I asked Santa for some Bitcoin for Christmas, but I don't wear stocking any more, so I probably won't get any.

Am doing the selling for Christmas gift forntge family which is very important  at this moment of celebration. Although am not happy selling but its what I must do to provide for the family. It pains to see ones investment going in the wrong direction and couldn't help the situation. Family happiness first before considering shortage.

There is trouble abrewing
Your presumption are totally right because most cryptocurrency holder and investors usually sell some portion of their coins when it this season but doesn't mean the whole downtrend happened all because of that.

you should never make assumptions just because price made a certain movements. if you look back at the previous 10 years only some of the years price dropped and the rest of the time price has been rising.

so unless YOU yourself have sold bitcoin to buy gifts you shouldn't assume others are doing it.

So, watching the price of Bitcoin going down, made me think of reasons why this might be happening now.  Roll Eyes  I saw the news of the Chinese

scam and the coins being liquidated, but that sounds like a lame excuse for the price going down. A better reason might be that people are selling

coins or using coins to buy Xmas gifts. Let's be honest, it is that time of the year and people are going on holiday, so they need to dive into their

Bitcoin hoard to pay for that and also some Xmas gifts.  Huh

Are you using your coins to buy Xmas gifts and to pay for your holiday expenses?

I'd rather hold my coins rather than giving gifts to love once specially in my case that we dont have a close relatives that is why gift giving is not a case. This is the quest for us if we can had the patience to hold even that there is this kind of occasion.

Honestly, I haven't been using my Bitcoins for months though there are online shops and merchants that offer discounts and sale this Christmas season who are accepting Bitcoin. I'm still holding and I keep my faith with Bitcoin. I believe that the price would still get better which could provide us a better profit soon.

First of all, Christmas is the same every year, but I don't think bitcoin is falling in December each year. It did last year, sort of, and we can say that it does this year, but what about, say, 2017?
As for personal usage, I did sell some BTC to buy presents for New Year and I also received my New Year present in Bitcoin in advance. So some movement can be explained by actions like that, but I don't think it's likely that this is the main reason the price if going down.
Moreover, this negative trend can be over tomorrow or in a couple of days easily, that's just how volatile bitcoin can be.
The price of the bitcoin is not depends on what kind of months afterall. Even if it is december, we cannot say that the bitcoin will become bullish. Right now even it is December the trend is still downtrend. My goal is to increase the bitcoins that I have today so I do not plan to use it in order for me to buy christmas gifts. It is still better if I will use fiat money n buying goods and services to not decrease the bitcoin that I have.

This sounds more plausible to me. We saw this also in the past years and I am beginning to conclude it is an annual pattern. However, this is a wrong move at this time owning to the abysmal price of Bitcoin now. Those who're selling now will probably regret it soon when price kicks in again.
Christmas and year-end parties have become a common part of the habit of selling several assets, including bitcoin and other shares, I call it "book closing celebration". Last year the price decline also looks the same regardless of what the current chart shows.

I also sell a small portion for celebratory needs, bitcoin will still be speculative in the range of $ 6-7k, I don't regret it, I need to take a vacation to prepare a new strategy.

No, I don't. I use fiat for it. Aside from earning in crypto, I have a real-time job. That is why there is no need for me to cash out my earnings in crypto. I consider them as a Christmas gift for my self for the next bull-run. I even sometimes invest my money whenever the prices go down.

I don't have some special habits regarding Bitcoin during the holiday season.
I beleive that Bitcoin is not only made to be holded and kept in some wallet but also should be spent in real life for real things. That is why I'm trying to find balance between holding and spending. But if you are holder and you don't otherwise spend Bitcoin, exchanging or spending it only because of Christmas maybe isn't so good idea.

Sinbad Mixer: Mix Your BTC Quickly
There's no single store here in my country that accepts using Bitcoin as a payment method, so obviously I'm just selling few of my Bitcoins to buy some Xmas gifts. I'd be happy to use Bitcoin directly if there's stores which accept it but unfortunately there's none here in my country, and I think a lot of people here in the community doing the same as me because not all the countries in the world has stores  which they accept crypto currencies.

Yes in here, but not for Xmas gift because i am not celebrate it. Maybe to prepare for Xmas and New year holiday. Sometime i don't have other choice beside sell some of my bitcoin to do a trip in my holiday. Actually my real job salary is not really high, so sometime i cover daily needs with sell bitcoin that i have.

Even though the Christmas celebration is important and identical to the gift it does not mean you have to sell or use bitcoin fully, because right now the price of bitcoin is very cheap and not the right time to use it and if you really need it use as little or as much as you need and with reasons because you are short of funds that you previously used Christmas needs from your pocket or from a real job salary.
and it is indeed difficult in situations where both are very important, but bitcoin will be more important and profitable if you make a sale when the price of bitcoin is high, and a decrease in bitcoin is now actually an opportunity to buy it because the price is low.

yes maybe some bitcoin holders who don't have funds to celebrate Christmas will sell some of their bitcoins to buy Christmas gifts. and maybe this is what causes the price of bitcoin to always decline every year end because many of the holders of bitcoin are selling bitcoin to celebrate Christmas and the new year.
and in my opinion there are rarely people who give bitcoin as a gift because there are still many who do not understand about bitcoin.

I will sell Bitcoin to buy Xmas gifts if Bitcoin is of high value. Everyone wants to find the best profit. So you have the right to choose your own way of making a profit. Many experts believe that by 2020 the Bitcoin market will have a breakthrough. Invest now.

What I'm trying to say is that the whales act slightly involves but this season is the season for experience crypto accumulators to get more cheap coins.

that would be the stupidest thing to do in my opinion and i don't think anybody is doing it mostly because i have never seen anybody liquidate their assets to buy Christmas gifts or things like that. it is like saying your stocks, gold, real estate,... to buy Christmas gifts! it simply has never made any sense to me even though every year around the same times people make the same assumption.
even if people wanted to "convert" their bitcoins to gifts, they would only do it if they could directly use bitcoin to buy gifts in which case it wouldn't affect the price at all.

Well, Christmas only came once a year, then why not? If we can feel the spirit of giving then spending a little amount of bitcoin won't matter. Surely, we can buy more afterwards as it seems bitcoin might dump more.

Honestly, I don't want to speculate anymore as if bull run will come or not. As long as I hold above the price I bought then I'm good.
