As about identifying class A attackers, as I already informed certain parties from community, a direct connection to database was established starting from IP 178.21.117.208 belonging to directvps.nl and address 1AeFq5RbXiY1vsRqZjcF7fVodCxXwmDcMX (along with many others) was planted in database for payments. 1AeFq5RbXiY1vsRqZjcF7fVodCxXwmDcMX aggregates large amount of coins and sends funds to address 1FsVcdeHbpvUVT3gjeuVR2ZSDnpcsJMsLL (owner can be determined with 100% certainity)
For those needing a tip, here’s an article
http://qntra.net/2014/12/virransom-the-latest-ransomware/

Chris somehow implies that he knows who is behind these attacks but doesn't want to spell it out.
Can someone give me a hint? I don't get it. The link also doesn't help..

I checked the address that was used in the hack/injection into database and it received over 84,000 BTC ( 1AeFq5RbXiY1vsRqZjcF7fVodCxXwmDcMX ), chris then mentioned that BTC was moved to 1FsVcdeHbpvUVT3gjeuVR2ZSDnpcsJMsLL which received a total of 642,000 BTC..... That is farking crazy!!

Just google it  http://www.walletexplorer.com/address/1FsVcdeHbpvUVT3gjeuVR2ZSDnpcsJMsLL

These are probably hot wallets on an exchange, BTC-E most likely...

That's a great question. I've wondered that myself. Everyone who sells shares claim that they just bought them recently. Maybe they did, but maybe they also hold shares which are much older. Since there is no way to choose which shares you sell, how can anyone know how old the shares purchased from a re-seller actually are?

There are some "resellers" who sold their extra-shares they got on multiplication days. Or shares they bought dirt cheap (using the referral system) and immediately sold them to a normal price.

We shouldn't owe maintenance fees on shares we just bought in November/December. That goes against Chris's terms on his site. We bought the shares for 1 year from date of purchase.

It isn't even clear yet whether you have to pay "tax" on recent shares.

I'm pretty sure he can't tell how old are each shares.

I knew the fee was listed but it was so vague.

I bought from a reseller that seemed legit, but now I am worried did he get his shares cheap from someone else.  The reseller said they were recent purchases and I got a few in Nov and Dec.  Sucks to pay a tax on them already and still hoping they are legit.

Either way, my account is still pending balances.  Anyone actually receive a payment?

I can't imagine that people who just bought their shares in November and December would be charged a tax. That's completely unfair. The terms of the purchase were for 1 year from the time of purchase. Not "until the end of the year in which we purchased the shares".

"Hosting and power costs are included for one year. After each year, a power/hosting/maintenance has to be payed to maintain ownership for another year. The fee is around 5% – 20% of initial share price and it can be calculated only at the end of the year."

At least I'm not aware of. This is only valid for shared directly bought from LTCGear? Or also bought from "resellers"? How can be tracked when they were sold, in case of a resale?

Buying a share today from a reseller (let's say I'm not familiar with LTCGear), I think it's a "new" share. How could he track the age of it?

So lets us know if you account is functional and how much the tax is.  My account and my daughters tiny account (236 shares) are not functional.    My fear is some reseller shares were not legit.

Just had a thought ... for many of us that have reasonable accounts and clearly paid for many shares, the tax may help cover the losses.

Though #2 - Kiss the share multiplication goodbye.   However that is a pretty small nick.   Getting payments flowing is important.

Without multiplication there's no point of buying shares.

so true...it would defeat the whole purpose

What multiplication? Difficulty is atm almost lower than it was at the last multiplication, so there isn't really a point in giving more shares to compensate for difficulty rises, since, well, there ain't that much Wink

Hopefully, he just meant that people who bought shares at the beginning of the mining operation (one year ago) will be charged the maintenance fee soon.

it is his trick to shut down most of the player and get out safely, incase he just shut down the site, there will be ton of people doxxing him and banging his front door , doing this way then alot people will just shut down their shares, pretty clever i can tell, and he speaks nothing about compensation of the unpaid

All my shares were purchased in December and were supposed to include one full year hosting and maintenance. Was not paid on over 6,000 shares yet that were purchased just before the "hacks." Why the hell should I pay this "tax" on shares I have owned less eight weeks and have never been paid 1 satoshi on them?

where to see this tax value?

so let me be clear

instead of getting payment now he wants us to pay for the tax?

Probably as high as the missing payments   Undecided
And like I said, he only mentioned tax. No kind of compensation for the downtime.

Seriously ? i was going to pay the tax with the missing payments but there's no compensation ?

I'm not Chris, but I didn't read something about a compensation in his explanation. Only about the tax.

So do I, there isnt anymore information about this tax, and he did write something about active account or whatsoever

Just checked the VPS website, which is completely in Dutch. It seems they're only accepting bank transfers so it should be possible to find a lead there since they should've gotten a name on their bank statement.

Could still be someone that posted online along the lines of "I'll pay you 100 euro in BTC if you transfer 75 euro for me to this and this bankaccount" but there will be some sort of a lead.
