Trump didn't make any transaction with Bitcoin from the video I watched on FOX news. In fact he didn't look interested in it. He looked more interested in speaking to the "people at the other side" like he said after the dude in a face cap triumphantly announced that  Trump was the first presidential candidate to make such transaction thereby making history. For the record I am indifferent to whoever wins. I'll leave that for the Americans to decide. Right now smart electorates will look at the policies of the presidential aspirants and make cast their votes on whichever one they feel appeals more to them.
Donald Trump recent appearance on FOX News has sparked curiosity about his stance on Bitcoin. Despite remain recognized as first presidential candidate to make Bitcoin transaction Trump looks like unenthusiastic and more focused on connecting with his audience means he is making his vote bank only. This lack of interest raises questions about his genuine commitment to cryptocurrency and innovative financial technologies.
Means this is showing that Trump is only catching the trend and making it friend otherwise he has no knowledge about blockchain.

Funny how he knows bitcoin can generate a large population of supporters if only he could buy the mind of bitcoin enthusiasts. I still don’t know what most people will think about this but, definitely he’s doing this to gain more supporters from my view tho. I just love how they know the value of bitcoin even if they try to push bitcoin away there’s always something good at the end, this is a popular trick majority of candidates display for example, they go for what the masses want playing the favorite card.
I am not sure if he really fully understand how to use Bitcoin or other things but I guess he just want to attract more attention from Bitcoin user to support and vote for him. That should makes us Bitcoin user not to directly believe 100% of what he will do because we need to wait for what he will do after he make that moment. I think he is better to retired from anything he did and enjoy his wealth that he got before while he can enjoy his old age with his family and forget about the will to be the president. That will better for him and his family because people will know that he is not ambition to elected. But we can not say like that because he still want to have more power to run his plan which no other knows for sure.

Trump’s Bitcoin Transaction Makes History at NYC Crypto Bar – Will This Sway Voters?

I put it in quotation marks because he doesn't make it, it has to be made for him. Although it may have significant symbolism, a former US president and presidential candidate using bitcoin to buy some hamburgers, which he then handed out.

He is clearly trying to win the vote of bitcoiners but he could learn a bit more about it by now.

Obviously this is the case. He wants the votes, and I doubt anyone actually believes his enthusiasm for Bitcoin is anything but a PR show that he thought up. But as long as it makes Bitcoin better known and more popular, that is fine with me. He is spreading the word of Bitcoin, whether he himself believes in it or not.

Trump must be getting too desperate, specially after the debate with that other candidate that cost him a lot of votes and even more when he refused for a second debate that cost him even more votes Cheesy
To be honest, I haven't watched the debate. I wanted to watch but I don't have a big desire, especially when I saw the highlights. As far as I know, he did a bad job in this debate while Kamala did more research and was more ready but I don't like her. By the way, his excuse for a second debate was that what happens when fighter loses? The fighter wants a rematch, it's not the winner who wants the rematch. So, according to Trump's logic, he did well, Kamala Harris lost and now she wants a rematch and Trump and his team will think about it. Trump is very narcissist, it's too much for an old man.
I think the polls are showing easily that Kamala won because she is leading the polls right now and she is leading in battleground states as well so we should be considering that as a normal thing because she won and that is why she is leading. Trump can't go out and say "I lost the first debate and I am scared to do another one because losing two debates in a row would make me look weak", so of course he is going to say something that will make him look better, that is why he said that he won, what were you expecting him to say, that he lost? Of course that this isn't really that important because what he thinks doesn't matter, what voters think about the situation matters.

Like you, there are others who do not care Trump lost the debate and they still support trump, and there are many trump voters who will go out to vote for him, debate doesn't make everyone stay at home, some people will end up thinking that they have a candidate in mind and that's it for them.

Yeah this is the first Donald Trump's aide uses Bitcoin to buy a burger at a bar in New York.

As we can see Trump didn't even able to use phone and scan QR code using Bitcoin wallet, he really know what Bitcoin is!

