Iam waiting like many of other since early May, paid for assambly only and have 80 chips in batch 2. Thse boards/chips are now too delayed and best option IMO is to refund for chips which I did few hrs after steamboat email and with 25% assambly refund forget about this fiasco.
Nobody has anything from blaming this or that, it is what it is. Just want to get my chip refund and assambly and to go my own way.

He took a day off for refunds. Nobody reported today, yesterday dozens (of course, not all report of rendund on forum). But still I wonder why is he taking so slow?
it could be that people's signature verifications got screwed up, and his script that processes the refund may be taking time to redo or whatever, still though he needs to remain professional and keep his word about updating us more often, there is no excuse for that, im sure he has more information now since Yifu has shipped the remainder of Zefir's chips as well as SabastianJu's which Sabastian's batches are after our batch 1 & 2, if they were shipped in order Steamboat batches 1 & 2 should have been shipped and if were shipped by Fri he could be receiving them early this week from mon-wed if they were shipped from NY to FL..  This is just my speculating average shipping times, but I would hope and I think its probable that he is getting his hands dirty troubleshooting his prototype miners and working overtime on getting them hashing if he did get a shipping status update.  I hope my speculations and guess it right.

"I promise I'll update more, its unacceptable the amount of communication I've been providing as of late".

Continues to log into bitcointalk and remain silent, ignoring valid questions and does not provide status updates, let alone email replies citing if your refund was accepted or not.

Well, I'm sure that there is quite a number of refunds to process, so I'm not ready to hit the panic button just yet. Clearly, refunds are being processed, with what looks like a 3-4 day lag.

But, it is kind of strange to notice that, as I searched my e-mail outbox for payment details to the various Steamboat group buys, and also looked at the replies, I noticed when looking at the time stamps that when I sent money in, the response was often within 24 hours, and often within 12 hours.

Strange that the reverse isn't true. Or maybe, not so strange...

Food for thought.

I'm glad to say my refund was processed, but have to agree that I would like to hear more communication on plans & progress regarding miners, assembly and hosting refunds.

I'm also at a loss as to where to invest after I have received a refund..  Maybe a monarch LOL

After all this stress, the best place to spend the refunds may be SR. LOL   j/k

Still not received refund, I submited it several hrs after SB email.
SebastianJu also got tracking, I hope SB requested refund from yifu for enough batches to fullfill all refund requests.

Now is hard to think where to invest. Maybe SB will offer some other oportunities with a credit for those who purchased assambly.

Time to consider where to reinvest if at all...
Seems like the main options are KnC, Hashfast and cointerra
The difficulty rate has been going up so fast that it is becoming less and less likely that you'll get your reinvestment back, no matter what equipment you buy. The companies that make the hardware might be able to make some money, but the "little guy" has no chance.

I applied for a refund because we have received no news about any chips getting shipped to Steamboat.

Sad to say, but I just sent my refund request for batches 3,4, and 5.  Undecided

Hope I can still use the assembly hardware I paid for with the 2nd gen chips.

Refund request for B2 and B3 sent.

Not expecting a reply or refund for a few days as SB sounds a bit swamped.

Thanks

Steamboat.

It looks like all of Zefir's batches shipped. Perchance have you heard anything from Avalon or received anything yet ?
I'd like to know this too, our batch 1 & 2 is right after his last batch

Geeze what is taking so long with my refund? I'm missing out on new investments. I see others have received theirs as early as 4am EST today.

Personally, I'd rather have had the miners. I've looked at the firmware code, and while my programming experience was a while back, it appears there is a serious problem with the control function which switches on banks. As in, that function is not there, and there isn't a way to keep track of which bank is hashing the 0 bits, and which one is hashing the 1 bits....Bkkcoins used the the same preloading routine per bank of 8 chips, but it needs some sort of supervisory routine.

AFAIK that is not the case.  All 16 chips are working on the same piece of work, you don't need to know which chip or which chain the result came from.  For a single board the code is mostly intact.  There do seem to be electrical problems with the result data though.

If a new chip is found to be useable on a modified k16 unit, would there be a further refund on parts which were purchased for this group buy, or a credit to those of us that stay the course?

Yeah, kind of insane that there is as steamboat said a "TON" of parts -- that apparently he is keeping, that you paid for.

I don't think this is the case.  I believe if you get the 25% refund, the parts will also be sent to you.

those customers which purchased assembly will have the option of receiving the components purchased for production of the original units if they so choose.
(Emphasis mine.)

It says it's an option, not the default. I suspect there would be a shipping charge for receiving the parts, since the most recent update says he's offering 100% refund of the shipping fees.

The way I read it, there will only be an option for getting your components shipped if they DON'T do a next gen board of some kind:

"In the event we are unable to produce a redesigned unit, those customers which purchased assembly will have the option of receiving the components purchased for production of the original units if they so choose."

If they DO produce a next gen unit, you'll be "credited the full value of the components reused in producing the new units". Not sure what happens to the components that aren't reused. Also not sure what "credited" means. Sounds like a credit towards the purchase of a next gen miner...
