The thing about scamming is that it has become more of a profession for most here. A full time 9 to 5 job, 24/7/365 even for some.

For us unpaid scam busters, it's the same.  We have to put in the time to catch as many as we can.

I have been logged in for 196 days, 8 hours and 59 minutes.  Sad

The thing about scamming is that it has become more of a profession for most here. A full time 9 to 5 job, 24/7/365 even for some.

It's what differentiates us humans from the rest of what's alive on this planet. A calculating, manipulative and envious species. We calculate to own what others own. Manipulate people in sophisticated ways to separate them from their rightful properties. And we have an envious and jealous predisposition. Unhappy to see the Jones's ahead of us by the most recent iPhone model, by a $10k higher bank balance, by better and faster cars, by fatter bitcoin wallets..

Actual hard work is bad news for some people. Nowadays easy money is everyone's secret mantra. Even the most humble and righteous and corrupt-proof man, if such a specimen exists, on this planet will break and cave when confronted by financial storms and desperation. Money makes this planet rotate on it's axis. It is undeniably the source of all most evil things happening to mankind but this is the reality of life. Everyone needs money.

There will be scammers here for as long as bitcoin holds value. When the price of bitcoin drops to a cent per coin, watch how deafeningly silent the scam accusations page of this forum will be.

Nowadays people like to get easy money and scammers are lurking every where, and the way to scammed people is keep on improving

Ico scamming is one of the favorite way to scammed people because all the information got is based on trust and there are no way yo check whether it is real or not and it is hard to tracked down the scammer, the beat way to avoid this things is stay away from ICO, although the profit sometimes can be very rewarding but the risk is extremely high

Unfortunately the internet has always been a hot bed for scammers. Sucks but they go where the easy money is and they see targets here. Wish it weren't the case.

Scams here can be significantly reduced by introducing certain restrictions such as newbies not being allowed to use the PM feature. Then from there, more scambusting features would be useful if put into effect. An example would be not allowing newbies to post on certain sections such as the lending page (or allowing them but forcing them to provide collateral information).

What else? Oh yes, there are tons more. For example, a filter system which blocks posts of new members which contain the words PayPal, Skype, phone numbers, website addresses and email addresses.

But the question is? Would those restrictions would be implemented? I don't think so that they would put those restrictions. You are right most newbies do really making some crime here but also thinking off even on higher ranks do the same thing too specially on bought accounts which they tend to scam some people on here being deceived on their community rank and as a member of this forum if you aren't observant then for sure you will got scammed.Trust no one on this online world because anyone could really scam you.

That might be a little too extreme. Surely there are better ways to manage it.

I dont invest in icos, and that is the only reason of why i dont lost money in this kind of bussiness, it is too symple, just dont invest.

This is good way but there is still no one who won but did not play. Who never try will never win.

All things are dependable on which way you will go but frankly speaking your right with that since if you won't risk and play you cannot earn with them but you should now on how to escape so that you will not be killed when the dump will be happen on some ICO coins there. And we should go on Potential ICO and not those shitty ones who just been placed just to scam us.

To be frankly, it's very hard to determine, whether the prelaunch/new ICOs are running by scammers or not.

The only thing we can do is try to gather as much information as possible, before jump into a project...

I really agree with this, there are a lot of ICOs in this forum that are only created for scamming, i see them everyday just because i am always watching the Altcoin section, and it is plenty of them. Also there are a lot of new icos everyday, i can not even count them, but most of them dont success, and become scam.

The main idea is that ICO - is so young as a business, so, there are many scammers who wants to receive easy money. Embarrassed

This will not last forever.
This system will regulate itself otherwise it will be dead.

Warning is much appreciated.
Had to deal with scammers several times in my life previously. My recommendation is never hurry with any decisions. Also, not to deal with people who don't have confirmed profiles on different places.

The best advice to anyone considering investing in any ICO or project is to think carefully before parting with your money

I have enough PMs from all sorts of alleged coders who can create the best of the best but all of them have been scammers trying to take money, many asking 25% in advance without any real contract and with no recourse or protection for the investor.

One of the biggest flops was a particular user purporting to be a coder who will make an exchange for 0.25 BTC. He offered nothing in contracts and wanted the 0.25 BTC immediately. He wanted several thousands to go to CPC and CPM sites that he claimed to have coded which would advertise banners and had some google-dream up his sleeve too. Upon realising his scam was outed he resorted to name calling.

Another was one who wanted 5 BTC to make a Visa card associated with bitcoin wallets which he claim he coded from scratch. He insisted on chatting in a private Tawk.to box rather than leave evidence here in PMs. He claimed he was going to get free hosting but asked for money because he was working on the project full time for 4 weeks. I advised him to change the free adminLTE dashboard and show me a tangible product but then the truth unfolded. He now claims he sold the "company" to a UK company Smiley   https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/development-in-progress-instant-visa-virtual-card-creation-and-load-with-btc-1931218

There are more but the moral of the story is... Too many scammers here. Some must be making a tidy sum every month by ripping people off, like a salary without actually having a job but happy bringing pain to investors.
Yup, there are TONS of scammers on this forum... But who are you to blame them? They need money, so they chose to scam people for it.
I don't think that scamming is good, but it's just a choice they made. We should just avoid trading with them and ignore them for the rest of their lives.

Anyways, there are also a lot of legit ICOs which are worth it to invest in. I think people should just think a bit better themselves, before investing.
There has been so many threads saying stuff like this, but yet people are getting scammed every minute.

Regards,
Trump

I completely agree with you - in any case, I don't see that scammers are pushing and forcing to invest into their projects. It is completely your decision to invest or not invest your crypto currency. Of course, people should analyze ICO projects and choose only real and perspective ones.

True. But in the eraly days there are lots of scam ICo, through time it is lessened because the moderators are not letting any scammers here. As to the real world rules, if I'm not mistaken the Chinese government banned all of the illegal and not a legit ICO so it is a great help for us because in the future all the ICo will be a legit one and the only thing that will be worrying about is whether if that campaign will reach the soft cap.
I hope that all of the upcoming ICO will have a good name in the future because it's for the general benefit of all cryptocurrencies.
Don't let them give crypto a bad name.

The mods can move it if they feel it is on the wrong place. I do not mind.
