ok once we get these how do we power them up? is there pins on the board to short or a switch?  Anyone have any solutions for this?

edit:
ok I got a few psu's laying around but I am unsure how to power on the power supplies without a host pc, what I'd like to do is have a nexus 7 or netbook run cgminer, how do I switch the power supply on? is there a switch I can buy for this?
One of the wires on the main cable on a PC power supply is an enable.
I have a surplus PC power supply I am going to use. I might hook the enable to a switch or just be lazy and use a paper clip to connect it.

Stop using branwallets
Steamboat said he has sample chips ready to fully test the final revision of the board.

But what good would that do if he already ordered the PCBs? Or are you saying he will test the final revision of the current board before ordering the PCBs?

I agree that BBKCoins seems almost ready, but maybe not quite. Can you shed any light on this, Steamboat?

Thanks Smiley

He'll have a prototype PCB made.  This is just 1  PCB.

+1

Also, will the PCB's be ordered at the same time for all the batches, or will there be an option to have the Rev. 2 PCB design for the later batches?

Steamboat, you wrote that the pcb design will be finished in the next 24 hours.. From following BkkCoins and terrahash, the Klondike design does not seem ready to me. Terrahash have a 16 chip board hashing with around 10% hardware error rate, bkk is down to less than 1% on his raspberry pi but having trouble with USB noise, and only this morning another tester reports no nonces from his chips 7 and 8... I think a few more days of testing before ordering production would be prudent.

Steamboat, what's the word on upgrading our assembly package? I know you mentioned the possibility some pages ago. I ask because I want to bump mine up from basic assembly to assembled with heatsink, etc.

It’s amazing what open source and honest collaboration can do on short notice.  I’ve seen companies of 50+ people struggling for months on similar projects and not pulling it trough.  If Bitcoin can foster such effective collaboration between random people, there’s got to be something of value in it (regardless any exchange rates)

I've been admiring this about the BTC community since day one.  It's nuts what some people are able to do in this economy.

i'd be interested in the case as a seperate package with mounting screws, and case fans assembled.  Would like this as cheap as possible since modding an atx case would be much much cheaper

Goonies never say die.
Cry   <-- this should be a happy face... but there is no happy face crying emoticon?!

Depending on the costs, I'd be interested in the case! I was planning on rigging up my own rack-mounted box out of an old server...  but this would be much more convenient, and likely better looking  Grin

Thanks for the update SB!

You gotta admit, if someone had proposed a virtual currency in 1969, people would have thought they were trippin'   Grin
History of computers for '69.

In '69, Unix was first announced, AMD was founded, Linus Torvalds was born, and the first network switch was installed in UCLA. I don't think even LSD would have helped them dream up half the stuff we've got today. There's a reason why Star Trek TOS looked so futuristic.

Any preliminary details on the 3U? # chips?  Add me to the interested list.

24 x K16s = 384 chips per 3RU miner max
