I like that he is putting some efforts into it. He got someone to tell him more about Bitcoin and how he can actually make use of technology in a day to day life.
In one of his rallies recent days, he said that his children, grandchildren shown him how to make a Bitcoin, cryptocurrency transaction. I believe that if he wanted to learn, he already learned about it with support from his family members.

It's certainly that the elderly have more difficulties of learning new things but if they want, they can do their learning. Trump can do the same and that Bitcoin transaction can be done by his own efforts or with help from other people but if he already witnessed how to make a Bitcoin transaction for purchasing a thing, that's good than don't do anything.

He chose right time to do it for getting more support from Americans when the Election day is not too far.

It is funny, but since he is a personality, some things are really just made ready for him, and go with it. Showing that he tried it is somewhat a win for crypto since it will be exposed and seen by people who might not be exposed to it. At least it's something. I always remember that he wasn't open to the cryptocurrency space before and have made some comments. It's never too late I guess.

Bitcoin Bottom was at $15.4k
I like that he is putting some efforts into it. He got someone to tell him more about Bitcoin and how he can actually make use of technology in a day to day life. With this, many boomers who were not aware of how Bitcoin is different than Gold, will be able to understand that you can use Bitcoin for quick payments as well. This might be funny for you all who are already using Bitcoin from ages but it's interesting for the older generation.

Lightning network is good with small amount of BTC
Trump didn't make any transaction with Bitcoin from the video I watched on FOX news. In fact he didn't look interested in it. He looked more interested in speaking to the "people at the other side" like he said after the dude in a face cap triumphantly announced that  Trump was the first presidential candidate to make such transaction thereby making history. For the record I am indifferent to whoever wins. I'll leave that for the Americans to decide. Right now smart electorates will look at the policies of the presidential aspirants and make cast their votes on whichever one they feel appeals more to them.
Trump actually paid for the hamburger with bitcoin. But what I noticed in the video is that he did not really know how to make the transaction but get help to make the transaction.

This is the videos: https://youtube.com/shorts/KgVmMrUvOYA?si=Jm9SYOPG6taDXa0S

Also I do not care about who wins, American vote will decide who wins.

He is clearly trying to win the vote of bitcoiners but he could learn a bit more about it by now.

Everything he or Harris does in their campaign has no other purpose than to win more votes. Why do we only target and criticize him?

Yes, he is doing this for more votes and those who are supporting him are doing it for their own benefit. Likewise, those who vote for Harris expect to benefit from her policies.

And as you said: he can also learn and gain a little more knowledge about bitcoin, which is actually beneficial for both him and bitcoin since it has caught the attention of a presidential candidate. Meanwhile, Harris continues to ignore everything about bitcoin and as a bitcoin investor that makes me even more worried if she wins.

Given what is going on, it is clear that Trump will bring more good than Harris when it comes to crypto.

I guess phrase "Better late than never" applies in this case. While i agree that it's his attempt to get more votes, at least it lets general public know that Bitcoin can used to pay goods and services.

"Trump using Bitcoin to buy hamburgers feels like a marketing stunt, right? While the symbolism is interesting, it's clear that he's trying to connect with Bitcoiners. But let's be real, it's not Trump who's doing the heavy lifting on the transaction. It makes for good headlines but maybe not the most authentic connection to the crypto community!"

Basically, Trump is the first US president to make a successful bitcoin payment, yet it'll be appalling if bitcoiners are forcing the whole process down his throat. From your response, the president may just be doing all this because he wants the community to vote for him. I'm 90% sure he wouldn't do all that when he climbs to the throne as president of America. For now, he's like any other investor showing out his excitement for bitcoin, could it be that the memory he's creating with bitcoiners would make impact to his behavior as a leader of America, we may not have been hearing him talk repeatedly about weapons and security in America.

Trump's Agenda is to make America great again, he rarely talks about bitcoin in his campaigns. The last time I watched him speak, it was all revolving around war, nuclear weapon, military, etc. However, should bitcoin be on his agenda, it's the least of what he's thinking about.

