That makes sense and I do see your point.

I'm trying to minimize frequency of my payouts and the larger pools make that difficult.  I'd like to get paid no more often than twice a day max.  The smaller pools are good for this.

Seems like I'm stuck between small pools with very long block times.  Or dealing with 5-8 payments each day from the larger pools which I don't want either.

It's a shame you can't set your payout threshold.

Thanks. I'm on Zerg basically mining solo right now with 230 MH/s.
I wouldn't mine this coin solo with only 230 MH/s. General rule of thumb for solo mining unstable altcoins like this one is to be able to solve at least a couple blocks a day. Otherwise you're just playing a lottery, lux has lost 100+% of its btc value within a month, average time to find a block of 5 days is just too much here.. you can go for a week or two without solving anything, and then, two weeks later, the difficulty could get 2 times higher than it was when you started, so your chances of finding anything would get even slimmer.. or the price could fall a lot and by the time you find your first block it's already 2-3 times lower than when you started. Solo mining makes sense for larger farms, it's definitely not something I'd do with 230 MH/s.

Is there a calculator to estimate how long it will take to find a block solo mining LUX?
LUX block reward seems to be fixed at 10 LUX per block, so it should be pretty obvious — just use any normal calculator to estimate how long it would take you to mine 10 coins with your hashrate, and that's ~ how long it should take you to find a block. Right now, at the current difficulty, you'd need ~ 900-950 MH/s to mine 10 LUX/day. So, with that hashrate, you would mine ~ 1 block per day. Of course the difficulty fluctuates a lot, and with only ~ 1 GH/s you could find 1 block a day, or you could go a few days without finding a single block, that's just the nature of mining solo. You'd also have to run your own pool since most recent wallets don't support old getwork type solo mining (not sure about LUX, but most likely it doesn't support it either).

Depend of what hashes you own , but anyway solo is disabled in v4 wallet.

Today's update from discord

"@everyone We are expecting a final wallet release on Monday which will re-enable PoS.
Time will be finalized after reviewing with Pool Owners.
With PoS in place, this would re-enable MN rewards. Watch this space for an update on time."
Hi lupanar,

I have a question for you, which related to masternode feature of LUXcoin. Why statistics for LUXcoin in https://masternodes.online/currencies/LUX/ not shown?
What happened with the project or with the website?

Thanks for your answers.
POS not active yet so masternodes not active as well coz they getting reward from POS, thats why MN.onilne nothing to monitoring now.
Thank you. When will PoS be activated?

Hi,
I am running the latest version of wallet and it is fully synchronized
Regardless this, the amount of coins that i have are not correct and it seems like the blockchain has stopped at the end of January.

In https://chainz.cryptoid.info/lux/
i can see the correct amount that i own

Can you please direct me what to do for having the correct number of coins in my wallet?

you can remove all files from lux directory beside wallet.dat. start wallet, it will re-sync all data .

Thanks for your help gscotch
I did what you are describing, the blockchain was syncronized again but it came exactly to the same position as it were before.
The wallet does not have the correct amount

Any suggestion please?
If you mean that amount isnt correct comparing what you had in old 3.0 wallet so the coins that were generated by old wallet after new 4.0 wallet release and new protocol activation will not be accepted by chain, thats why amount that u have after upgrading is different.

snrpro if you read few posts back you will see that it is very clear when it is expected Smiley No one said about yesterday. I emphasize "expected".
We dont want the devs to rush any non working wallet. Maybe its not good not to keep the schedule but it's a lot worse if the new wallet isn't functioning properly.

Any update on the new POS wallet? Tried looking around and didn't see anything so I'm guessing not but I thought it was supposed to be up today or yesterday.

It is not about 'instant gratification' it is about being SMART. Why mine a coin that is not profitable AT THE MOMENT??? I can switch to something way more profitable and convert earnings to btc or even LUX.

SoilCoin would give  me at least twice the return atm. It is a shitcoin but it can be sold and converted into btc and I can then buy twice as many LUX with that.

https://minethecoin.com/coin/soilcoin

I'm getting around 4 Lux per week atm, at current prices, that is only about $52. If I can get $136 per week on soilcoin, I can trade that for around 10 LUX per week.

I'M NOT A FUCKING CHARITY!!

If you think that Lux is not enough profitable for you now , you are free to find coin with more income from mining of. Wont be telling u about a futureproof mining, everybody here is a grown guys and can decide what to do/mine. Good luck anyway  Wink

For big miners he have a point. But for hobby miners like he is himself the safety of mining a coin that looks like it will have a good future is way better than trying to constantly monitor which is the most profitable at the moment. Soilcoin is not a viable option for big miners though hehe.

Why should the little miners take a loss? Sounds like loser talk to me. Why the fuck would anyone be so stupid as to mine an unprofitable coin when it is easy to switch to another coin and trade. Why the prejudice against the little guy? Plenty to choose from.

As for LUX being some sort of winner....look at the price here since 24th Jan:

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/luxcoin/

It may recover one day but right now bitcoin is rising and nearly every other crypto coin is up and it is down. That is not a good sign. Of course people here think loyalty is more important rather than good sound financial considerations. Enjoy your losses. I'll buy back in when it is ready to recover, assuming it does..

WoW... imagine if no one was ever loyal to BTC, LTC, or ETH.... then where would you be? LTC was unprofitable for YEARS. BTC was bouncing between Profitability and loss. ETH had boatloads of issues and fear pumped into its market, people are crying cause they sold these coins so early on and missed out on buying back.

You guys must be AMD miners cause I'm not seeing the losses in day to day mining, Its still among the top most popular coins mineable with nVidia, in profit. And there is still good volume on the coin.

Yup, jumping from one volatile coin (with everyone else, so its now less profitable) to another sure sounds like good sound financial consideration! Ever heard of a lemming? Lemmings make nummy nummy snacks!

If you want to go mine another coin feel free, less hashing power from you is more coin for me. If its less profitable there's less potential for miners to mine to dump for another coin, sounds fine to me.

Once staking is returned you can buy my LUX from me at the increased price when it recovers! then when It dips, I'll buy it back from you at a reduced price, rinse and repeat Smiley, enjoy your losses!

Lol, I don't need your permission to switch coins. Seriously who the fuck do you think you are??? I'll be buying your coins for sure, but at a big cut in value and with my large profits, I'll do very well thank you.

I never gave you permission but ,well, you have my permission anyways. Maybe then you will be happier. And I'd sure be happier.

Since you ask, who do I think I am... well, better than you Grin Smarter than you  Cheesy more stable than you  Roll Eyes, and certainly not the guy who is spreading FUD, negativity, and closed minded opinions... That's who!

Now I'm gonna mine me some soil coin to dump it, Cause I can afford it, just for fun and just cause I can Cheesy Thanks for the advice!

Kiss  got some more feeble minded profanity you want to throw into this.

Soil was just an example (plenty of better coins to mine), I don't give a shit if you mine it or not, whats it my business?

Not gonna comment on who you think you are, you are entitled to your delusions.

That's not giving you permission, but a reminder you can do what you like, that will only benefit me, and it did, instead of moaning and bitching, but like I said I give you permission anyways.

And you are entitled to your delusions that I suffer from delusions.

LOL, your a joke  Cheesy

Any update on the staking front? Is an entire new wallet coming out or will the current wallet just start staking in the near future?

I'm also interested when and how staking will work with the new wallet. Any updates?

and a wow... its pumping up now

If wallet comes tomorrow as mentioned with POS it can possibly continiue to rise Smiley But first it needs to be delivered, i think they will make sure it works and is stable rather than think of price and release anyway.
