Farewell, Leo
Lol, he's using everything in his disposal at this point. He probably thinks wtf he's doing at that moment, but yeah, more people get to hear about Bitcoin being used as a currency.

You've got to respect his urge to earn Bitcoiners' votes. He clearly earned them. I don't have the evidence, but if I had to guess, the overwhelming majority of Bitcoiners lean to the right, and would immediately sell their souls to a "pro-Bitcoin" politician, if that'd pump their bags. Which is yet another argument on why following majority is a bad decision!

The most important thing in all of this is that bitcoiners are becoming an important group. Not some weirdos libertarians trying to promote their own currency but a group worth fighting for, worth pleasing.

I highly agree, forget about politicians, forget about politics, this act whether Trump is sincere or not gives news that there is this cryptocurrency called Bitcoin and there is dedicated group behind called "Bitcoiners" or "Bitcoin enthusiasts" and they are now being mentioned in tri-media directly or indirectly.  This gives importance that Bitcoin is a real thing not just some Tulip bubbles or what.

Yea and worth joining!

Its definitely news worthy and goes to show that his statements before about
Bitcoin were serious. and puts Bitcoin in the spotlight again!

Ok he had to get someone to do it for him but yea I guess thats how the super
rich operate, they get others to do stuff for them. Just like those who would prefer
to own a spot ETF rather than Bitcoin itself.

I put it in quotation marks because he doesn't make it, it has to be made for him. Although it may have significant symbolism, a former US president and presidential candidate using bitcoin to buy some hamburgers, which he then handed out.
We can say that it’s symbolic enough.

Politics aside, I am glad he showcased the usage of bitcoin for something as mundane as buying hamburgers. It showed that bitcoin is safe and you can use it in your daily life. I don’t know if this effectively sways voters however this sends a message to Americans about bitcoin.

Whether or not he has genuine interest in bitcoin, the exposure bitcoin is getting from his campaign is a good thing.

History is being written before our eyes. This can be a way to win some votes, a complete lie to fool people into thinking he's about freedom of transaction and all that, but that's not the important part. What's significant is that he could talk about so many other topics. He could argue about abortion rights, guns, the support for Israel or Ukraine, NATO, but he dedicates his time to talk about decentralized money.

Trump’s Bitcoin Transaction Makes History at NYC Crypto Bar – Will This Sway Voters?

I put it in quotation marks because he doesn't make it, it has to be made for him. Although it may have significant symbolism, a former US president and presidential candidate using bitcoin to buy some hamburgers, which he then handed out.

He is clearly trying to win the vote of bitcoiners but he could learn a bit more about it by now.

This is surprising, Trump had been advocating that he supports (if that what it meant) Bitcoin for a year maybe if not for months, and this news just simply tells that Trump makes his first Bitcoin transaction.  What a laugh, aren't they manipulating people into believing that Trump really is into Bitcoin even if the possible truth he is not?

If he is really into Bitcoin, he could have made his first transaction months or years ago.  I say, guys don't get manipulated.  Though I really hope Trump is sincere on his stance of being pro with Bitcoins. But the cynics in me say this is all politics.

Nothing surprising aside from the fact that IT WASN'T HIM WHO MADE IT but his guard? His aide? His right bodyguard? Whoever he is, he must be the one to take the credits and not Trump.

Well, it seems like he's getting the support that he wants from those who're involved into Bitcoin and this move is a proof that he will support Bitcoin once he wins on the election... or is he? Because we know that politicians are also SELF-MADE ACTORS as well. There's nothing more lame than using something like Bitcoin just to increase his popularity, but it is what it is and this is the reason why I'm hesitant to vote as well in our elections more than a year from now.

We can say negative things to what Trump is doing right now, but it works... I guess, and he doesn't care about our criticisms, comments or whatever. What matters to him is to win and he will do everything.  Undecided

Everyone was waiting for the moment when it would be possible to pay for coffee with bitcoin, but they missed the moment of buying a burger with bitcoin by the past and probably future US president. Smiley By the way, was this BTC-transaction published anywhere as "having historical value"?

What was that? Undoubtedly, a PR campaign and this step doesn't mean (doesn't guarantee) the use of bitcoin as an official means of payment in the future, that is, a loyal attitude by the presidential administration. For me, this looks like a show that should not be taken in.

I really don't know why but I think that Trump is not interested in Bitcoin and this is all just a show for more "votes". Of course, this news can have a good effect on the crypto and bitcoin market, but in my opinion, this is just a marketing and Trump knows that the new generation will form a large part of the "voters" and the new generation loves bitcoin.

Politicians can do anything to win voters or electorates minds. In election period they even eat with the poor on the street restaurants. But after the election and when they have gotten the support from the electorates and won the election they would turn their back on them and suffer them with obnoxious policies.

When I saw the news that Donald Trump bought Burger with bitcoin in his hangout with the help of pubkey staff.  But now that he has used bitcoin to confirm the legit of bitcoin then he will support bitcoin when he has finally won the election. And many bitcoin companies that have died would resurrect again.