Politicians are movie actors. They take any acting role to get the support they need. Trump was criticised for not owning or using the currency he is promoting. Maybe this was why he had to do a public display of his first use of Bitcoin.
This is what I also think. They can do anything they want to get sympathy and support from the audience. Even they will do something that they deny before just to get benefit from what they do. The audience should be smart to act and can know what they should choose. If Trump want to get support, he needs to do a lot because making a first transaction in Bitcoin doesn't mean audience will really know what Trump did. Maybe that can affect to the market but we don't know for sure. But thanks to Trump because he know the "name" of Bitcoin because of that Grin

Trump must be getting too desperate, specially after the debate with that other candidate that cost him a lot of votes and even more when he refused for a second debate that cost him even more votes Cheesy
To be honest, I haven't watched the debate. I wanted to watch but I don't have a big desire, especially when I saw the highlights. As far as I know, he did a bad job in this debate while Kamala did more research and was more ready but I don't like her. By the way, his excuse for a second debate was that what happens when fighter loses? The fighter wants a rematch, it's not the winner who wants the rematch. So, according to Trump's logic, he did well, Kamala Harris lost and now she wants a rematch and Trump and his team will think about it. Trump is very narcissist, it's too much for an old man.

In any case, this is a positive news for bitcoin even if it doesn't change anything for this silly candidate who doesn't even know how to use bitcoin and has to have someone handle the phone even... This is basically free advertisement for Bitcoin and it reaches a lot of people introducing bitcoin to them as a currency that they can easily use.
If you think that Trump is silly, please watch this: Kamala Harris Explaining The Cloud Storage
By the way, yes, it's a free advertisement of Bitcoin and that's positive for us.

I can barely see Trump's face in this picture. This angle is ridiculous.

Also, didn't know you could buy hamburgers at a bar. That's pretty cool.

Did you see his new "crypto venture"?  World Liberty Financial, which is just a DeFi exchange.  I dunnno about you Poker Player, but every DeFI token/coing whatever the heck they call them, I've ever seen, has been very "scammy".

I can really only see Uniswap and other DEXes shitting their pants over this. It doesn't have any concern for other crypto companies at all. But having said that, DeFi exchanges (when marketed sufficiently) are money printers for their operators.

In a few days, I will expecting Kamala Harris to act her own script too Grin Her campaign team will not rest, they will most likely be wanting to make their own transaction with bitcoins. Bitcoin is in the middle of all this drama, and will benefit from it, more people are knowing about it. After all this drama, it will not be strange or surprising to see either of the candidates begin to change their opinions on bitcoins when they get the votes they need that secures them the presidential position.

Trump’s Bitcoin Transaction Makes History at NYC Crypto Bar – Will This Sway Voters?

I put it in quotation marks because he doesn't make it, it has to be made for him. Although it may have significant symbolism, a former US president and presidential candidate using bitcoin to buy some hamburgers, which he then handed out.

He is clearly trying to win the vote of bitcoiners but he could learn a bit more about it by now.

Did you see his new "crypto venture"?  World Liberty Financial, which is just a DeFi exchange.  I dunnno about you Poker Player, but every DeFI token/coing whatever the heck they call them, I've ever seen, has been very "scammy".

But you're right.  It's extremely evident that Trump has absolutely no real clue what bitcoin or cryptocurrency really is.  I would LOVE it if someone came out and asked him if he could just describe bitcoin in a few sentences.  It'd probably be a similar answer to what he gave when asked to name his favorite bible verse/testament lulz  (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERUngQUCsyE)

Never seen this one, it's a golden vid Grin
And I do agree - it's done purely for the votes and for the hype around it, unfortunately.
Some may blast their lungs out about Trump being a crypto savior, but the reality is much bleaker than that.

Donald Trump has used Bitcoin to buy hamburgers at a Bitcoin bar and restaurant, which is popular in accepting Bitcoin at pubkey in New York City, hosted the former US President and 2024 Republican nominee for a campaign stop on Sept. 18. This act has now made him the first ex-US president to use cryptocurrency in a transaction .

Yeah this is the first Donald Trump's aide uses Bitcoin to buy a burger at a bar in New York.

As we can see Trump didn't even able to use phone and scan QR code using Bitcoin wallet, he really know what Bitcoin is!

Too bad the aide didn't get any spotlight even though he was struggle to pay using Bitcoin, I don't even know who's him after made some research.
It was Trump who authorized his aides to do the transactions on his behalf, so it was him. Aides can act for government officials if they get approval. Most of the actions most presidents take and done by members of staff.

One small step for Donald, one yuuge step for mankind.

Soon enough he will be debating against big blockers, supporting decentralization too. We all used to be newbies once.

The next US administration will be tha bomb once he gets elected.

Elon will take us to the moon with his ships and Donald will take bitcoin to the moon with his support for crypto.

We will really go to the moon this time and it won’t be a Hollywood production.
