I agree that with the fluctuations of btc market then short-term investment is more reasonable and as you say, it is also more risky. But I believe that long-term investment is still a good profit for us. If compared to the previous time, btc prices have increased a lot and that is the opportunity for investment ,both long-term and short-term.

you think like a desperate person,. the value of bitcoin will never be unstoppable,., bitcoin value will keep rising as usage and mining are depleted.,. but it is only a reliable altcoin in short-term trading., because if we rely on bitcoin we must have at least 1 btc to do short-term trading..

There is no way that we can deny the importance of bitcoin as way of investing for the long term. In fact, bitcoin is the m;st preferable coin in the world of crypto currency if you want to go for long term investment. You can never ever think of this thing that bitcoin is no longer used by the investors for long term investment. If we look at the graph of market price of bitcoin, then we’ll come to know that it is the best option for long term investment.

Bitcoin: yes.
Alts: no. I don't hodl alts more than 1 month. New alts on the market every day. There are always some alts better than others. If I don't see an alt that is good to invest I'll hold bitcoin and wait for the right moment to join.

I don't chase the market price. I learned many lessons on this market. Hold bitcoin is my top 1 priority.

I just start learn... Good Example from u, i will control to be not greedy~ Thanks

I don't think this is true, there are many great alt-coins still that are growing more than bitcoin!

Yeah there are some good altcoin are available in the market but investing them on long term is not gonna give that much profit because the growth rate of any alts is very very less when compared to bitcoin.Bitcoin growth rate is very high it reaches $ 6000 mark in last days it is becoming more and more popular and stable. It attracts more people towards bitcoin to make them invest on it which makes more demand on bitcoins which still increases the price.

Price fluctuation of bitcoin has been a part of Trading for a long time now, so this kind of statements are nothing new but i understand where you're coming from.

I always believed that altcoins were not meant to be a long term invesment, especially if you compare them with bitcoin. It is true that some altcoins are becoming worthless to hold as each day the btc price rises, but as long as bitcoin exists there's going to be a space for an old altcoin or a new altcoin to grow and keep its value.
I'm pretty sure that for some people it's not that long term investment of bitcoin in alts is no longer exists, it's just becoming more and more difficult.

Sooner or later the moneys flowing back to alts
That sooner would be like one century and later would be like thousand centuries. Do not get me wrong and I am not mocking you or criticizing you, but let’s just put the facts at the top of our personal likings. I am not saying that altcoins are not worthy of anything or can't grow.

Bitcoin is the first digital currency, people trust it more, it has the scarce supply and above all it is the benchmark for all other crypto coins. Nothing can replace this coin.

We only see a growing number of altcoins, however it will not imply that BTC long term investing is not profitable in any way.

I believe that bitcoin will always be a good investment in a long-run, perhaps a constant trading of certain coins will make the altcoins stable as of today.

AFAIK No one is going to Hodl an altcoin. just an opinion.

With bitcoin value increasing to new heights every day or week, is long term investment of bitcoin in alts no more? Because with the increase of value in bitcoin, all alts suffer and their value in bitcoin decreases even if they are stable enough to keep their value in dollar sustained.

So all one can earn from such long term trade is a loss in bitcoin.

So, is short term trading alts the only option or even that is too risky for now and holding could be the only option.

And for buying alts, one should use dollar instead of bitcoin.

in my opinion, doing long term investment in altcoin can be work if we choose the right altcoin and we know about the project will be rise in future. I know that with increasing of bitcoin price, altcoin is suffer and can not increase at all but in some day after bitcoin price can reach the stable price even if its just for short time, altcoin will reach the position back and in that time, I think our investment will give the profit to us. short term trading will be another option to still get the profit but like I said before, we need to choose the right coins.

The presence of so many alts and tokes are actually ruining the crypto currency market. The amount of investment bitcoin should have received, is getting divided due to the presence of so many alts. So bitcoin is not growing as desired. However, the point you raised is completely valid. With increase bitcoin value, the alts are getting devalued compared to bitcoin but not compared to USD. So it is better to use alt/usd pair for trading instead of bitcoin. But I truly think that so many alts are not worth having in anyone's portfolio. There are only few alts which are actually good and technologically superior than bitcoin. But other alts are mostly worthless.
In the presence of alts bitcoin investment is getting low and bitcoin has more potential than other coins out there . But still many people invest in alts as they think one day it will overcome bitcoin. But is is very difficult for alts to rise as its price is also affected due to prices of bitcoin if bitcoins prices are lowered than alt-coins will also face a same problem and all other coins as bitcoin has become a center coin for exchange for most f the alts and other coin. Most of the people buy coin by using bitcoin and this to helps it.

Yes i agree with you to some extent, that altcoin long term investment is a not good idea for now, because the bitcoin value is increasing day by day and because of this many altcoin's value have been decreased. you can buy the alt with usd rather than bitcoin. Actually there are many altcoin being introduced out of which only few of them are doing good with their technology other are just worthless and due to this bitcoin is gaining high value than the other altcoins value, which is affecting the long term investment.

Yes, trading of cryptocurrency is a vice versa situation and to avoid the risk of loosing your investment short term trading/investment of altcoin and a promising ICO is the best while long term investment of bitcoin is also the best. But you can do some short term trade when the price surge aswell for another chance of quick buy when there's dip.

Altcoins were never considered as a long term investment by cryptocurrency traders because they rely over bitcoin. Sensible traders always shift their investment from altcoins to bitcoin whenever they feel a rise in price is about to happen, so the altcoins suffer a huge downfall.
Although long term trading of bitcoin is always preferred over short term trading but in case of altcoins it is better to do short term trading, because altcoins are highly volatile and you never know when it will going to dump.

Well, the rise in value of Bitcoin really affects these Altcoins but what can Bitcoin do?

A true Crypto shouldn't depend on any other Cryptocurrency for survival.

The nice thing about this Market is that no Central authority can manipulate things to favor a particular coin. Everycoin gets the value it deserves.

Probably better idea would be to invest in bitcoin and hold it instead of buying altcoins and watching them decreasing in value - but i could be wrong, don't take this as advice.
So, is short term trading alts the only option or even that is too risky for now and holding could be the only option.
In my opinion yes, but you can do short term trading with bitcoin too, also i don't see holding altcoins for long term as option.
And for buying alts, one should use dollar instead of bitcoin.
Irrelevant. If you have 1000$ there is no difference in buying altcoins directly with them or first buying bitcoin worth 1000$ and then buying altcoins with bitcoin. It is like exchanging dollars to euros to pounds - or just exchanging dollars to pounds. Also if you think buying altcoins with bitcoin is waste of bitcoin/too risky/any other reason - there you go, you answered your question.

From your point my friend it sounds that long term holders are losing hope about their holdings, but think about these, those high potential coins will remain no matter what happens, and its because bitcoin is increasing of course the time will also come that those alternate coins will rise and pump up so just sit back ang relax.

This , you are talking about the disadvantages of ALTs because of the progress of Bitcoin. The title says something else. As soon as I read the title I had a whole lot of things to say against the topic. But now since you are talking about ALTs , then your right. And buying ALTs with dollars is obviously much Profitable then buying it with Bitcoin.