Too bad the aide didn't get any spotlight even though he was struggle to pay using Bitcoin, I don't even know who's him after made some research.
It was Trump who authorized his aides to do the transactions on his behalf, so it was him. Aides can act for government officials if they get approval. Most of the actions most presidents take and done by members of staff.
It was him who asked his aids to help him complete the transaction because he didn't know how to handle it. It's pretty clear and obvious, so the question now is: how is he campaigning to support something he doesn't even know its use?

This is just the life of a typical average politician; they tend to use the information of what they think the people's need to gather votes for themselves without truly understanding what it is.

First Bitcoin transaction only in 2024? He is aware of Bitcoin since ran for presidency for the first time, at least. Why transacting with Bitcoin only now? Maybe Bitcoin didn't have the same potential of gathering votes back then compared to its current potential?

It's nothing more than demagogy. Just like the politicians who take photos with poors, children and disabled people during the elections. What really matters is what is the approach of the politicians regards the matter during the government. Before everything is perfect and beautiful, what comes next is what people should be concerned about.

#SWGT PRE-SALE IS LIVE
Politicians are movie actors. They take any acting role to get the support they need. Trump was criticised for not owning or using the currency he is promoting. Maybe this was why he had to do a public display of his first use of Bitcoin.
This is what I also think. They can do anything they want to get sympathy and support from the audience. Even they will do something that they deny before just to get benefit from what they do. The audience should be smart to act and can know what they should choose. If Trump want to get support, he needs to do a lot because making a first transaction in Bitcoin doesn't mean audience will really know what Trump did. Maybe that can affect to the market but we don't know for sure. But thanks to Trump because he know the "name" of Bitcoin because of that Grin

Nice attempt, but not really something that could sway voters easily. At the least, his willingness to try it out and plans to make the crypto space sonehow easier to get into is something that is not seen in previous presidential candidates. If he lays out his plans to improve the crypto space that I know is feasible and attainable, I might just support the guy albeit his rambunctious antics in the world stage from time to time.

If this guy wins the election, it's good for bitcoin. Then again, it's not the only thing he should care about as there are other pressing issues that needed attention, so voters should still be wize about it.

My post made philipma1957 wear signature
Whether Trump eventually emerges as president or not, this action taken by him will create a global awareness about bitcoin which will inspire lots of people who are still in doubt to explore Bitcoin the more. This will be possible because of the influence Trump has, not just on the Americans, but the world at large. This will boost confidence in the minds of bitcoiners and prospective investors who are scared of giving it a trial.

I never believed in Trump and his sudden support for bitcoin,  but here's me having a change of perception towards him. This is a great effort put in place to prove his support to the bitcoin community. People may tag him 'desperate' but I see a new level of confidence in the minds of the people.

Trump must be getting too desperate, specially after the debate with that other candidate that cost him a lot of votes and even more when he refused for a second debate that cost him even more votes Cheesy

He is now basically bribing people to vote for it.

In any case, this is a positive news for bitcoin even if it doesn't change anything for this silly candidate who doesn't even know how to use bitcoin and has to have someone handle the phone even... This is basically free advertisement for Bitcoin and it reaches a lot of people introducing bitcoin to them as a currency that they can easily use.

Well, people in power would have someone to handle each task they need, so it's not surprising that someone else is handling the phone and making the transaction on his behalf. Even though I don't believe that he is supporting Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies because he loves the technology or has realized it is a great innovation, I would agree with you that this is at least going to be a positive thing for Bitcoin in the sense that there will be more awareness around the world about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies because US presidential elections are covered and watched all around the world, I believe.

So whether we support him or not, and whether he is doing this for Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies or only for votes, this is going to promote Bitcoin to the masses that either support him or watch him for fun or to stay updated, and that is all we care about.

I saw the video after this post. So it's pretty sure he has been trying to gain trust from Bitcoin users in the US. But quite surprised he doesn't know how to make payment where we can see someone else helping him to confirm the payment. Most probably he just loves Bitcoin and is not much aware of technical issues. However, still, it's good to see a former and presidential candidate using Bitcoin to make payments. So we can expect that if he wins, he will likely support Bitcoin adaptation. I am not sure if we can see any significant movements though, but still, I wish Trump would win and support Bitcoin.

