At least they "want" to communicate and have some bounty open... Undecided
Mmm hmm.  I'll believe that when I start hearing some actual communication from them, which I don't believe has yet happened.

One thing I've learned by observing all sorts of scammers on this forum through the years is that they love stringing their victims along, giving them false hope and watching that hope dashed.  I can't say with 100% certainty that that's what's going on in this case, but Livecoin is starting to grow feathers, a beak, and is swimming like a duck if you know what I mean.  Shortly I think we can conclusively call them a duck unless they start trying to make things right with their customers.

Almost a month after this "alleged hacker" and jonly one statement was said and nothing more about this "Hacker". I lost a small amount, however, and a loss.

One more learning: "Exchange is not a wallet".

This temporary website doesn't have any service, they just report their status. They don't have online discussion channels (telegram, etc..) which are better and easier than a temporary website for information.

No I am saying the rewards outweigh the risks. I have been able to trade up from a 1k investment to having close to a 100k in two years. That is with having lost 4 exchange accounts along the way.

Hodl all you want and leave the trading to the rest of us.

Nonsense I made much more than 0.2 BTC by leaving my stuff on the exchanges. Just today I caught the Fun pump. Sold 100k fun coins and an hour later the 400% gain was gone. Just diversify a bit so you can afford the hacks..

Livecoin was by far my smallest account. But would still like the money back
You just lost 0.2BTC because you left coins on an exchange that's apparently in the process of pulling an exit scam.  Regardless of the luck you've had, are you seriously arguing that it's safe to keep coins on exchanges?  You're absolute proof that it isn't.

If the database is corrupted they can just ask us what we had there.. I had 0.2btc and would be happy to get it back.
That's what I've said a couple of times in my argument that this is a scam instead of a hack.  The fact that they're not attempting to contact their customers to make them whole is evidence of that--in addition to the fact that nothing about this supposed hack makes much sense, as pointed out by suchmoon and a couple other members.

This is the reason why you should never keep funds on an exchange, and if you didn't know that before, let this be an expensive 0.2BTC lesson that you learn.  I seriously doubt that anybody who had coins on Livecoin is going to get anything back, though I'm hoping for the best.

So basically, the "hacker(s)" blackmail Livecoin owners to deposit an amount into this address? And from where is this message? Can you please explain a bit? Undecided
I don't think anybody knows any more than what Livecoin has announced, which is jack shit.  If they were at all concerned about their customers, they'd create an alt account here and start communicating.  Obviously they're not doing that, which is another reason why I think this is nothing more than an exit scam.

Is there a chance to recover our funds?
I hope it will be possible.
Does anyone have any reliable information?
Looks like the databases of who earns what are now encrypted forever.

so this is basically the same as altilly. they say they lost all backups. difficult to believe.
and the same that happened to BTC-E / WEX with the manipulated exchange rates.

crap.

this is the problem with anonymous exchanges. Even if they got hacked for real they are not going to go to the police and make themselves public. they can be hold for ransom or worse.

Contacting some branch of law enforcement in China (or wherever Livecoin is/was located) is probably the only reasonable solution to recovering your funds, assuming Livecoin doesn't fix this themselves--and my gut is telling me that not only aren't they going to do that, but that they're responsible for this mess.  I think this is their exit scam.

Livecoin, along with some other "shady" exchanges are located in Russia, and from my experience (and others around here of course) any exchange there can do (literally) whatever they want. Police won't move a finger...

I saw at the end my balance to be a little less than 0.1BTC... Roll Eyes
F..f..f..f..uuuuuck!!!  I'm sorry to hear you got burned, bro.  I'm grateful that I just happened to get lucky, but chances are that had I made one more deposit I would be in the same boat (albeit with less money lost, since I never trusted Livecoin with anything more than like $40 at a time).

This sucks for everyone who got burned, don't get me wrong.  I feel badly for everyone who had money there, and I'm hoping at least some of it can be recovered somehow.

As I said those funds came out of playing/ trading with (mostly) DOGE and USDT. My assets there were near to $150 in total, and BTC hold the last place between them. Wink
So I can't say that I'm too butthurt from this blow but for sure I would love to see those earnings in my wallet. Unfortunately, even if I'm considered an optimistic person, I don't see how we will get any of our funds from there... Sad Angry

P.S: Ofc I don't get you wrong bro. Wink Cool

I don't think these petition will change anything. there were so many petitions in change org and none of them did anything for the victims.
Online petitions do absolutely nothing, and they've been around since the beginning of the internet.  That's the wrong route to go.

I hope you did not had big amount of coins in your live coin exchange wallet. because currently it's not possible to withdraw anything from them as the website is offline. and I don't think the exchange's owners will come up with anything or return users money. I am sure they will blame it to the scammers.

This is what I do. I drink and I know things.

I was going to start a thread about this, but since this one has been bumped it probably would be a waste of time.  One thing I wanted to hear about was from people who might have gotten funds stuck on Livecoin before they went dark.  I know they weren't exactly the most popular exchange out there, but I'm sure they did some business and had quite a few customers.

I'm one of them from yesterday since I have there some XFC's, DOGE, NMC, and some others. Didn't have much but after the prices go crazy and make an outrageous bull run (like DOGE @177 sats...) I start "trading" (more playing) and I saw at the end my balance to be a little less than 0.1BTC... Roll Eyes

Also (and since I was live atm), I saw this rally first hand and I can say with full certainty that not all prices and currencies were affected, the same goes for their matching wallets. BTC, ETH, LTC and USDT were on for deposit but you couldn't withdraw with the excuse of an "Update". The same goes for DOGE but without any info regarding the only deposit procedure available. So it seems that whoever does that "hacking", has a plan to hit the most major ones and fish any deposit that he can get from any client that was online.
