Of course you can still grow your bitcoin by investing your bitcoin in to alt-coins, there are many alt-coins that have grown by more than bitcoin has in the past year or more and that is evidence that there is still plenty of opportunity.

With bitcoin value increasing to new heights every day or week, is long term investment of bitcoin in alts no more? Because with the increase of value in bitcoin, all alts suffer and their value in bitcoin decreases even if they are stable enough to keep their value in dollar sustained.

So all one can earn from such long term trade is a loss in bitcoin.

So, is short term trading alts the only option or even that is too risky for now and holding could be the only option.

And for buying alts, one should use dollar instead of bitcoin.

Altcoins trading is now mostly taken to earn money since faster fluctuatation in the chart of any altcoin. Now BCH price growth is good than other coins so choose this coon to trade would be best.
Since bitcoin price rising everyday it is now has to consider as short term and long term investment for the bitcoin buyers. After purchase, hold certain amount in your wallet itself for a year. It will truplecthe cost from now.
Then you will get reward for the bitcoin gold which is gonna split on November.

you think like a desperate person,. the value of bitcoin will never be unstoppable,., bitcoin value will keep rising as usage and mining are depleted.,. but it is only a reliable altcoin in short-term trading., because if we rely on bitcoin we must have at least 1 btc to do short-term trading..

Bitcoin: yes.
Alts: no. I don't hodl alts more than 1 month. New alts on the market every day. There are always some alts better than others. If I don't see an alt that is good to invest I'll hold bitcoin and wait for the right moment to join.

I don't chase the market price. I learned many lessons on this market. Hold bitcoin is my top 1 priority.

Altcoins is really for short term investment. There's no real alt that is much better to hold longer term than bitcoin. That's why I don't want to trade altcoins. I try to stay away with the market for quite some time now except for few tokens that I can't sell because the value has lost 50% already.

Bitcoin is really the only crypto's good for long term and for short term. I have seen traders who do bitcoin trading everday, sometimes they would win a lottery, sometimes just a few dollars. But it is ok as long as you you gaining profit. But if you hold it least say last six month, I'm sure you have more than double your investments already.

I only agree with you in part that with the current btc market fluctuations, short-term investment will be a more appropriate option than long-term investment. But that does not mean long-term investment will not be profitable. Over a period of time, btc prices have increased dramatically and that is a source of profit for us. Summary, Both Short-term and long-term investment  can be profitable for us.

I don't think it makes any difference if the price of Bitcoin is rising to do long-term investments. And i also don't think people do long-term investments in altcoins. It is only Bitcoin that is worth investing long-term but not altcoins, and if the price of Bitcoin is increasing, that is a good thing for investors.
A person buying altcoins with Bitcoins does not need to worry about the growing price of Bitcoin, as the value of his trade will still be the same if the price of Bitcoin increases or decreases, and he will have the same amount of money invested if converted to dollars.

a simple logic that many people do not understand about Altcoin existence.
Bitcoin is a symbol of the cryptocurrency itself, and altcoin created as a tool/way to earn Bitcoin from their service, offer and others.
Altcoin will exist as long as Bitcoin exist and have a value,
no matter what will happen,it will exist forever as long as we can see Bitcoin.
because people will never satisfy with all that they have and still find a way to make/earn it.
that is why, even though Bitcoin price is surging.Altcoin will always exist and some alts will be die,but another one will appear to replace it as a role for earn Bitcoin from others.
so,altcoin will never lose its value if Bitcoin still exist

and about valuing their alts using dollar,
i think it's depend on the trader themself, which one will they do and what will that do.
for a longterm,it would be better for valuing it to Bitcoin.
because Bitcoin price will always keep increasing.

I disagree. Although altcoins become worth less Bitcoin per Altcoin when bitcoin rises, they are still able to rise a lot in their value in USD.

Besides, in contrary to what your title suggests, Bitcoin can still be a worthy long-term investment. If it becomes a regular aspect of our lives, it could reach a worth of multiple millions of dollars per Bitcoin, which would mean a possible increase of TENS OF THOUSANDS PERCENTS! Even though altcoins have more potential to grow, as they can grow tens of thousands of percents in just a couple months, without such inlikelyness to have joined the game, they are much riskier too. The risks involved are great.

Therefore, I think that Bitcoin is still the best way to go for Long Term Investments, if you can't find a really worthy Altcoin you're such of which will grow a lot in the future.

So far as altcoin is concern, the old days from investing and holding to it is not much for now as the bitcoin price skyrocketed its price day by day and ICO scammed doesn’t help but give bad images to every token created. I hope there is some way on limiting the abusing team on this matter.

Forking is also one reason it won’t prosper as of now and I’m doubting it would change this year. I have my own holdings but soon I’ll be honest, I will exchange it for bitcoin if nothing will change.

Buying bitcoin and selling bitcoin is still profitable. Why do you insist on moving funds to altcoins? Effectively you are selling away bitcoin to buy altcoins. If you have faith in that altcoin then by all means do so but that does not mean price will rise like bitcoin for that specific altcoin in future.

Now there are still methods to do short term bitcoin trading as well. Trading at a difference of 100$ in price is worth it and you can do that too. It does not mean that there will be loss in bitcoin - its totally your own methods of trading and analyzing how you can make profit out it.

The presence of so many alts and tokes are actually ruining the crypto currency market. The amount of investment bitcoin should have received, is getting divided due to the presence of so many alts. So bitcoin is not growing as desired. However, the point you raised is completely valid. With increase bitcoin value, the alts are getting devalued compared to bitcoin but not compared to USD. So it is better to use alt/usd pair for trading instead of bitcoin. But I truly think that so many alts are not worth having in anyone's portfolio. There are only few alts which are actually good and technologically superior than bitcoin. But other alts are mostly worthless.
