wow a record level of FUD on litecoin.....keep it up, I remember what happen last time litecoin was dead  Tongue

Expect to see a bunch more as people looking to buy in cheap before the next halving and prices skyrocket.

as I"ve said before ..I've got two Titan(s) the 1st no refund no roi Titan I got (drank the knc kool aid) I just MIGHT be able to ROI
on even at low LTC prices...because 1) i am a registered biz (bank error kinda had to sec involved had to show my bona fides to help fix bank error) ...so I have gotten
most already of my 25% equip off due to depreciation...which knocked it down from a 10,131.80 mistake to a 7598.85 mistake (whew?)
....dumb luck no mining taxes needed to pay due to amount of equip I got and because 2013 I was lite on making coin and 2014 sucked)

2) got a 2nd Titan for a great i mean great deal ....4.5 months ROI with 2 months to go...so using that as a winch i just might ..maybe
really really close squeak by to ROI with electric and BREAK EVEN.....a frigging lot of ifs to break even on the KNC scam of late delivery!

3) ALAS I kinda..... have to make the bet that LTC will go up..I am holding all i mine....and the ..mining the Titan(s) from LTC to BTC at these current low  prices just seems obscene so
it is a hope and a prayer that LTC goes back up to $4 like it was around in Nov 2013 when I got the Titan..or the above will likely not
be possible ...again a slow slog to get to break even...(again with elec) ...but at least i can see some very very small bit of day light on this.

(feel like I'm at a racetrack betting all on 1 pony to win to get me out of the hole with the bookies.....sharpens the mind it does)

so yeah ..the above with the halving is my hope to......or these units some day will even be MORE expensive doorstops

good thing home mining is dead.....can't take this stress anymore Smiley

from then on www.coinbase.com will be my friend Smiley

so what the LTC price is around the halving will make for some interesting times Smiley here in 112 Days

hell to think I was bored in 2012 before BTC came into my life lol Smiley sheesh!

Of course, bitcoin is still the main choice for me, because bitcoin is more powerful and also very suitable for investment

Right now the biggest things going on for BTC are basically:

1) Being the original altcoin: Has higher status than the rest of alts
2) Has a better and faster transaction time.

Unfortunately for LTC, BTC is going to increase its blocksize limit in the next update, which means Bitcoin will be faster than ever, therefore is one less thing that makes LTC worth it above BTC. Right now if i was holding LTC; I would keep holding it until the next pump (if it happens) because it truly cannot get any worse.

The proposed hardfork for blocksize limit has no effect on transaction speed or confirmation time(except indirectly if too many blocks are filled). Bitcoin will still have a confirmation averaging 10 minutes and litecoin 2.5. It is features like the "lightning network" which may bring instant confirmations in a decentralized manner-- currently we only see instant confirmations with btc payment processors.

I'm an advocate of litecoin, as far as I'm concerned It's a pretty big ocean out there better we have an armada of ships sailing together in the same direction rather than all being on a single Bitcoin boat which to me sounds pretty cramped and an isolated target.

I think Bitcoin is great and don't want to see any litecoin success at the expense of it but having only one single blockchain out there is completely shortsighted. It's not viable to have thousands of competing CryptoCurrencies the altcoin bubble has burst but a small basket of complementary ones is completely reasonable.

In future if development of a coin isn't to your taste at least you can vote with your feet without have to head back to fiat, that cannot be said if you follow the 'only Bitcoin' mantra and is at least one good reason why Bitcoin holders should consider having a small investment in litecoin.

This argument should be over by now. The market has cast its vote.
Yes, the price of litecoin apparently can't follow the price of bitcoin anymore.

Litecoin price might drop below 1 usd judging by its action today.

yes i guess litecoin is coming to dead
oh well
apparently, its obviously the end time is near litecoin

I am so confused.

What is better?  Which one do you guys recommend more?

Thank you for your time

Personally I will choose altcoin because of its price its not stable,
So its perfect for trading e-currencies, if we can get perfect time, it will make profit to ourselves.

If the reversal of Bitcoin is on the soon trip then the litecoin boom is coming faster than you can imagine. But, anything can happen.

did you know Gavin and its from his own words is increasing the block size even if bitcoin users are against, stating he only has to convince 5 people to do it (thats less people the had to be convinced to go with the banks big bailout. Shocked )...and good ol Mikey wants it too be just ONE!

Wow! When the family goes out to eat that's exactly how many people I have to convince to go to my favorite diner.

At least bitcoin has a decentralization factor of five. If Satoshi makes a surprise return that number will dwindle.

LTC/BTC is dropping each time the USD/BTC is rising. This has been going on for at least 6-8 months.

Not a good sign for LTC. Not at all.

If i had to make a call on LTC's future i'd say its going to tank.

I can LTC already dead since a big dump long time ago
From about $50 become $1.3 only Sad

Even BTC price from $12xx become $210
Bitcoin still used as currency unlike LTC

LTC's pump was insane. I wouldn't count out LTC just yet tho... when BTC goes 1k+ again.. do you really think that LTC isn't going to follow with a pump as well?

It might never happen again. That's why i agree with coblee, first priority is the success of Bitcoin. Without that no other Crypto will make it, but if Bitcoin goes mainstream than that's good for alts aswell. That's why i like developers of alts that also focus on getting people into Bitcoin, like Litecoin and GetGems devs.

This is GetGems dev words, we need more devs like these.

in the past it all used to be about the miners, what the miners supported would win, but thats all changing its getting more and more about the market, even a non mineable coin can survive.

truth be told the future will be even further from the miner, even the core dev will tell you themselves that POW was only ever designed to be a short term solution.

PoW, a short term solution? No, that's not what Satoshi envisioned. Why do you get such an odd idea?

then you wont like 20:59  Shocked in this video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIafZXRDH7w

so yeah not my idea.

This citation does not support your claim that POW was only ever designed to be short term.

In the video, Mike Hearn claims (and hopes) that one day, someone will come up with a better system.  He explain what he doesn't like about proof-of-work by observing that it is barely a rough approximation to "one person, one vote".

I find nothing objectionable here.  This is purely a statement about technological progress which promotes neither proof-of-stake nor indeed democracy.

i was replying to "Why do you get such an odd idea?" and gave a quote from just one example of a video i'd watched 10 min earlier to back up that even the core devs will backup that pow is not the future direction of bitcoin, and they have no idea what will replace it.

Here, it appears you are trying to change your claim to match the source rather than admit error.  I maintain that your original claim is not supported by the citation you provided.

With the remainder of your post (omitted), you shred your reputation for doing research.  You openly admit that your statements are routinely shot down and go on to try and shout away the concept of philosophic burden of proof.

Ignored.

sorry no error on my part, tis stating the obvious that POW was only a short term solution, anyone who has even only done half assessed research will know that.

in fact it would help my own arguments in this thread against bitcoin core devs to say "look they want bitcoin to move away from pow wow thats so against satoshi's original plans" now wouldn't it? but its the one point i'm defending the core devs on strangely enough.

i'm not going to find and link every satoshi statement to that effect just to defend my research too you. especially when thats defending the devs i'm not a fan of.

ignore away  Kiss