He is winning the Bitcoin supporters. I believe that.

From Day 1, I know he will use Bitcoin as one of his means to win the presidency and I think he is doing it right. I can say his PR is good because the crypto space is growing so large by now and many celebrities and popular people could agree with him and their supporters will also be dragged by what they believe and so he will get more voters for him.

I repeated that video for like 100 times trying to understand how it happened. I can just say he is now getting the heart of Bitcoin supporters.

Does anyone know which Bitcoin wallet Trump used in this video? I can't see the screen well and couldn't find any information about it. I also wonder who controls his Bitcoin wallet. We have a basic rule here - not your keys, not your coins. I believe that Trump has no idea what is a key and seed phrase, someone should have access on his wallet and that's the funniest thing  Grin

I don't have a subscription to this publication, but Russian news reports cite it, saying that Trump used the Strike app, which is built on the Lightning Network. The bar itself accepts payments using the Zaprite app.

Is Donald Trump playing the bitcoin pizza kind of game to mark a symbolic cheft in the direction of things, just as being the first US presidents to spend the lowest amount of bitcoin in paying for goods, this also symbolise how bitcoin could be use for even the smallest amount of transactions.

Also the ability to spend bitcoin totally free from all the centralised laws unless if the transaction is carried out from a centralised payment gateway such as excahges or payment gateway that offers financial services.

All right, good, i hope he will be making more purchases using BTC when or if he becomes the president of the U.S., he is clearly trying to win most of the votes of the crypto community in the U.S., and i think he has done so, in any case, this is good publicity for BTC. Next up, maybe Kamala should spend BTC on some doughnuts, and maybe she will try to go one better and do it herself.

Lol I thought he might have some sense of how to use a BTC wallet and how to make a transaction at least, but he is taking help from staff to do that make me wonder if he really mean the statements that he made for BTC development and overall for crypto development. He literally has no idea how things are working in the BTC network. I think we should ask him some questions like those who can should ask him some questions about BTC so we could at least know he has some knowledge of crypto and he is not just bluffing everything and doing everything by taking help and advice from others.

I know how things work with these dudes (political) because they can't learn to fire a gun, but as leaders, they will be making law for it, modifying it, standing for one law and standing against for another even if they have no experience of the thing in question. But still he is the first candidate so it makes a history that Bitcoiners will remember.

For a person who doesn't  live in America, I don't pay much attention to the presidential election there, but I think it's the same with other countries. Candidates do stunt and gimmick to attract voter. And in this specific thing, I have a question, is it good or bad if the candidate use crypto for their campaign?

When crypto community getting political attention doesn't it mean that it's getting popular, and maybe we could expect some good policy from the candidate when they got elected, and this will lead to more market value and adoption?

Or will it just stop in their campaign? like nothing will change after they got elected, whey won't even talk about Bitcoin or crypto.

Staying neutral about the election will help you avoid unnecessary controversy, you are great. But I disagree when you say that having a pro-crypto presidential candidate won't make it more popular. If you are a celebrity, someone with a large fan base, you will see how much influence you have over them. Trump is not only a billionaire but also a former president and a candidate this year, so his influence will not be small. Don't underestimate a celebrity speaking out in favor of cryptocurrency.

But I agree with you that we still don't know what they will do after they are elected, whether they will keep their promises or will forget all the promises they made. Everything remains in question because the future is unpredictable . I don't know about you, but if I get a chance, even a small one, I'm ready to seize it and not let it go. So I support him and hope he will bring positive things to the crypto industry .

I guess phrase "Better late than never" applies in this case. While i agree that it's his attempt to get more votes, at least it lets general public know that Bitcoin can used to pay goods and services.

I guess he is on the right course especially when QueMala is doing everything to drive voters away from herself.  Cool

Oh no Trump is again trying to get the Bitcoiner votes omg why does he do that? OMg omg omg

It is hilarious. I watched the video, it's not Trump who made his first Bitcoin transaction, it's someone else who made it for him. You can understand by the look that Trump has no idea what's happening around him, he is just doing what his advisor suggested him to do and looks happy. You can tell that he, like Kamala Harris, is a puppet, managed by other people.

Does anyone know which Bitcoin wallet Trump used in this video? I can't see the screen well and couldn't find any information about it. I also wonder who controls his Bitcoin wallet. I like that he is putting some efforts into it. He got someone to tell him more about Bitcoin and how he can actually make use of technology in a day to day life.
In one of his rallies recent days, he said that his children, grandchildren shown him how to make a Bitcoin, cryptocurrency transaction. I believe that if he wanted to learn, he already learned about it with support from his family members.

Trump is very old, and old people most of the times DO NOT understand new technology, and let alone that, Trump can't even hold an object properly without shaking anymore. So it makes sense that people have to help him out and show him how to do this or that.

I'm guessing the whole Bitcoin stunt was suggested by the PubKey bar staff though, not from Trump himself.
