Both of these coins are centralized and although the financial bodies are partnering with xrp, it doesn't mean Libra will get that support. They all put forward what they want and if facebook can do that, they won't get partnerships. I know facebook's CEO is one guy who like to do things by himself and no partnerships. This may affect him.
The fact and bottom line is that Libra may be widely accepted but it may not be able to compete with bitcoin and the old currencies and even if things are done underground, to make Libra the best coin, it shall be noted. We all know of how people criticize xrp for the kind of management that goes on with xrp issuance.
That's certainly true, mate. Despite these facts, I believe that Libra might turn to become successful in the long term due to branding recognition (Facebook). After all, Facebook is the world's largest social media conglomerate where most people have heard of it. That mainstream recognition could prove to be beneficial towards Libra itself, as the chances of adopting the cryptocurrency for everyday transactions becomes greater over time. In contrast, XRP's Ripple company is not well known within the mainstream world. It may have gathered a lot of bank partnerships, but it may all come to an end once Libra becomes prominent upon launch. We've seen the most recognized companies of the world backing Libra (like eBay, PayPal, Visa, etc). Libra could gain a competitive advantage over XRP because of its greater support of businesses and corporations worldwide.
Which is why, I believe that it'll be survival of the fittest between both Libra and XRP. Being centralized cryptocurrencies, shows us that they may get the attention they deserve within the financial industry. However, they'll never defeat Bitcoin or other decentralized cryptocurrencies because of the way they're designed. After all, Bitcoin is the one cryptocurrency which started the crypto craze. Companies, businesses, central banks, and governments worldwide began interested into Bitcoin's blockchain technology after its inception. In the end, no matter how hard these centralized cryptocurrencies try (Libra and XRP), they'll never become a replacement of established cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. As time goes by, we'll see how successful Libra and XRP will turn out to be within the mainstream world. Just my thoughts
