Both coins are centralised and there is a risk of re-org in both blockchain-ledger. Facebook is not going to let the anonymous investors invest in the Libra and the requirements like KYC, AML will be more inconvenience for the crypto investors. XRP has the highest transactions per second feature and it is extensively used by big banks, payment systems that want to test the efficiency of the blockchain based payment transfers.

I think If Facebook's coin could be released, it would become one of the biggest altcoin at the moment. Even bitcoin would hardly comparable.
So that, if Libra comes online, I have no doubt that it would change cryptocurrency market!

but you must remember without bitcoin, libra will never born
maybe libra will replace xrp or other alts, but i believe libra will not replacing bitcoin as the king of cryptocurrency my friend

First point of correction, it is impossible for both to become the currency of the world, because for a currency to become a unified one, then it must win the support of the majority of the world leaders, I mean presidents who must append their signature and agree to use such currency, and I really doubt if there is ever going to be a time that these people will ever agree to use same currency, because everyone has their own interest.

I just read today that china is trying to build their own cryptocurrency too which I am not sure the new will be true, but let us assume there is element of  truth in it, china would rather prefer to have their own currency for the citizen, while other countries would do the same too. So just forget about these two coins becoming world’s coin.

I think libra will be very difficult following the existence of XRP. remember now with the position of XRP that has exceeded far above libra. although maybe libra will be famous for having collaborated and brought the name from Facebook but Libra needs a long time to be able to match the price position of XRP. not to mention later when there is a problem that can make Libra prices go back down, automatically the process of returning to its original position will also take a fair amount of time too.

Libra is a stable coin. XRP is not backed by anything.
Libra is centralized. XRP is centralized.
Libra TPS - probably unlimited (since it is not a blockchain technology), XRP - 1500 TPS.
Libra will be restricted in some countries. XRP is not.  Smiley

from the information, of course libra is able to defeat XRP. it's just that we don't know how Libra was launched. I just feel that it will be a competitor of the current altcoin. from the information available, Libra is certainly a pretty good altcoin, even that might be equivalent to ETH.

Libra would defeat XRP without any doubt, because I believe they want to realise the same goal. Libra has more supporters and is backed by more than 100 big companies including such giants as Facebook, Uber and many others.

whatever LIBRA goes, I don't think Facebook can beat BTC neither XRP with LIBRA.

I heard some rumors that Libra Project by Facebook might be canceled

Point of correction, Libra is no longer facebook coin but a coin which belong to a group (facebook, coinbase, some institutions etc) and it have no concept to take the place of BTC cause it will be pegged to some fiat currencies as it was stated in the white paper. Besides, ot also a centralize coin but the coin will definitely replace XRP.

Meanwhile, i also read about the cancellation news but it too late to believe that.

It is a good point of you and we can expect Libra coin main takes the volume of xrp.
Along with that it really of xrp also can go cheaper than what we are buying now. I believe this both companies me meet and discuss about it before the launch of Facebook official coin.
If you ask me e which is a better one, I will surely go with libra coin.

Oh come on. It’s nothing to compare here. They’ve got different reasons to be created. And it makes much sense that we have can have some of the biggest companies in the world looking at using blockchain or something like it. People would get to realize that XRP does it better. And XRP now has to work harder to get big tech adoption.

Libra use BFT algorthim with POS system :

The Libra Blockchain uses a Byzantine Fault Tolerant algorithm, which can tolerate up to one third of the validators being malicious. Libra uses a Proof of Stake approach to determine membership in the algorithm, which ensures consistency and security.

that means, there is a limit for its transaction. But again, why would we compare them? Libra is a stable coin and XRP is an unstable coin. Both of them are different in the first place.
another thing, will you really put your life into it? because zuckerberg knew everything about your life and now you are going to give him your wallet too?

I also think that Libra will be the toughest competitor for XRP and that can't be avoided. Many large companies have expressed support for Libra, of course it will have a big effect on investors. Most likely Libra will be included in the top 5 cryptocurrency by 2020. Very popular. Thank you very much!

Considering that Facebook's Libra will be an extremely centralized cryptocurrency, it might very well be adopted by financial institutions within the mainstream world. Ripple's XRP also has the same purpose where it could drive mainstream payments in a fast and cheap way, backed by many Banks worldwide. While both Libra and XRP have their similarities (in terms of centralization) they're certainly different by design.

If Libra's launch becomes a success, then XRP's existence may be threatened over the long term. Both cryptocurrencies would battle head-to-head in order to become the top choice of Banks worldwide. Comparing Libra vs XRP, Ripple has all the possibilities of taking the lead because of the many partnerships it has established with Banks worldwide.

Which is why, it makes me wonder whenever Libra will become the currency of the world or XRP? Or will they co-exist in the future? Huh
Libra and XRP have almost the same concept which believe Libra will take the crown from XRP due to level of support and the concept put together.
We still don't know for sure if the coin will be create, cause I learn that some governments are against the implementation of the coin because it will be pegged to some national currencies and the project features was believed by some governments official to cause obsolete of national currency which Libra will be pegged  cause people may prefer to use Libra rather than fiat.

It is true that Libra's launch will have its impact in the crypto market. Once its launch, its effect will be on transaction. As a result, other digital coins will face some sort of threats.

If Libra's launch becomes a success, then XRP's existence may be threatened over the long term.

This is a simple fact. Ripple is a whooped coin aready and I do not see how it will survive when Facebook Libra finally come up. With all the hood reviews ripple has over the years yet it is still in the cents per coin. It is even overvalued the way it is at present. I will not want to buy ripple for anything.

Could be a good competition between the two, but unfortunately, Libra coin will not launch and they have to concede because of too many barriers that they are facing, it's very unfortunate the government consider them a big threat.
this article will tell it all why
