You are claiming there is an issue - where no issue exists. So yes, somebody is claiming something, and claiming it falsely.

You are one of those wankers.

Different well run operations prepare themselves to achieve their goals differently. Several of my own enterprises have had no paperwork except a basic self-filed LLC and are still running quite well. Don't presume to speak for others.

Since Litecoin is in the common speach now, nobody can successfully file to claim the name. There would also be no point in doing so. If  Litecoin were claimed, I could become Litecoine, Litecoiner, Litecoinette, or any other form of the word but not the exact word itself.

Nobody is piling on you. You are deliberately riding your dead horse straight into a wall of opposition. Us setting you straight is kindof the same as if we yelled at a suicidal moron "Don't Jump!" But you aren't listening. You are making up your own false facts and allegations solely for the purpose of stirring pschidt up.

Tell you what, you fade off, and let us find out if you are right or wrong about the twitter twit taking down posts or not. Come back in a year and we'll let you know how it turned out.

A final comment - I hide from the rain successfully quite often. It's called being inside my home when the weather is wetter than damp. You should really take a year off from communicating and actually study communication itself, you really aren't very effective. But you are annoying, which I believe is your actual goal here and probably your life elsewhere.

None is claiming anything.  Any wanker can post anything they want that says anything.  A well run operation would have done paperwork to prevent this kind of problem.  Things slip through the cracks and the Litecoindark organization should pay the $50.00 or whatever to take over and register the trademark ASAP and post here that they are doing so.  Piling on me won't make the question go away.  Even if I fade off and she's scared into taking down her posts the big boys out there will still want answers. Trying to avoid it is like hiding from the bloody rain.
If there is no valid trademark since the previous trademark expired some time ago then imho it would now be hard to register a trademark containing the word "litecoin" since the name is no longer unique. It is used in other coins. Therefore, the rain is not bloody ... again, imho.

It would appear so.

A well run operation would have done paperwork to prevent this kind of problem.

Except there is no problem. You insisting there is does not make it so and you criticising the coin project for not dealing with a non-existent problem, even after it being clearly explained to you about how there is no trademark issue, in any way, is simply suspect.

You are unbelievable....Flapman. WHO pays you  Wink
Problem as I see it is that time is running away for IPO coins and perhaps also LTC, so you have to scam and fud to protect your own Investment.
Instead of fudding you should join a great coin in its birth.

Looks to me some other alt coin holders are very scared of litecoindark  the only thing we can do is be mature and invite them in to the best community and they are all welcome to be part of the next bit thing. Grin

I guess someone who posts "Moon!" 1000 times and becomes a full member is more reliable?

Instead of doing a reverse appeal-to-authority, how about you actually acknowledge the multiple posts which dismiss your assertions by way of actual objective reasoning?

The Devs say that since the LiteCoin trademark is expired anyone can freely use it.

I don't particularly care for this coin project. I do, however, care for honesty and truth. So, please, stop repeating your false claims about there being an issue with trademark when there is not. The attempt to trademark the word 'Litecoin' was likely abandoned when it was apparent that the pre-existing public use of the word 'Litecoin' would have voided the attempt from the outset.

WARNING: I say "F*CK". A Lot.
I wouldn't hold it against you if you went back to not having much to say. You were less suss when you were silent.

Why are you arguing with us about this? Somebody (the other you?) pointed out a twitter posting made by some twit (still yet another you?). We were asked for comment. Several of us commented. The only dissenter(s) is/are you/the_other_you - and just keep trying to ride a dead horse.

I do not post much because I generally do not have much to say

The devs are correct. But it is irrelevant due to name variation.

I doubt that you spoke to any lawyers and certainly not your friends. Lawyers don't have friends. If lawyers said this particular issue is not that simple - they are not truthful, they are not lawyers, and/or they are just stupid law students that won't graduate.

I spoke with some lawyer friends and they say it is not that simple.

This much could be true, except it is irrelevant.

They say this could be a legal strategy to scare LTCD away or to extract value.  Any lawsuit has to be fought even if the one attacked is in the right.  This costs money.  This is why the US legal system sucks.  There are procedures that have to be followed to take over a trademark:
