Very interested in the wattage draw. Also, can you post some pics of the miner?

How can writing a bootloader be so hard?  Or is there no room for it?  I thought that PIC had a lot of program space.
Considering the wait time for a bootloader it may be smarter to ship them as is, with maybe a cheap 10 dollar pic programmer so we can do it ourselves

The board already has ICSP wired in so really you just need a serial port programmer made up to fit.

Yeah, plenty of bootloader code out there for the PIC16's if you're willing to go the serial cable route. I have yet to see any working USB bootloaders for the PIC16 series. Plenty for the PIC18 series...

You are probably right that shipping without waiting for a USB bootloader may be wise. Keep in mind that updating firmware with a PIC programmer and USB to serial cable isn't something all consumers of the board will be capable of though.

Think. Positive. Thoughts.
Thanks for the update. So I guess this means the bootloader is a bust or these would be shipping already? The error rate doesn't seem to have changed since over a month ago, safe to assume hardware issue at this point? What are the new versions of cgminer giving?

Received refund for 450 chips.

Thank you for that SB, now waiting on info regarding the miners.
Can you share with us when you submitted the refund request?

16 Sept., I asked for 904 chips refund, got 450 yesterday 17 Oct.).

I still have no info regarding the potential refund for the hosted miners. I don' know whether anyone is mining with them ATM. From the info SB is (not) releasing, I assume he's still testing.

Steamboat gave me a unit to play with,it has an older version of firmware, but it works really well  Wink

Am I seeing 6GHs and 7.4 GHs?

Is that for a single k16?

Yeppers  Wink   Yes,1 lone K-16   Cry   But with the error rates its more like 4-4.5GH.

I got to take it back later to update to the newer firmware, but all 16 chips are hashing away  Cool

Need to get a Kill-a-watt meter,to measure power consumption.I think 25-35 watts was estimated..................

Steamboat has been doin many sleepless nights getting these going  Sad  Hang in there Steamboat !!!!!!!!!!!!!  Cheesy

Thank you Unnaceptable, that is very good news.

Again, the situation was not ideal, thanks to Yifu (the flake), but hopefully we will get the miners very soon.

I would have rather started mining at 80 mil difficulty, but at this point, I'll take what I can get.

Thank you for the update. I'm sure Steamboat is very busy.

Has anyone personally seen/spoken with Steamboat in the last two weeks?  Does anyone have contact information or know his physical location?

Chad

Unacceptable has phone and address as he helped put heatsinks on units.

Heh ya I'm depressed too shit! Lost my job after putting all my savings into bitcoin miners.  Lesson learned the hard way I suppose... Wish I had a refund to pay the bills Cry

SB dont care .. he got the BTC ... he will reply .. maybe .. someday
Seriously though, I wish he did care, I'm beyond screwed at this point, I took a risk I shouldn't have and now my livelihood is at risk.  I should have known better after being scammed and screwed by even friends in the past.  The only hope right now is for me to land a job in the middle of nowhere or get a refund so I can make bills.  I hope nobody dropped 5000+ on bitcoin miners like I have.  At the time it seemed like a foolproof deal.  I wish steamboat would have secured his customers investments even if they were blinded by hope.  I did request a refund and was at the cutoff.  I hope I can pay for my internet access to even run these miners.
