Litecoin!

If bitcoin ever gets a new rally, watch litecoin closely. Litecoin will go higher in terms of folding.

Litecoin should enjoy a nice boost a lot sooner than BTC due to the upcoming halving.
Long term, obviously, BTC will always be ahead. But from a purely speculative standpoint- the next 4 months should show LTC with much higher gains.

oh well
apparently, its obviously the end time is near litecoin

It is fair to assume that Litecoin had more Volume for the past year than all other altcoins put together

Bitcoins volume for the past year is:       8,468,688,540
Litecoins volume for the past year is:        996,423,306
Ripple, Dash, Stellar, Maidsave, Dogecoin,
nxt, Bitshares and Monero together is:       739,943,271

the remaining low volume coins unlikely make a the difference
bitshare and stellar not a full years data and dogecoin is nowhere near its crazy spikes anymore

https://i.imgur.com/JZZtn0v.png

And the same with Bitcoin included
https://i.imgur.com/efAwGt0.png

Average of the year for the coins

trading vol from where though? not all trading in btc ltc is done via the well know exchanges. including off exchanges trading litecoin really swamps all other alts combined.
This is only data from cmc, does not include fee-less trading or off exchange trades.

Too bad Earthcoin didn't make it up there...I'd be a rich, rich man (instead of holding millions of worthless alts).

Don't worry, once Bitcoin takes off, we'll merge Litecoin into the brand anyway.  Wink

I doubt it but maybe we'll see. People just flocked to Litecoin before because they saw it as the second best opportunity to make money but I think most people are now aware of the lack of real world demand for litecoin and would rather just stick with the potential bitcoin promises instead. It's far safer.

I personally don't think litecoin has a big future at all.
Bitcoin is too well known for any altcoin to prosper.
It's bitcoin or nothing for cryptocurrency imo.

I think all the altcoins are destined to fail.
I see nothing in any of them that makes them likely to succeed where bitcoin hasn't.

Bitcoin hasn't succeeded yet on a large scale, I believe it will but all the altcoins will die along the way.
Well I think that if (when) Bitcoin succeeds, 2-3 other altcoins will somewhat succeed as well.
I don't think that Bitcoin will be the sole player, but I think it will be quite above them. However I do not believe that Litecoin will be one of those altcoins. If though it is the most recognized one, it really has no features that would make it take the second place in the future.

I'm an advocate of litecoin, as far as I'm concerned It's a pretty big ocean out there better we have an armada of ships sailing together in the same direction rather than all being on a single Bitcoin boat which to me sounds pretty cramped and an isolated target.

I think Bitcoin is great and don't want to see any litecoin success at the expense of it but having only one single blockchain out there is completely shortsighted. It's not viable to have thousands of competing CryptoCurrencies the altcoin bubble has burst but a small basket of complementary ones is completely reasonable.

In future if development of a coin isn't to your taste at least you can vote with your feet without have to head back to fiat, that cannot be said if you follow the 'only Bitcoin' mantra and is at least one good reason why Bitcoin holders should consider having a small investment in litecoin.

I don't see why LTC (or other alts) are needed and I think the market has realized that also. There's just next to no real world use for it or any reason someone should use it over bitcoin at the end of the day. I think it was always just the next best thing for those who missed out on adopting bitcoin early.

This argument should be over by now. The market has cast its vote.
Yes, the price of litecoin apparently can't follow the price of bitcoin anymore.

Well that is to be determined. Bitcoin has been pretty stagnant for the past year or so but if we saw another quick boom then Litecoin might rapidly follow along but for the most part I think people have realized that there's never going to be much demand for alts unless they genuinely offer something that bitcoin doesn't.

1) Being the original altcoin: Has higher status than the rest of alts

Well, the original altcoin after:
  • Namecoin
  • IxCoin
  • I0Coin
  • Solidcoin
  • GeistGeld
  • Tenebrix
  • Fairbrix
  • SolidCoin 2.0

So...  the 9th altcoin.

You could say: "one of the original altcoins".

yeah so many noobs here claim litecoins only number 2 because it was the first alt  Roll Eyes same noob also yell it was created to avoid asics  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes

but anyways it has even more cred having had to fight so many from the start to rise to number 2 Smiley and impressively held it ever since Smiley

I really don't know what to expect from LTC at this point. It just seems to wane more and more. I guess the best thing that could happen to LTC was an influx of new people into the cryptocurrency game, so they would get to know LTC, as well.

Which is the 95% of the global population who hasn't touched cryptocurrency at all, yet...so yeah. Pretty healthy chunk of people to try and attract as users.

Probably more likely to be 99.98%.

wow a record level of FUD on litecoin.....keep it up, I remember what happen last time litecoin was dead  Tongue

Of course, bitcoin is still the main choice for me, because bitcoin is more powerful and also very suitable for investment

How is is anymore "powerful" than Bitcoin these days? It's only "advantages", or differences, are the block times, reward times, PoW algorithm, and a few others. None of these things are such a great improvement over Bitcoin, that it would warrant us switching coins, otherwise we would have done so by now.
