lower chances of getting the light is Facebook's dependency on the US. Europe has been pretty friendly towards human rights, privacy and crypto while US focus on tracking every moves to micromanage the population.

You can't say that Libra is the new crypto king. It is just an stable coin that will make cryptocurrency known in the whole world. It will be just only that. And it will be also a coin that will be used in facebook platform or any platform that will avail Libra coin as payment method. It could be also a safe haven for us since we have another stable coin to choose from other than USDT, USDC and many more.

How  can a coin that is not yet available for people to use be the new king of cryptocurrency? it is true  that the Libra coin will increase the adoption and use of cryptocurrencies but i don't really see it to become the next king of crypto. Bitcoin will always be the king of cryptocurrency...

I don't think so. I understand that Libra is a big project and backed by Facebook and some big giant company. But its fully centralized. Maybe for Libra many people will be introduced to this crypto space and a mass people will join. But that doesn't mean it will be the crypto king. Its even don't follow the basic rules of crypto.

its crazy how Libra went from
-- Omfg itS GuNnA KiLL BTC (ya right)   to
-- Omg  its gonna be HUGE to
-- Omg its gonna fail

all in like less than one year :O

i just want it to launch to speculate on, that shit will pump for SURE Tongue

I don't know how that will pump when Libra is design as a stable coin, can you expound it a bit, I'm just curious on how did you arrive your idea.
Anyway, if Libra will be launch, I think the effect on pump will be on bitcoin or on the altcoins market, it will help this market to revive from bearish to bullish, that thing I'm very confident.

I don't understand how can anyone consider Libra as new crypto king and why there is so much fuss about its launch. Lawmakers in the USA and France have already called for the project to be halted. The tech company itself is starting to question the viability of it. Even Zuckerberg put Libra launch date in doubt. I don't expect anything good from Libra even it it will be eventually launched.

Paypal has formally withdrawn from Libra Association:

PayPal Withdraws From Facebook-Led Libra Crypto Project

Quote
PayPal has withdrawn from the Libra Association, the company announced Friday.

A PayPal spokesperson told CoinDesk in a statement that the payments firm “made the decision to forgo further participation” in the Facebook-initiated crypto project, to instead “continue to focus on advancing our existing mission and business priorities as we strive to democratize access to financial services for underserved populations.”

The statement continued:

“We remain supportive of Libra’s aspirations and look forward to continued dialogue on ways to work together in the future. Facebook has been a longstanding and valued strategic partner to PayPal, and we will continue to partner with and support Facebook in various capacities.”
