I think ETH has much better potential than LTC personally, I think the demand for ETH hasnt been as high because ICO risk-taking hasnt been quite as present for a little while.
Not sure why though as there are many fantastic ones out there, a few i'm personally looking into are Daostack IO, Muirfield IP, and TIP Blockchain.

I don't know about 2016 as the price barely increased in 2016. But yeah currently we are in 2017 and ltc is being pumped so hard that it reached it's all time high price at 24$. And i'm sure this is not the end of the price increase the coin is going to be pumped more and we can expect maybe a 50$ price tag by july or maybe a 100$ by end of this year (if it survived).
Litecoin's all time high was $50 back in 2013.
That is easy to reach. But the price relative to the bitcoin is difficult.

I remember seeing litecoin worth 5 dollars and thought about buying it but then somehow forgot the idea. Now I hope it will somehow get down to at least $20 and then I'll buy some. Litecoin is a good currency and I believe in its future big success. Especially with segwit activated. That's really cool everything went okay and litecoin is now having some extra block which secures it from serious attacks.And if you think it is a good currency and you believe in its future big success, what makes you think that its price will come down to 20 USD which means loss of its current value around %33. You missed a very very good chance of buying when it was 5 USD may be you are missing another one now and then.

After the activation of segwit the price of litecoin came down and it was really unexpected as far as i am concerned as i have purchased a chuck of litecoin thinking that the price would keep moving after the activation as some the coins had a good rally after the activation and the price of litecoin just corrected after the activation.Litecoin is still good with current market price and volume, but to think it was good after all when all comes to it.
Litecoin does not have a block size problem, and SegWit is not just a block scaling solution. I would even say block scaling is just a side benefit of SegWit. The main fix is transaction malleability, which would allow Lightning Networks to be built on top of Litecoin. And there are a bunch more nice features of SegWit.

I am always happy to see old topics like this one, where someone was right when he made a prediction about an altcoin. This make me have faith in the bitcoiners.
It is quite surprising though considering that LTC hasn't had any major changes in recent times.That is because the Segwit is activated.

Now we can say that LTC holders can be happy finally coins is back on right track after quite some time.
I am guessing the key driver for LTC is the abundant of scrypt power available in China.
Where are those scrypt ASIC producers located at? Maybe they somewhat neglected investments into scrypt hashes due to stagnating LTC markets but they will for sure be capable of taking up faster than package delivery of fresh equipment reaches mining enthusiasts worldwide.The ASIC producers are located in China.