Farewell, Leo
Lol, he's using everything in his disposal at this point. He probably thinks wtf he's doing at that moment, but yeah, more people get to hear about Bitcoin being used as a currency.

You've got to respect his urge to earn Bitcoiners' votes. He clearly earned them. I don't have the evidence, but if I had to guess, the overwhelming majority of Bitcoiners lean to the right, and would immediately sell their souls to a "pro-Bitcoin" politician, if that'd pump their bags. Which is yet another argument on why following majority is a bad decision!

The most important thing in all of this is that bitcoiners are becoming an important group. Not some weirdos libertarians trying to promote their own currency but a group worth fighting for, worth pleasing.

I highly agree, forget about politicians, forget about politics, this act whether Trump is sincere or not gives news that there is this cryptocurrency called Bitcoin and there is dedicated group behind called "Bitcoiners" or "Bitcoin enthusiasts" and they are now being mentioned in tri-media directly or indirectly.  This gives importance that Bitcoin is a real thing not just some Tulip bubbles or what.

Yea and worth joining!

Its definitely news worthy and goes to show that his statements before about
Bitcoin were serious. and puts Bitcoin in the spotlight again!

Ok he had to get someone to do it for him but yea I guess thats how the super
rich operate, they get others to do stuff for them. Just like those who would prefer
to own a spot ETF rather than Bitcoin itself.

We can say that it’s symbolic enough.

Politics aside, I am glad he showcased the usage of bitcoin for something as mundane as buying hamburgers. It showed that bitcoin is safe and you can use it in your daily life. I don’t know if this effectively sways voters however this sends a message to Americans about bitcoin.

Whether or not he has genuine interest in bitcoin, the exposure bitcoin is getting from his campaign is a good thing.

History is being written before our eyes. This can be a way to win some votes, a complete lie to fool people into thinking he's about freedom of transaction and all that, but that's not the important part. What's significant is that he could talk about so many other topics. He could argue about abortion rights, guns, the support for Israel or Ukraine, NATO, but he dedicates his time to talk about decentralized money.

This is surprising, Trump had been advocating that he supports (if that what it meant) Bitcoin for a year maybe if not for months, and this news just simply tells that Trump makes his first Bitcoin transaction.  What a laugh, aren't they manipulating people into believing that Trump really is into Bitcoin even if the possible truth he is not?

If he is really into Bitcoin, he could have made his first transaction months or years ago.  I say, guys don't get manipulated.  Though I really hope Trump is sincere on his stance of being pro with Bitcoins. But the cynics in me say this is all politics.

Nothing surprising aside from the fact that IT WASN'T HIM WHO MADE IT but his guard? His aide? His right bodyguard? Whoever he is, he must be the one to take the credits and not Trump.

Well, it seems like he's getting the support that he wants from those who're involved into Bitcoin and this move is a proof that he will support Bitcoin once he wins on the election... or is he? Because we know that politicians are also SELF-MADE ACTORS as well. There's nothing more lame than using something like Bitcoin just to increase his popularity, but it is what it is and this is the reason why I'm hesitant to vote as well in our elections more than a year from now.

We can say negative things to what Trump is doing right now, but it works... I guess, and he doesn't care about our criticisms, comments or whatever. What matters to him is to win and he will do everything.  Undecided

keep walking, Johnnie
Everyone was waiting for the moment when it would be possible to pay for coffee with bitcoin, but they missed the moment of buying a burger with bitcoin by the past and probably future US president. Smiley By the way, was this BTC-transaction published anywhere as "having historical value"?

What was that? Undoubtedly, a PR campaign and this step doesn't mean (doesn't guarantee) the use of bitcoin as an official means of payment in the future, that is, a loyal attitude by the presidential administration. For me, this looks like a show that should not be taken in.
